I was messing around to today going through some figure parts bins and found some pieces to try a Russian cuirassier. The legs are from a Timpo Pruusian the head and arms are from an Italeri dragoon. The body is I believe from Helmet??? and the cartridge box is from an Italeri hussar. The rest is all green putty.

I really like the scratchbuilt Russian cavalryman - if manufacturers wont or cant make it then this is the answer for any figure

I got around today to getting some paint on that Russian cuirassier and also found some Italeri horses that I had converted ages ago but never did anything with them. So I threw a quick coat of paint on them, I still need to do some highlighting on them.
Now I need to convert some wounded riders for them, maybe a couple of guys getting thrown off horses??? I did this dismounted Prussian hussar to stand behind the dead and wounded horses now I just need to chop up a few more.

Fish,

Are using a flash or a spotlight?

Just the flash on the camera. I get a lot or blurry pictures so I just take a whole bunch of pictures and sort through them to find the better of the bunch to post.

Well, you picked some good ones. I've been using the macro plus a small spot along with the room's over head florescent light. My flash washes out the subjects.

Scott try backing up with the camera and then zooming in, I find my camara gets a better focused picture from a bit more distance then it dose up close and that might help with the flash also. My camera dosen,t have this marcro setting I always hear you guys talk about.

Just keep shooting a bunch of pics at different angles and see what works, if you shoot 100 pics one is bound to turn out OK????:rolleyes2:

Here are a couple more Prussian cavalry conversions These dragoons were converted from CTS Mexican cavalry figures.
