Let it snow (1 Viewer)

Brad,

We too are getting 1-3 inches of snow today then warming up to 55 degrees and pouring rain tomorrow. If you don't like the weather, stick around for a couple of minutes, it'll change.{sm4}

This time, the forecasters were spot-on. We got about 3 inches of soft, powdery snow, and then it went over to rain overnight. Now, it's 40 degrees outside, and drizzling. Yep, February.

Prost!
Brad

It is already in the 50's here, with an expected high of 55 degrees, just two days after I woke up to 4 degree weather. The weather is a little bipolar, if you'll pardon the (bad) pun.

I expect a lot of colds out of this. Shades of Andy's gift ^&grin (for those who remember that).

This weather is a riot. Woke up to freezing rain, which became a downpour as temps rose. Now it's 41, the sun is out and most of yesterdays 4-5 inches of snow is gone. Good ole' Maryland weather.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Yeah, we already peaked here. The rain let up early this afternoon, and not only is the latest snowfall gone, but most of what was left over from the big January storm is also gone. The front has moved on, the temperature is dropping rapidly and the sky is clearing from the west.

Colds? Yes, I woke up with a sore throat this morning, so I stayed home. A steady dose of strong black tea with honey has cured it, though, pretty much. Also getting some bench time.

Prost!
Brad

All,

We hit a magnificent 81 degrees today. After a doc appt went downtown to Kings X's. The Menger is undergoing a face lift, so there is much construction going on. Amber has a major cold and has lost her voice. HOWEVER COMMA, Mama Ruth (her mom) was joy to see. Kings X has made new dio's and is showing off the latest releases. It was an awesome few minutes. Picked up some stuff and left.

Headed to a Brazilian Steakhouse tonight with some friend from McAllen, TX and some guests from Monterrey, Mexico. No snow in the for cast, but a little rain next week.

Sounds like a good day, John. I haven't been to San Antonio since 1987,would love to get down there, see Kings X, have some great Tex-Mex, etc. Enjoy the 80 degree February weather!

Louis,

Is it true that the low temperatures were record breaking this year? Seriously, praying for you guys!!!

John,

It hasn't been that bad here. We had one really big storm (the second biggest since they started keeping records in the 19th Century), another six inch storm, and one cold snap, just a bit below zero (-2 to -4, depending on where they were taking the measurement). Other than that, we have had a relatively mild winter, with several 60+ and 50+ degree days in January and February. Heck, on Tuesday the high was 57 degrees. I think Terry (Phantomwarrior) up in Toronto is having the crazy weather, with a low of -27 degrees Farenheit last week.

Our weather has been crazy - warm and dry. It's been one of the warmest winters on record and record low amounts of snow. We have had only one period of several days cold from a very cold Polar Vortex, but only 3" 4" of snow. The City didn't think it worthwhile to plow the roads. It's going well above freezing tomorrow for several days. The Polar Vortex was such a shock as we have had no real cold and then suddenly into the deep freeze. We had a swing of roughly 80 farenheit degrees colder for 5 days and now it is swinging back warmer some 80 degrees

Looks like winter is about to arrive in Toronto. A warm air mass from Texas with lots of moisture is moving north and will hit the Canadian cold air around Toronto. If the cold front moves north, Toronto will get mostly rain. But if the cold front moves south of Toronto we will get a huge dump of heavy wet snow.

I know your pain, Phantom. I am on Mid-coast Maine about 1 1/2 hours north of Portland. Last year's snow storms were a nightmare, with storms every 3-4 days. This year has been a blessing with almost always rain. I am exactly on the line between Rain and a Mix for this one, so I hope my luck holds.
Stay safe and warm.

May not be snow but we have been getting a downpour for hours and are under a tornado watch. Beginning to look like a zodiac might be the best form of transport for a while.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Toronto's missing winter has arrived. We got through November, December, January and February with warm temperatures and almost no snow. But we are getting a cold, heavy snow winter storm March 1. It's already started High winds, falling temperatures and rain changing to ice pellets. :rolleyes2:

Seeing predictions of snow here for this weekend. Hopefully a false alarm but maybe 5 inches or more in some places on the east coast.{eek3}
