Let it snow (4 Viewers)

Just back from walking the dog along the local beach and was wondering what is snow............:wink2:

Wayne.

We have about a foot and it's still coming on strong. Have already stopped shaving which is prohibited on snow days.

There are blizzard like conditions here. You can't see very far.

Still snowing and it's heavier than ever. Looks like the weather pipple got it right this time, unfortunately. Got the FD scanner on and the call load is pretty high already this AM. Even minor calls are requiring multiple units for manpower assists. Not a good day to be working as Fire/Police. The snow is so deep that all the cars in our lot have disappeared and are now just bumps in the blanket of snow. Visibility about 100 yards even though the wind is very low at the moment. Looks to be about 18+ inches so far. -- Al

We got about 6" but I can't complain, we moved from Tampa, FL to be here. :rolleyes2: It's funny to watch how "crisis oriented" the wx people are. This keeps 'em happy until the summer thunderstorms roll in. Chris

Hey you guys be safe man. Seriously!

John from Texas

PS: I send clear blue Texas sky pictures later...

Germantown is in an area that is supposed to get another 14+ inches before the snow ends, on top of the 18+ we already have. Oh fun, oh joy, oh s***... -- Al

Scenes from the back yard.

Kind of resembles Go for Broke's, dontcha think? :wink2:

About 18 inches and still coming down hard. Once the wind gets up it will be nasty. Snow blowing in the wind is a real experience getting a face full.

ok, another round down, driveway and deck cleared, have about 24 plus inches total in Baltimore County, MD at this point with no end in sight, we will probably hit the 32 plus mark. It is almost noon and time for the first cocktail, I have moved the 5 oclock timeline up due to inclement weather.

Any pics for us snow lovers???

Anyone who's thinking of clearing off their driveway, roof, etc. while it's still snowing, which can be a health hazard, should read this, http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/23/o...=Full&region=Marginalia&src=me&pgtype=article
Locally, there has already been one fatal heartattack directly connected to shoveling snow and there have been several related injuries that have required transport to the hospital. Be careful if you insist on doing it yourself instead of hiring a teen to do it. -- Al

We have more than a foot here, and still going strong. I spent an hour with my snow blower, and by the time I was done, it looked like I hadn't done anything where I started. For once the weather men underestimated the severity of the storm.

High up on a hill with steep driveway my plow service went off the side and can't get back up.
Good thing I have plenty of food and a generator, might be stuck for a few days!
This is a tough one....

Looks like you guys out on the Island are getting socked. Thank god we got a generator after Sandy. You never know when you're going to need it.

I spent two hours cutting a path to the road with the snow blower. Back breaking because it is waist deep. There is probably two and a half feet of snow on the road that will get plowed back in front of the driveway when they get to it. At least it seems to be slowing down. Can't believe all the people trapped on the highways. Very stupid and dangerous. Some people were complaining about canceling the hockey game tonight. LOL.
