More Napoleonic conversions (3 Viewers)

Fish you're killing me! Nice work on the conversions. I thought the guys in the one pic were dancing the Mamushka!. Enjoying the work.

CLASS OF 1812!!!!
More work progress on my second batch of Cossack conversions. I added a few more with various types of Cossack Hats. I still might do a few more???? Most of them are just about finished, they still need some touching up here and there and then I,ll get them primed and start on painting them up.

I just finished getting paint on the first half of my new Cossack conversions, I have 7 more painted also but they are still waiting on horses to be painted for them.
Here are some pics!
I painted the first 4 as Don Cossacks and the rest are Ural irregular Cossacks.

Love the conversions, but my favorite is definitely the cossack with the balalaika strapped to his back while in combat! That is epic!

Hey Nic, if you,ve ever been to a Who or Hendrix concert or seen any concert photage you would know that that can be a very deadly weapon!!!{eek3}:rolleyes2:::tongue: Maybe even more deadly if you heard the guy playing the thing! I hear some mob hit men actaully had violins in those cases and would torture there victoms with bad violin playing!!!

excellent work Fish - real character

next maybe you should do charge of the light brigade 1854

It,s been a long time since I posted anything on here or even worked on anything! I,ve been bored and started cutting up some plastic hussars and converting them into Russian hussars. Here are some rough stage photos! lets see if I can stay bored long enough to finish converting them and get some paint on them?

Great work on the Cossacks and the Hussars are looking good too! Cant wait to see them in action as well

Great work Tim, must be nice to "make" the figures you want!

A bugbear of mine has been when the lances are pointed at the sky. Is it possible to cut and pin the arms so that the first rank are leveling theirs to strike?

Lol! You pour any molten hot lead into any exploding coffee cups lately??? Ahh, the good old days!

Here are a couple of flash back threads! I was trying to look back to where this all got started? I think it was pat wade contacted me to try and make a figure of you and your exploding coffee cup when you tried filling it with molten hot lead and then you posted back with a pic of a fish headed figure and it took off from there! Then others got involved and the fun continued for awhile there!
I found these 2 threads where brad had gotten involved, will have to search for the rest.

I got around to doing a bit more work on these russian hussars, I added a piece of wire wrapped around the lances for the hand grips and added the blades on top with 2 part putty. I just need to file them down and shape them a bit now. I also need to do the saddles over as french saddles and russian saddles are different. I couldn,t resist jumping ahead and painting a few to see how they would paint up.

I found this figure today searching through castings on ebay today and it inspired me to try and scratch build one of my own. It a a plague doctor and here is what I have so far!

That is excellent - Well Done !

You can almost smell the Herbs in the beak.

Thank you for posting.

I,m having trouble getting the saddles done for theses hussars, they are going to take to long sculpting with 2 part putty so I,m going to try this thin copper flashing that I used for the flags on the lances. Its real thin and you can cut it with a scissors and I also used a pen to draw on the saddle design. I just need to see how it paints up and if it will look alright when painted up???
