More Napoleonic conversions (3 Viewers)

You might have noticed some Austrians in the back ground, I,m also working on a few of them, chopping up a few and reworking the pants legs to the Hungarian style uniform with the skinny pants. I painted one up to see how it would look. You can see the regular style Austrian uniform on the other 2 painted figures.

Ok! I did some more work on the plague doctor, but it is tough waiting for the putty to dry. I keep messing up the work I have done already trying to do more thinking the putty is dry.:mad: still a long way to go but here is what I have so far. I think I have to lower the belt a bit, I have it to high.

Been out of the hobby for a bit but I got laid off for awhile because of this Covid crap so I,ve had a lot of free time so I got back to doing some conversions and finishing up a few things that had been sitting around. I picked up a bunch of the new Ex-Force Napoleonic figures and have been working on converting them into Russian cavalry. The horses and saddles helped me in getting my Russian hussar project finished, or at least back on track. And the french carbineirs will make good conversions into Russian Cuirassiers. Still have a way to but here is where I,m at, getting pretty close to finishing them up. I lost my hobby space so I,m stuck working on my basement computer desk. image7.jpegimage5 (1).jpegimage6 (1).jpegimage4 (2).jpeg

The bugler and the fallen rider were a bit of work I pieced them together from various parts and green putty and a bit of sculpting. I also had to rework the other figures a bit to turn them into russians. The helmets had to be reworked and carved up and and reworked there shoulders and sculped shoulder straps. I also had to rework all the horses. I used the saddles and horses from the Ex-force polish lancers and British hussars for the Russian Hussars and I am reworking TSSD horses for the Cuirassiers, they had to have there saddles removed and re-sculpted into Russian saddles, (still working on that part! I also converted a few horses (britains recasts I believe?) I used some foil and green putty for the saddles. image0 (1).jpegimage2 (3).jpegimage0 (6).jpegimage2.jpegimage2 (6).jpeg

That is great work, keep on posting I love to see what people can do with converting,

John

A bit more progress on the project, I,m working on sculpting the saddles for the cuirassiers and got a little more paint done. image1 (9).jpegimage1 (10).jpegimage1 (8).jpegimage2 (9).jpeg

I got some more paint on the Russian hussar conversions also, 8 out of 17 done! half way there on the hussars. image5.jpegimage3.jpegimage0 (3).jpegimage0 (5)2.jpegimage1 (1).jpeg

Here is a quick easy conversion for the new Ex-Force Polish lancers. The figures didn,t come with plumes so I added my own. I had a bunch kicking around in the spare head box from some hat French so I didn,t have to make my own. I used a guitar string a (G-string .017) to pin the plumes to the hats, I just used a pointed pick end of this hooby tool to make a hole in each end about a 1/4" and cut a 1/2" piece of guitar string and super glued them together. Another thing that bugs me is the officers have two swords so I cut off the top of the swords in the sword cases. IMG_0888.JPGIMG_0885.JPGIMG_0891.JPGIMG_0895.JPGIMG_0901.JPG

Outstanding work on your conversions, very well done indeed !:salute:: {bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}

I was short one horse for my Russian hussars so I had to sculpt a new saddle on another horse. I had to cut off the old saddle and used green stuff putty to make a new one. IMG_0956.JPGIMG_0957.JPGIMG_0958.JPG

I finished painting the rest of the hussars and cuirassiers and started painting a French wagon and field forge also. IMG_0942.JPGIMG_0947.JPGIMG_0953.JPG
