Mlb 2024 (2 Viewers)

I lucked out and a family member came through with 2 tickets to the Orioles Home Opener this Thursday ( Friday if weather is bad) a meet and greet function, then eats and drinks included, then over to Camden Yards for the Game!!!!! Disappointed Jackson Holiday didn't make the opener squad, ( but I'm sure before All Star break he'll be here)...but looking forward to seeing the new AL East banner raised, and Burnes starting on the mound,..been to long since I've been to Camden Yards ( 12 years) can't wait until the Opener!!!!

That's fantastic, Sammy. Hope the weather behaves and the O's notch win #1. Have a great time in the "House that Cal built". -- Al

Sammy:

Enjoy it, there is nothing like seeing a live MLB game!

“Welcome back to SportsCenter Presented by ESPN Bet, for more on the Ohtani situation we go to our FanDuel MLB Insider Jeff Passan at our DraftKings Studio in Los Angeles brought to you by Caesar’s Sportsbook. Jeff, how could something like this happen?”

Great post.

I am going to take a huge chance and say that the Dodgers win the World Series this year.

I see the Phillies and Angels pitching are holding up well.^&grin

Ugly loss For the Nats in Cinncy today. Nats closer Finnegan had 2 down in the bottom of the 9th, with a 5-3 lead, then boom, double, Hr, game tied, Hr again, game lost 6-5. I hate when that happens. -- Al

It is so great to be watching Giants games again even if they are mediocre (at best).

I watched the Dodgers-Giants game on the MLB pay network. They must be having some type of free preview going on. It is weird because instead of commercials between innings, they run some type of blurry slow-motion image of a player running on the field. It is like being concussed or hypnotized to watch that over and over.

Got to watch the Dodgers for the first time this season and my impression was this, if I was the opposing pitcher, I would be inclined to scream in frustration. There are no dead spots, no where to relax, no where to go for an easy out in that batting order. -- Al

Bryce Harper broke out of his 0 for the season start tonight by slamming 3 Hr's and getting 6 RBI's in the Phillies 9-4 win over the Reds. Nice game, Bryce. -- Al

Turnbull looked pretty good in his debut, too, especially as far as strikeouts and walks go, 7 to none.

The other good news for the Phillies was sending Connor Brogdon back down to Triple-A. Now if they could just find someone else than Alvarado...

Prost!
Brad

Maybe I just missed it while I wasn’t watching but how is Logan Webb an ace?

Last year he went 11-13 with a 3.25 era and after 2 starts this year he is 0-1 with a 6.52 era.

By using the same measure that says Strider leads the majors in wins and K's in 2023 and doesn't win the CYA. -- Al

Even at this early stage of the season I can tell the Giants can’t keep pace with the Dodgers.

The MLB Players Association is now claiming that the pitch clock is responsible for recent pitching injuries.

Ferguson Jenkins (among other pitchers) pitched an unprecedented amount of complete games in eras that had game times at, or often below, current pitch clock game times.

All with no injuries.
