I'll also add that my own preference is to listen to the games on the radio. Radio is a much better medium for baseball; in fact, radio and baseball "grew up" together.
TV broadcasts irritate me. For one thing, most of the TV broadcasters I see are pretty lousy at calling games, and the radio broadcasters I listen to are much, much better.
Also, radio broadcasts are still free, though I see the trend towards bringing even radio broadcast into pay media, like online streaming. Fewer stations carry games, too, or don't have the range they used to.
I do like former players as color commentators or play-by-play men, though some just can't pull it off.
And another thing about TV broadcasts is the female broadcasters. Most appear to have been added in the name of equality instead of quality or skill, as eye candy. And the TV broadcasts will cut away from exciting action to go to Ashleigh in the camera well, talking about how she asked the manager his feelings, or his favorite barbecue stand, or something else stupid like that. Radio doesn't have that. Even when the broadcasters host someone in the booth, the continue calling the game.
And Joe Buck is horrible, at football as well as baseball. Can do without him.
But radio-sitting outside on a summer evening, listening to Scott Franzke and Larry Anderson call the Phillies games, and glass of beer or two-it doesn't get much better than that.
Prost!
