It seems as if 36 years is the magic number so Dallas last won the SB in 96 (following the 95 season) so by that math, I got 8 years to go and hopefully (GOD WILLING) the Boyz will being a SB trophy home- Ill be turning 60 by then so............ :) :)

As you were- Kershaw has been in and out of his shirt- he's probably 10 sheets to the wind- drinking Budweiser on the bus- lol

Magic Johnson is front row center on the first bus too lol- he was on the stand when they got the trophy- I guess he has some kind of role with the team ha ha
It's great that Magic is still around but weird that he is associated with the Dodgers instead of Lakers.

I kind of feel silly for posting that earlier today only to find out he is part of the Dodgers minority ownership now- I guess he is part of the owners group- at least that's what the announcers said during the Parade- Billie Jean King is part of that minority ownership group as well.

I remember before the season started Tim Kurjian said that if the Dodgers won the World Series everyone would forget about Ohtahni’s interpreter’s betting scandal.

He was 100% correct, when the media talks about the drama surrounding the Dodgers march to victory this year no one ever mentions it.

Naturally they don't, water under the bridge, nothing to see here.

Surprised the Patriots didn't lose a draft pick because of the scandal.

And of course, according to local radio, the Giants are now in the Juan Soto sweepstakes.

I can't understand teams breaking the bank to sign Soto. He is a good player but not a guy who is going to carry the franchise.

Snell to the Dodgers, 5 years, 182 million.

How on earth do they continue to sign players to these mega deals; oh right.............181 million of it is deferred, so only 1 million counts vs the salary cap.

Because there is money for it and they need pitching. If they get Kershaw and Glasnow back, with Ohtani back from TJ, they may have a good staff.

It's unbelievable to me how they can pay pitchers like they do. Most starters play about 25 games and relievers might play in 60 games and pitch 65 innings. I don't know how they pay position players these enormous sums either but at least they play in most games. I'm waiting for the first billion dollar contract.

I hope he can survive on that $1mil in 2025 because all he needs to do is make it to 2026 when the Giants will pay him a $17mil deferred signing bonus.

After all, 2024 had to be tough as he had to get by on $15mil while pitching 104 innings.

That is $144,230 per inning.

To be fair he did have 5 wins that only cost $3mil per win.

Snell is a five inning pitcher but if you have a good pen I suppose that’s ok.

My 181 million of it being deferred was sarcastic; it's funny how the Dodgers are clearly going around the salary cap, ie, a form of cheating, but that's just swell and ok.

Cheating is cheating whether it be stealing signals or abusing a salary cap.

Just sign Soto and get it over with.

A five inning pitcher getting 36 million a year; if he makes 32 starts and goes 5 innings per start, that's more than 200,000.00 per inning.

Not bad work if you can get it.

More like a fudgeing joke.

But as their fans will say "Hey, it's not my money" when they pay 92.00 for a beer and a hot dog.

It's cheating to pay players a lot of money? I think it is stupid and don't know how any team affords these salaries in a league with declining attendance and empty stands, but if they have the money, they can spend it. MLB makes the rules, and the Dodgers apparently are not violating them. I'm hoping Soto doesn't sign with the Dodgers. Not a guy worth his price tag. Hopefully the Mets sign him where he will have good numbers but no impact.

Baseball has no salary cap; they have a tax. When calculating the tax they use a pro rated portion of the total amount of the contract.

Lastly, it’s not cheating because deferment is specifically allowed by the agreement with the union.

It’s probably tax avoidance, which some tax experts want to fix in the tax code.

Oh Ok, gotcha; they're not cheating the system by paying the gross national product of Venezuela in salaries, they just found a loophole in the system in order to do it.

So the Yankees and Red Sox paid out the ass for luxury tax because they weren't smart enough to find the loophole like the Wyle E Coyote Super Genius Dodgers did.

Got it, makes perfect sense, why pay a luxury tax like other teams do when you can get around it by using a loophole that no other teams were smart enough to figure out.

No wonder why they're the champs.
