Mlb 2024 (2 Viewers)

And if people wonder why I dump on MFY fans, look no further than that incident last night; Betts goes after a foul ball, one guy grabs his wrist, the other yanks the ball out of his glove, thankfully the runner was called out unlike that horseshit non call in the 1996 ALCS vs the Orioles when that little turd reached over the wall and interfered with the ball and instead of an out, it was ruled a HR.

Those two ballbags were tossed from the game, no ruling yet whether or not they'll be allowed back in tonight; seriously?

That should be a lifetime ban; one of them said "We've discussed this before if that happens, so we did it, I patrol that wall and people know that."

"I patrol that wall"; um........what?

A WS clinching game and the Dodgers make it a bullpen game, can't believe they only have 3 starters. So Kershaw is hurt I take it?

IF Cole is lights out tonight and this goes back to LA; oh boy......................

Things are getting interesting if nothing else.
Staving off the inevitable. That guy is a black eye to all fans, particularly NY fans. Typical Yankee fan.

LA has significant injuries to their pitching staff. Of 24 WS where a team had a 3-0 lead, only 3 went to a game 5. If NY makes history by pushing this to a game 6, Yamamoto is waiting for them. LA winning is inevitable.

My wife mentally and emotionally mind-f'd me last night in the first inning and took me out as a fan cheering on the Dodgers. We sat through the entire pregame show, watched the Freddie Freeman and Freddie's dad special, she was crying and emotional. Then game time comes around Freddie rinse/repeat- CRACK- 2 run homer- I go nuts, my son calls us, he and his college buds are going nuts and my wife goes:

"He's cheating. Has to be- this cannot happen like this."

Initially I shook it off but as time wore on, my shoulders started to slump, I shrunk down in my chair- Oh God, what if she's right??? I can't even deal with that right now- Freddie is another Captain America- great for the game and fans and America. I can't even deal with that."

I was pretty somber the entire night as the weight of this bore down on me! :) So we end up losing, fine but today I am going to eat as much red meat as possible so that she cannot take me out of the game with one snarky comment lol.

And I CANNOT wait to hear what George has to say about the drunk azz fans ripping the ball out of Mookie's glove and hands- just buffonery at it's best.

And I also contend that IF Freddie Freeman's father is throwing him BP every day, PERHAPS one of these MLB teams MIGHT want to consider picking him up as a hitting coach or consultant because bar any cheating or other scandalous behaviour, the man might know more about what he's doing than most hitting coaches on the payrolls when you look at what his kid is doing........just saying.......

The Dodgers pitching was atrocious last night. Too many walks after being up in the count. I'd never even heard of most of those guys. There is someone named Honeywell on the team? In game 4 up 3-0, Roberts was playing with house money. He has Flaherty, Yamamoto, and Buehler lined up for the final three games. All those guys have had good and bad games but it's unlikely that all three get shelled. One decent outing in LA and the series is over. I wouldn't be surprised to see it return to LA.

I watched the slow-motion replay of the Betts catch. The guy who was holding his glove could at least argue that he was going for the ball but the other guy who reached down and grabbed Betts' arm was completely out of line. He could have injured Betts. It could even be assault. MLB says these dimwits are going to be banned. Hopefully forever. They certainly made this much worse by bragging to the press. I'm sure they are local heroes, though. And this is their 15 minutes.

They were talking about Fernando the other night and mentioned that he went 8-0 to start to his rookie season and seven of those were complete games. Koufax once pitched over 370 innings in a season. For good or ill, those days are gone. Ironically there seem to be more injuries today with fewer innings pitched than in the old days. Those guys were tough. Smoking in the dugout and playing drunk.
Yeah I don't understand it. I just don't understand that a reliever pitches 1 inning they act like he's got to rest the next night. I agree 100% with Combat's post.

The Dodgers had a lot of disappointments in recent years but beating the hated Yanks on their home field goes a long way toward curing that. I can remember as a kid the great Yankees teams breaking the hearts of Dodger fans. This Yankees team was awful. Poorly coached. Roberts looked like a genius compared to Boone.

I have a ton of thoughts about this WS but for now I will keep it simple, congrats to the Dodgers and their fans.

Happy YED everyone, what a game, what a comeback.

Down 5-0, the whole baseball world thought this was going back to LA, bases loaded, two outs, then the roof caved in, FIVE runs scored with two outs.

Cole not covering first was bad enough, then Lurch drops a fly ball and Volpe butchered that throw to third, tie game.

BEST news of all; reports are Boone is back in 2025, they should replace him with Brett, or Bob...or Daniel.

Lurch hit a whopping .133 for the WS; way to go you lummox.

Dodgers won this thing in 5 games with Ohtani basically doing nothing.

Verdugo whiffing to end it was the icing on the cake, hated him at a Red Sox player.

Happy for Doug and all Dodgers fans, well done.

This is comedic gold! Still cant believe it's been since a year BEFORE I enlisted in the Army that I saw the Dodgers win the Series (Covid series is a part win).

I think the defensive collapse of the NYY in the 5th has to be the worst defensive inning in WS history. I cannot imagine there has been a worse showing but I could be wrong.

I think FOX said Cole was on the mound for 17 plus minutes and threw 40+ pitches that inning. UNREAL given how he was smoking it up till then. That moment when he points to Rizzo to tag the base- ummm I don't think it was Rizzo who forgot WTF to do there dude- unreal, middle school coaches will take their pitchers and first basemen aside several times a season to practice that play.

And speaking of Rizzo- the NYY didnt realize they had the answer to Freeman's hot bat right there at first!

WFAN is comparing that blunder along the first base line to the Buckner play in 1986 as far as memorable first base WS plays.

Not even close, but whatever.

That bozo on the stands cursed his own team, that mouth breathing stooge.

The Yanks played so poorly in this series that it sort of diminishes it. They were awful. With only three starting pitchers and Ohtani and Muncy giving them nothing, the Dodgers still won it in five games. A WS win is still a win, though. They are few and far between. I was surprised that the Dodgers have only won 8 times. I thought it was more. Glad that Freeman was named MVP. He obviously deserved it but he also seems like a very nice guy. No ego. I'm glad it is over. Some of the new rules move the game along but they are still way too long.

Im watching the Victory parade right now- Buehler is chugging a beer bong lol. So far Kershaw has his shirt still on ha ha

The more I read about Blake Treinen, the more I like that kid.

Not very accurate; should be an image of him swinging and missing.

He was awful in the WS, before and after his injury, Freeman and Betts carried that team, some role players chipped in too, but Ohtani was awful.
Can't argue with that- a lot of one pitch AB's which didnt help LA at all. Still, while the Series didnt see the best Ohtani there is, there is no way they get past San Diego much less the Mets without him- he brought up Betts game as well. I know how much you love and understand baseball- it's a very cyclical sport- Freeman was cold with his injury issues for the most part in the Playoffs whereas Muncy and Ohtani were dominant- even Yamamoto didnt find his rhythm in the playoffs but his Game 2 start was excellent. It is what it is. I just think that elbow/shoulder injury is far worse than the Dodgers let on. It's definately a team sport for sure.

Funny but I haven't seen him at the parade- perhaps he went back home to Japan for treatment?

As you were- Kershaw has been in and out of his shirt- he's probably 10 sheets to the wind- drinking Budweiser on the bus- lol

Magic Johnson is front row center on the first bus too lol- he was on the stand when they got the trophy- I guess he has some kind of role with the team ha ha
