Mike Tarantino's Toy Soldier Collection (5 Viewers)

Here are two Tedtoy America Toy Soldier sets that I have in my collection, but I they are not on display. They are U.S. Marines in their early World War II uniforms in 1941. Ted makes great sets which I recommend to any glossy collector and he is genuinely one of the nicest guys in our hobby.

Mike, those are great looking Tedtoys Wake Island Marines ..... the Color Guard set is a beauty. Ted's one the best glossy toy maker out there and good guy to boot.

{bravo}}

By the way, there's a single figure saluting officer that'll go nicely with the two sets you have. :wink2:

Thanks Buster. They are great companion sets. I'll keep my eye out for the officer.

This is a set of World War I Bosnians from Doppel Adler Soldaten. It is set 2B BOSNIAN INFANTRY; there are other related Bosnian sets with a flag and an officer. I believe that this Australian company is no longer in business, but it specialized in World War I Austro-Hungarian forces.

I have only three sets of The East of India Company's Ancient Greek Phalanx. Sets ACG01, 04, and 09. It is really too bad that this company went out of business. I extend my best wishes to Ken and hope everything works out for him.

I have a small collection from Soldiers of the World's Early American Wars series. This New Zealand company's figures are very reminiscent of Trophy of Wales. Here is set EA38/F: 23rd Regiment (Royal Welsh Fusiliers) Standing At Presnt Arms.

I've said it many times, but SoW makes beautiful figures in that high gloss finish. Nice sets, Mike. -- Al

On post #266, I meant to include this rear view of the 3rd New York rather than two similar frontal views.

This is set EA57/E French Forces - Dillon's (Irish) Regiment 1779 Fusiliers. At one time, I also had a set of the French Luzon's Legion, but sold it. That was before i picked up these other sets; now, I wish I hadn't sold it.

This is an interesting set from Brigader Miniatures that came in a nice wooden box of the 23rd Regiment of Foot (Royal Welsh Fusiliers) from the American Revolutionary War. The figures may be 48mm and are semi-round.

I love that Brigade Miniatures Royal Welch Fusiliers set, that's the kind of set that hooked me on this hobby as a kid - so elegant and traditionally toyish. You could see a 9 year old Winston Churchill playing with a set like that.:smile2:

Louis, it is exactly as you say, both elegant and very traditional with the wooden box making it something that I would have treasured as a boy. Hey, maybe young Winston owned this set at one time.

Here are a couple of additional photos of the Brigade Miniatures RWF set.
