Moe, this latest video is "Aces" in more ways than one . . . .
:smile2: Mike
Moe, loved the slideshow and the glass case is aces, but I had to kill the soundtrack.^&grin -- Al
Very nice slide show and excellent lighting effects. Sound track was a bit odd for me but enjoyed viewing. Chris

An excellent choice Moe. And may I suggest the theme to Where Eagles Dare, another favorite, on your next project? :smile2: Chris
Fantastic shots, Moe. It's like I'm right on the flight deck, involved in operations. Noisy and windy, it doesn't get any better. -- Al
Fantastic photos Moe . . . . . The effect of the B&W photography adds a certain amount of realism to the scene . . . . Looks like you are having as much enjoyment out of this range as I am . . . . 2018 is going to be a great year to collect John's carrier aviation offerings . . .

It is obvious that the first photo is where James Dietz took his inspiration for his painting 'The Professionals', only he actually did flip the the viewing angle. Great photos and a great painting by Dietz.^&cool -- AlI mentioned that there is some nice B&W photography available from the "mid-late forties." Here are a couple of relevant examples:
The first may look like it's flipped or something. Nope. The Saratoga had arrestor-gear both fore and aft so that it could continue operating were part of the deck damaged. What we see is the ship operating in reverse and launching planes over its stern.
The second pic is an F4B-3, BTW. The "tell" in this regard is the barely visible U.S. NAVY painted on the underside of the bottom wing. F4B-4 never got that treatment. There are a couple of other visual clues, but that block lettering is the dead-giveaway.
