I can see the furrowed brows already!

Why do we need a thread for Moe's models?

Well, about three weeks ago I reported a spam thread to the moderators.

A conscientious member of the forum staff understandably went nuclear on the no-goodskie and eliminated his account.

However, a problem arose when an errant "click" resulted in my account being expunged instead!:redface2:

Steps were taken to restore my account through some fairly involved technical measures.

As a result, I still haunt the TF forum! ^&grin

However, an unforeseen and unresolvable problem emerged shortly, thereafter.

ALL the images that I had stored here at TF are gone from the posts into which they were embedded{eek3}

The posts look normal, but the pics, hundreds of them are lost.

This is not immediately obvious, as there is no photobucket-style icon revealing the bad news.

Likewise, there is no sign of a broken link.

The pics simply are lost unto the ether!

Because I'm something of a chronicler of Jenkins' models, it'd be great if I could restore the threads that I contributed to here in the JJD forum.

However, this simply isn't practical, as I have no idea exactly what it was that was in the threads to begin with, or in what order.

Instead, I'm going to try and post what amounts to a "summary" of the images in THIS thread, albeit without the meandering text. :wink2:

I think it's worthwhile to the extent that it'll give collectors who are interested in KotS an opportunity to see what the models look alike and such.

Rather than post individual images of it all back into this thread, I'll likely be doing a lot of the slide-show style presentations that I've posted recently.

That will reduce the drain that my pics impose on "the system."

If there are no objections, then, I shall begin reinventing my forum presence below.

Thank you for your patience,:)

Well, let me begin with some new content!

I've put together a slide-show of IWA-10, '"Black 10," the XO's plane from VF-6 that was assigned to Saratoga in the thirties:

Moe,

Sorry you lost all of your pictures. Thanks for starting over and showing what you have.

Thanks, Steve. I've got a LOT, but I'll try not to monopolize the forum by constantly bumping the thread up over more recent news.

Hi Mike,

Simply discussing this can be confusing for readers, in that there are still images which appear in my posts on the forum. These fall into two categories, ones that I used a file hosting service for (which could disappear tomorrow) and those that I linked to the forum through a service like Google images. Again, however, everything that I uploaded to the TF-forum is toast. I don't mean to belabor the point, but the understanding might keep members from scratching their heads when they come across an old post of mine that contains pics, hehe, although they are far and few between now!;) And thanks for saving my pics, you are a true and dear friend!:)

Wait, you got busted to private and then promoted back up to S-MGR?

Seriously though, I feel your pain with the loss of the images. Look forward to your new pictures.

Hi Matt,

The pics will reappear, but in a different format. I just have to format them for a slide-show and upload them to YT. This is actually a whole lot less work than the original task of capturing and editing the images.
Thanks for the moral support!:salute::

ACE-32
Airco DH.2
Lanoe Hawker

I probably took more pics of Jenkins' DH.2 than any other model. I think that I was concerned that it would go unsold because it is relatively more expensive than the other models. Apparently, I needn't have worried as I've noticed that several dealers are sold out of the set. This is good!

More ACE-32...

And given my prodigious picture-taking on the DH.2, a second slideshow of the model in display with Jenkins ground crew, pilots and scenic sets:

Note that one of the scenes contains two WBritain sets. Sorry, I just couldn't resist!:wink2:

Moe,

I really apreciate your slideshow. Very well done, and your dioramas are superbly done too.

Serge. :)

Posted a new slide-show to Youtube:

The file focuses on Jenkins' Sopwith Camel and BGC sets. The individual images are actually from three different threads that I had devoted to that same combination of figures and models. Rather than post three slideshows, I decided to do a summary of some of the more interesting pics that I saved. Guess I'm getting lazy!;)

Nice collection Moe, also the music track. Chris

Another nice one Moe . . . . . Before I even read Chris' comment I was thinking the same thing he was - nice sound track . . . . .

Thank you, Mike. The slideshow is formatted in 1080p, but will display in mobile format when viewed on an iPhone or tablet. I figured this out when I went looking for my slideshows on my new “smart” television. Found ‘em, and WOW, what a difference! Hehe, I must have watched slideshows for an hour.;)

Moe,

Keep the videos coming always enjoy them. You put a lot of thought into your bios.
