Friends,

Good Lord twice in a year. This has got to be the most horrible year for Malaysia Airlines. I am speechless on this second "accident". What gets me is all the innocent souls who are victim to the actions (or inaction) of others. I can't even watch the news on this latest disaster as it makes me sick to my stomach. There is not even closure on the first airline which is missing and now this?

I pray for those families.

Sadly it's what happens when such weapons fall into the wrong hands or given to idiots. What makes it even worse, is the cowards that shot it down are in charge of the crime scene......it's disgusting and you have to feel for all those poor families who have lost loved ones as a result of such an horrendous act of violence.

Such innocents lost with all those people killed and it's frightening to think that it could have happened to anyone travelling to and from Europe from the Asia/Pacific region! I was over there in April and my plane also travelled over Ukraine airspace.

I was watching an Australian news channel yesterday and the reporter was talking to a journalist that was onsite at the plane crash. You could hear in his voice that he was upset at seeing bodies lying around (including children) and also seeing that some mongrel had ratted through a suitcase and stole personal belongings from it. How low can people get, especially with bodies lying around!

As you say the murderers are in charge of the crime scene. The images of how the scene is being trampled on is a joke and insult to those who have died. I note some EU monitors who attended the scene were scared away by the local gun men.

Totally dreaming I know but wouldn't it be nice if UN Security Council authorised the securing of the crash site. Approve deployment of a battalion or whatever from the many rapid deployment type units around and drop them in with massive air support. Tell the local cowards mess with us if you want but this land is temporarily ours until we have secured the evidence and the bodies. One twitch on a trigger and the consequences will be huge for your militia and vehicles and their bases. The UN, silly me what was I thinking. They are one of the reasons why so many around the world can get away with atrocities like this.

Sickening. The whole thing is sickening. To murder all those innocents including all those kids. I hope (and opinion on just who is pretty agreed)whoever did this rots in hell if such a place exists.

You know what I totally forgot about the UN! You bring up such a good point and what an opportunity for the United Nations to do something-anything to secure this area. As I said, my wife called me and told me about it and I just could not bear to click on CNN. It is just too much to bear. I mean I am not even affected by it personally, but as a human being, as a person who has a conscious, as a person who has sadly had to see the uglies of the world, I was just flabbergasted by the news. How?

Then when I came home and watched the reports on CNN, the reporters were reporting that there was LOOTING. What? Are you kidding me? Have these people lost all humanity? I have to say yes they have. They are savages of the highest order. And who ever may be in charge should absolutely be ashamed of themselves. I mean for shame on these people. And for shame on our world leaders for not acting immediately to this travesty, including Putin. Yo, Putin be the "Bear" and start kicking some arses down there and show the world you will not stand for this. Nope, he won't.

What kind of world do we live in where you cannot even fly safe with your family...anywhere on any airline. TomNT, that is totally scary that you went on the same route that those poor souls did. Totally scary! I mean, enough is enough man. I cannot and will not accept any death of innocents in this world via the hands of radical, terrorist, or sickos. This one really, really makes me sad, frustrated, bewildered and angry at today's world.

Aye dios.

Hi John

I wasn't on the same route as MH17 or even flying over that war zone but my plane did fly over a part of the Ukraine airspace.

This is humanity at it's ugliest and as Toddy has said, the cowards (or Murderers as Brett has said) are in control of the crime scene! What is the world coming to and again we don't see enough action from the UN although at the end of the day Russia can veto any action they deem as not in there interests as they are a permanent member of the security council. This is a sick crime and unfortunately I see the perpetrators getting away with it and not brought to justice.

Tom

This tragedy is in Putin's backyard. There is very little the West or anyone else is going to be able to do unless that thug Putin allows it. Since he is probably at the head of the responsibility chain on this, it is going to end up being another travesty that goes by the board. -- Al

You'd like to think in this so called modern age, that 'respecting the dead' would be a universal thing, that all cultures/races/religions embraced without question. The fact that this hasn't occurred, under these circumstances, speaks volumes about the persons responsible and those currently in charge of the site.

I agree completely : it's awfull
My question is : why are they still civilian planes in war areas ?
We are at the verge of such catastrophic situations in many countries Irak, Syria, Ukraine, Israël ( to name a few ) and still civilian planes are flying in and out .

A potentialy apocalyptic situation exist : Ebola in West Afrika , the sickness is spreading in 2 others countries at the border . Planes continues landing and going . Only one poor guy exposed to it and landing in New York or London, or Paris or .... no vaccine, no treatment 90% letality . More dangerous than the Spanish Flu 100.000.000 death . By chance it need physical human contact to spread ( as AIDS ), thus reducing the probalities . ( shaking hands is not dangerous, must be blood contact, any human secretion )

Meanwhile just continue to look at soccer games ...
Like in Rome before it collapse " Bread and Games "

I read that alot of airlines are avoiding that air space, but Malaysian airlines have financial problems so they where saving on fuel/money and kept the original route.

If financial costings allowed the airline to fly over what is classed as a war zone then, they won't be a Malaysian airlines after this when the litigation starts.

Its basic common sense to avoid an area like this. Many other ''hot spots'' were avoided around the world this was an incident waiting to happen.

People's lives V the dollar will always take second place
Mitch

Yeah Mitch they said a pilot should not know the airlines financial situation and make his decision on safety not profit.
Just stuff on the news here.

Exactly, his primary responsibility and duty of care is to the X hundreds of people in his aircraft. Every incident with airlines when you dig deep enough has cost at its door. Our news is also filled with this and its natural its coming out but, sadly no big surprises about why and how its happened

I have stopped listening to world new and politics a while ago. It is all too depressing
I only really pay attention to the sports news and this weekend has been good in that respect.
I just cannot really bear to pay attention to all these terrible political events going on around the world.
one hundred years since WWI and we don't seem to have moved on much.

Only that a hundred years ago Europe plunged the world into a bloodbath over some dill of a prince that everyone despised anyway, now we have hundreds killed by a bunch of clueless fools who have been given deadly toys by a bunch of even more clueless fools, this time maybe the world will not be plunged into another bloodbath but we still have the same sort of fools doing evil.

Well Gents, there is no doubt that Malaysia Airline is through. The whole thing is tragic, but what stands out in my mind are a few things:

-Looting of the crash site
-People who lost family on the previous missing Malaysia Air flight AND this one
-The lady who missed the flight at the airport with her baby
-The husband and wife stewards who jockeyed to be together on the flight and died together

I mean, I protest. I protest this act. I protest the treatment of the scene. I protest the treatment of the dead...those are peoples family members. I protest who pulled the trigger. I protest the rebels. I protest PUTIN. I protest the Ukranians too...just cause. Yo, this is your country man! Your backyard! I protest Malaysia Air. I protest the whole **** thing.

It is my hope that PUTIN becomes that most hated man in the world over this. Mr. No Shirt Bear Wrestler where are you at now?

Does anybody in the world have any huevos/balls/minerals to respect these souls. Apparently, not.

Gentle Friends,

There is no doubt that the event is tragic beyond belief and it generates raw and enraged reactions. However, please remember that the topic of politics is not generally allowed on the forum. Please post with caution and good judgment or the thread might be locked or deleted.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Then shut the thread down Pat if you are worried what someone will say. I started the thread to honor those who have fallen. It is natural to ask questions, disagree, wonder aloud and stand in disbelief. Also, hear from others from around the world who may or may not be affected. That is not political, that is just human nature.

This is twice in this weekend that anywhere I have posted where you have stepped in and made your presence know either on line or via PM.

Really not enjoying the forum lately...yeah...feeling a little picked on. Been a fan of TFT and a customer. Certainly not someone who just sitting around looking to pick a fight. Mr. Wayne was right about egg shells and sheriffs.

I think I will sign off for a while...
