Steven Spielberg's professional dream was to direct a James Bond movie, "When I first started making movies, the only franchise I cared about and wanted to be part of was James Bond. When I started out as a TV director, my pie-in-the-sky dream was to make a little movie that would get some notoriety, and then [Bond producer] Cubby Broccoli would call me and ask me to direct the next James Bond picture. But I could never get Cubby Broccoli to hire me."
After directing the hits JAWS and CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND, Spielberg asked Broccoli for a chance at 007, “I called Cubby Broccoli twice, and after JAWS which was such a huge success, I thought ‘Hey people are giving me final cut now.’ So I called up Cubby and offered my services, but he didn’t think I was right for the part. Then even after CLOSE ENCOUNTERS came out and was a big hit – once again – I tried to get on a Bond film and now they can’t afford me." Spielberg later said, "I never asked again. Instead I made the INDIANA JONES series."
Spielberg added with a humorous note, “Cubby asked me permission to use the famous five musical notes in CLOSE ENCOUNTERS for MOONRAKER. I said sure and by the way, do you have a slot for me for Bond and he said no!”

OBI-WAN KENOBI---Disney+ announced that the miniseries premiere was its most-watched original series premiere ever, "Thank you to the best fans in the galaxy for making #ObiWanKenobi the most-watched @disneyplus Original series premiere globally to date, based on hours streamed in an opening weekend." Disney+ did not release any actual figures.

STRANGER THINGS---the Season 4 premiere broke a Netflix record with over 287 million hours viewed from May 23-May 30.

THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT---Kaley Cucuo thinks two seasons is enough, “Now, I’m like, ‘Well, we did two. We should probably be done.’ And I think I’ve been outnumbered with that thought. There’s definitely interest in doing a third season. I think for me, at this moment, the plane has landed."
She added, “It’s going to take a lot of thought to make sure if we go back that it’s better than the last two, which is very hard to do. I think the writers and the team did a really beautiful job in tying it up in a pretty bow. But if you had to open the bow, it would be okay.”

FURIOSA---Chris Hemsworth posted a photo to mark the MAD MAX: FURY ROAD prequel has begun filming in Australia.

THE EXORCIST---Ellen Burstyn is returning as actress Chris McNeill in the David Gordon Green (HALLOWEEN reboots) reboot of the classic 1973 horror movie. Burstyn said she has already filmed her scenes, "On the new set, because I’ve already shot the new version, nothing weird happened, no. There was a lot of weirdness on the first one, but there’s a lot of weirdness in every movie." The reboot movie has the parent of a possessed child seeking advice from McNeill.

FARZAR---Netflix released the synopsis for the animated sci fi comedy tv series, "From the creators of Brickleberry and Paradise PD, Roger Black and Waco O'Guin, comes the outrageous sci-fi animated comedy series Farzar. Egotistical human warrior Renzo liberated the planet Farzar from the evil alien Bazarack, and then established a human settlement under a huge dome, becoming the Czar of Farzar. Years later, Farzar is under attack by the evil aliens once again and Renzo’s well-meaning and not-so-bright son Prince Fichael ventures out with his special crew “S.H.A.T.” (Special Hostile Assault Team!), made up of a human-solider-turned-cyborg (Scootie), clashing conjoined twins (Val and Mal), an unhinged scientist (Barry Barris), a highly incapable mutant (Billy) and a mischievous little alien known as a chaos-celot. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3---Daniela Melchior is appearing in the sequel but not as Moondragon, as rumored, and not as the "unannounced actor" mentioned by James Gunn.

NETFLIX---after losing over 200,000 subscribers and seeing its stock lose 44% of its value in the first quarter, Netflix is revamping its movie operations. It will focus on quality instead of quantity with a focus on "bigger" and "better" movies. It will de-emphasize its animated, family live-action and original independent projects.

ENCINO MAN---Pauly Shore said a sequel to the 1992 movie that starred Brendan Fraser, Sean Astin and Shore is being discussed, “I know Disney+ is talking about possibly doing the sequel. If they want me to do it and the script was right and Brendan and Sean were on board and it made sense, I would do it for the fans! It’s what George [Zaloom, who wrote ENCINO MAN] has been working on. So ask him about it.”
Zaloom said, “If you ask me ‘Is there going to be another ENCINO MAN?’ — I don’t know! I’m not going to say yes. I’m not going to say no. We may be pleasantly surprised.”

TWISTED METAL---Will Arnett will be the voice of Sweet Tooth in the Peacock animated series based on the game.

TRIVIA---John Houseman is best known for his Academy Award-winning role as Prof. Charles Kingsfield in THE PAPER CHASE and his Smith Barney tv commercials ("They make money the old fashioned way---they earn it."). ARACHNOPHOBIA---remake underway of the 1990 spider invasion movie that starred Jeff Daniels and John Goodman. Christopher Landon (FREAKY) is the writer/director.

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON---George RR Martin commented on early footage from the GAME OF THRONES spinoff series, “House of the Dragon? Glad you asked. I’ve now watched rough cuts of nine of the ten episodes, and I continue to be impressed. I cannot speak to the SFX, many of which are not in yet, but the look of it is great, and the acting, the directing, and writing are first rate.”
He added, “And yes, for all you book fans, it IS my story. Sure, there are some changes from Fire & Blood — we could not present three alternative versions of every major event, not and keep our sanity — but I think Ryan Condal and his writers made good choices. Even some improvements… For years, as some of you may recall, I have been saying the TV version of Shae, as portrayed by Sibel Kekilli, was a deeper, richer, and more nuanced character than the Shae in my novels. In a similar vein, I am vastly impressed by the show’s version of King Viserys, played by Paddy Considine, who gives the character a tragic majesty that my book Viserys never quite achieved.”

GALAXY QUEST---Missi Pyle commented on the proposed sequel to the 1999 STAR TREK parody movie, "I remember when we made the film. It was kind of a sleeper movie, I think. Obviously, there's that moment when all of a sudden Sigourney Weaver's top is sort of down a little bit, they didn't really know what movie they had, it was mainly PG-13 and then they wanted to make it PG, they cut out a bunch of stuff. Then it really wasn't the kids movie that they were looking to make. And then it became this kind of solid hit and it has such great legs, people just love this movie.
I ran into Dean Parisot a few years after we made it and he's like, 'I already told the story we needed to tell.' And then 10 years later, I heard something maybe was going to happen and then they begin to make a TV show and I've been reached out to a few times. Then with Alan Rickman passing, I think the idea of doing it with the same cast is over, but I know that there's another script out there. I don't know what's going to happen, could be a series. I wouldn't be surprised, and I say why not? It was such a lightning in a bottle, I have to say, with that group of people."
Earlier this year, Simon Pegg said he is in talks to develop a tv series version of the movie.

TRON 3---director Joseph Kosinski commented on the shelved sequel TRON: ASCENSION, “I got so close. I really tried. But it was a different Disney by 2015. When I made TRON: LEGACY, they didn’t own Marvel; they didn’t own STAR WARS. We were the play for fantasy and science fiction.
And once you’ve got those other things under your umbrella, it makes sense that you’re going to put your money into a known property and not the weird art student with black fingernails in the corner – that was TRON. And that’s okay.
Had I made TRON: ASCENSION, I wouldn’t have made ONLY THE BRAVE, and I wouldn’t have made the movies I made. But remember, the first TRON was not a hit when it came out. It’s a cult classic. And if TRON: LEGACY's becoming the same thing, I couldn’t be more thrilled.”

ISLE OF THE DEAD---Jeffrey Dean Morgan posted about THE WALKING DEAD spinoff series set in Manhattan, "Cool. Here’s what I’ll say about #isleofthedead I’m BEYOND excited. CATCHING DUST---Erin Moriarity and Jai Courtney star in this movie about a criminal and his wife, who hide out in a trailer in an abandoned commune until a trailer with a New York couple movie in with dire consequences.

IS IT CAKE?---Netflix renewed the series for Season 2.

TRIVIA---Chuck Connors is best known for starring in THE RIFLEMAN, the hit Western tv series that ran on ABC from 1958-1963. Before he became an actor, the 6' 5" Connors was only one of 13 pro athletes who played in both Major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association. While with the NBA's Boston Celtics, Connors became the first professional basketball player to shatter a backboard. It occurred in a pre-game practice in the Celtics' first home game of their first season with a shot instead of a slam dunk.

SCRUBS---the cast and creator Bill Lawrence would like to return for a revival series if they can work schedules problems out. Zach Braff said, “We’re gonna do it because we’re lucky enough that people care. Top to bottom, we enjoy spending time with each other. If you ever have an excuse to work with people that you’d want to spend time with anyways, run to it…It’s worth it to me to see Neil [Flynn] back in that jumpsuit again.”

SCREAM 6---Dermot Mulroney is in negotiations to join the sequel cast. However, Neve Campbell said she is not returning due to a salary dispute, “Sadly I won’t be making the next Scream film. As a woman, I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream. I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise. It’s been a very difficult decision to move on. To all my Scream fans, I love you. You’ve always been so incredibly supportive to me. I’m forever grateful to you and to what this franchise has given me over the past 25 years.”

TRIVIA---June 6, 2022 is the 78th anniversary of the D-Day invasion.
In the D-Day epic THE LONGEST DAY, Hans Christian Blech played Maj. Werner Pluskat, the first German soldier to see the massive Allied invasion on Omaha Beach. Pluskat phoned his commanding officer, "The invasion has come! Five thousand ships, there - there must be over five thousand ships out there!" His commanding officer did not believe Pluskat, "The Americans and the British don't have half as that many ships all together...My dear Pluskat, what course are these ships heading for?" Pluskat angrily replied. "Straight for me!!!"
However, according to Pluskat's artillery lieutenant Frerking,and other soldiers, when the Allied invasion was spotted, Frerking attempted to find Pluskat at headquarters, in his bunker and in his quarters, but he was not there. "It was common knowledge" that Pluskat was with four prostitutes in a bordello in Caen on D-Day.
Ironically, Pluskat was an advisor on the Omaha Beach scenes during filming.

In THE LONGEST DAY, Maj. Werner Pluskat was the first German soldier to see "over five thousand ships" of the Allied D-Day invasion headed towards Omaha Beach. Pluskat was an advisor on THE LONGEST DAY, but in reality Pluskat was in a French bordello with four prostitutes on D-Day.

SILENT HILL---Christophe Gans said he has finished the script for the third movie in the franchise, “SILENT HILL is a bit like THE TWILIGHT ZONE, the fourth dimension, a place where anything and everything can happen. I worked on a new SILENT HILL which is a SILENT HILL of the year 2023 – because the film would be released next year – and not a SILENT HILL as I imagined it in 2006. It is a SILENT HILL for today’s audiences while being ultra respectful of the saga.”

SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE PART ONE---art shows the sequel villain The Spot (voice by Jason Schwartzman). Co-director Kemp Powers said, “For those who are not hardcore canon nerds, The Spot is one of the deepest cuts in Spider-Man’s rogue gallery. But he has a super-power that really excited our entire team: His entire body is covered in little interdimensional portals that can send him anywhere he wants to go.”
Also, Sony Pictures is releasing the extended version of NO WAY HOME titled SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME: THE MORE FUN STUFF VERSION on Labor Day weekend.

CAPTAIN AMERICA---Chris Evans commented on rumors he will return as Captain America in a future project, “That seems to be something people would like to see. I don’t want to disappoint anybody, but it’s tough to… It was such a good run and I’m so happy with it. It’s so precious to me. It would have to be perfect. It just would be scary to rattle something that is, again, so dear to me. That role means so much to me. So, to revisit it, it would be a tall order.”

HALLOWEEN---producer Jason Blum commented on if HALLOWEEN ENDS will be the last movie in the franchise, "I didn't say it's gonna be the last HALLOWEEN movie. It's our last HALLOWEEN movie. We have no more rights to make any more HALLOWEEN, so it goes back to Malek [Akkad] and what he does, only he knows, but we are done. This is our last one, and I think people will be very happy."

KNIVES OUT---Rian Johnson posted the sequel title is GLASS ONION: A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY.

JAMES BOND---a British tabloid claims its inside source said Idris Elba is in talks to be the next James Bond, "Idris has long been in talks to play a role in the next era of James Bond's story and last year was being considered for a role as an antagonist."
The source added, "However, talks surrounding him playing the lead have started again as producers realized how popular he would be after carrying out secret market research. He ranked highly among the diverse group of movie buffs invited to participate in it. They didn't want to see him as a nemesis, they want him as the hero."

STAR TREK---Kate Mulgrew said she is interested in returning for a possible STAR TREK live-action project, "Well, I think PICARD is done, unless I'm quite mistaken. I think they've finished, but it's not likely that Janeway will show up on PICARD. But who knows what will happen to her in the future? There seems to be, as I said to you earlier, a tremendous resurgence here, a rather vital one. So for the first time, I'm actually looking at it with new eyes. I wonder what would happen if Janeway were to come back to live-action. There are many more surprises in store, so I have to be careful. She is an admiral, but she is capable of surprising even herself, and what is coming will be entirely unexpected and will then turn into something pretty wonderful, taking this into an altogether new season for Janeway in her several incarnations."

DOCTOR WHO---showrunner Russell T. Davies announced that Neil Patrick Harris has joined the cast of the 60th Anniversary special, “It’s my huge honour to open our studio doors for the mighty Neil Patrick Harris… but who, why, what is he playing? You’ll just have to wait. But I promise you, the stuff we’re shooting now is off the scale. Doctor beware!”

THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE WAR OF THE ROHIRRIM---Warner Bros. OBI-WAN KENOBI---the Disney+ 5 1/2 hour miniseries will be shown in select Cineplex theaters on June 22. A live question-and-answer is included.

DOCTOR WHO---Neil Patrick Harris will play the villain in the 60th Anniversary special. Speculation is that the villain is the Toymaker, who was played by Michael Gough in the 1966 version.

AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM---Amber Heard's spokesperson replied to a source which claimed Heard has been removed from the sequel after the Johnny Depp lawsuit trial and her role will be reshot with another actress, "The rumor mill continues as it has from Day One -- inaccurate, insensitive, and slightly insane."

OBI-WAN KENOBI---Hayden Christensen, like Ewan McGregor, said he would like to return for a sequel to the Disney+ miniseries, “Well, it was definitely conceived as a standalone story. But I would love to continue with this character. You know, I think there’s certainly more there to explore and I would be so excited to get to do so."
Director Deborah Chow said, “You know, we always did conceive of this as a limited series. So it’s not an adventure-of-the-week sort of story. It’s one big story with a beginning, middle and end. So I think this story was very much conceived to be its own standalone.
I mean, there are of course more stories that you could tell. There’s obviously another 10 years before we get to A NEW HOPE and with a character like Obi-Wan Kenobi, I think even just watching him ride across the sand sometimes is interesting. So, who knows? It’s hard to say right now, but it was not the intention.”

THE FLASH---inside sources claim Warner Bros. has decided to dump Ezra Miller from future DC superhero projects after his erratic behavior and run-ins with the law. THE FLASH has scored high with test audiences, and the studio is considering its options of recasting and reshooting The Flash role, taking a write-down or releasing it on HBO Max instead of in theaters.

HERCULES---Guy Ritchie will direct the Walt Disney live-action remake of the animated movie.

SNOWPIERCER---TNT announced that the upcoming Season 4 will be the last season.

FANTASTIC FOUR---Chris Evans commented about returning as Johnny Storm in a possible sequel, “God, wouldn’t that be great? Wouldn’t that be great?. No, no one’s ever come to me about that. I mean, I don’t exactly look the same anymore. That was 15, almost 20 years ago. Oh my God, I’m old. But I really love that character, but I think… aren’t they doing something now with FANTASTIC FOUR?
I would love it. That would actually be an easier sell to me than coming back as Cap. You know what I mean? Cap is so precious to me. And you know, I almost don’t wanna disrupt what a beautiful experience that was. But Johnny Storm, I feel like he didn’t really get his day. That was before Marvel really found its footing. So, I loved that role and, you know, who knows.”

MS. MARVEL---the tv series drew 775,000 viewers in its first five days which is the lowest premiere for a Disney+/Marvel series. By comparison, the next-lowest series was HAWKEYE which had 1.5 million viewers in its first five days.

SHERLOCK HOLMES 3---director Dexter Fletcher commented on the status of the sequel, “The pandemic derailed it. I do think it will get made. I think it has to be made. I don’t know what the timeline of that is, unfortunately, but I believe it should be. It’s fantastic. I think it’s about all the right people being at the right place, at the right time. I think it’s that.
It’s one of those cruel twists of fate, where the pandemic hit and that scattered people around the world to the wind. But I know that the appetite is huge for it, and I’m sure there are other people acutely aware of that as well. But I believe it should be because it’s brilliant. I very much hope so.”

WONDER MAN---VARIETY writer Joe Otterson said the Disney+/Marvel Studios tv series might be a Hollywood satire, "I have also heard that this show could be a Hollywood satire, but that is not 100% confirmed. It would make sense given Wonder Man's backstory as an actor and stuntman in the comics"

HOLLAND, MICHIGAN---Nicole Kidman will star in this Amazon Studios movie about a woman who begins an affair after her husband cheats on her and discovers his dark, secret life.

In DIE ANOTHER DAY, director Lee Tamahori originally wanted Sean Connery to return as James Bond along with Pierce Brosnan as Bond. Tamahori mistakenly thought that "James Bond 007" was a codename for a MI6 agent. He would have had Pierce Brosnan's James Bond 007 being dismissed by MI6, and he would encounter Sean Connery's ex-James Bond 007, who would help him clear his name and return to MI6. And I obviously, without giving out a lot of spoiler alerts, I see where they’re going. And we see what's manifesting itself with Henry, my son. We've learned the truth of that. But there's a moment when Nancy is in the sort of red upside down – underworld, Salvador Dali floating things, and stalactites and stalagmites and bits and pieces of Hawkins, and the roots growing everywhere. And there's a voiceover there, and (Vecna) talks about me. ‘Old Victor. Oh, I haven't seen old Victor in a while.’ … He says, ‘Well, maybe… I've been so, so busy. But maybe I should revisit him or something.’ So, I don't know what that means. I don't know if that's just the writing reaffirming to the audience the relationship between the two, you know? Henry, Victor, Victor, Vecta. Or if it means that he's got to come back and kill me, you know? Or he wants to relish my death because as a father, I let him down. That I had been responsible and I'm a hypocrite, like he says to 11. I'm a hypocrite, and I was responsible for a baby's death during World War II and all of that."

1923---Paramount+ announced the YELLOWSTONE spinoff prequel starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren has changed its title from 1932 to 1923, and its synopsis says, “1923 focuses on the Dutton family’s next two generations as they struggle to survive historic drought, lawlessness and prohibition, and an epidemic of cattle theft; all battled beneath the cloud of Montana’s great depression, which preceded the nation by almost a decade."

STAR TREK: PICARD---showrunner Terry Matalas said the last season, Season 3, will be a THE NEXT GENERATION reunion, “I didn’t want to make anything that they didn’t want to make… They all have big things to do. We all meet them and find out where they are now. And some of those answers as to what they’re doing now are unexpected. So I wanted them to be happy and have input… They’ve lived with these characters. They go to the conventions. They know the stories that matter to these people.”
He added, “For Gates [McFadden], I wanted to make sure that Crusher really had a very strong story. That was a fascinating – it’s a fascinating character who let her son go off into the universe, who had once had a romantic relationship with Captain Picard. And where are they now?
And sitting with LeVar and saying: ‘Here’s what I think’s going to happen to Geordi.’ And LeVar [Burton] made me cry. There was a moment when I pitched it and he was so emotional and I got emotional. I was like, ‘This is one of those cool moments.’ They had to be happy or else I wouldn’t have felt good… And all of them brought really great ideas to it.”
Matalas continued, "We don’t get to Miles O’Brien. I’d love to get to Miles O’Brien! There are people though — I could say one name to you right now that comes back, and [you’d be] like, ‘Oh my god, I want to know what happens!’ You’re going to find out. So I would love nothing more than to stay in the 2401 year to tell more STAR TREK stories in this universe… so that’s all I will say."
He also commented on future spinoffs, "Uhh…. uhh…. [pause] …if this was a printed interview, you’d say, ‘The showrunner smiled devilishly.’ I think, to me, this is a period of time in the STAR TREK universe I’d love to spend more time in. There’s nothing less than 30 legacy characters across DEEP SPACE NINE, VOYAGER and NEXT GEN that you’d love to check-in and see — you can’t get to them all in [PICARD] Season 3."

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON---HBO Max released a poster of the GAME OF THRONES prequel series.

HORIZON---Kevin Costner commented on his four-movie saga that covers the settling of the West over 15 years, “What [the studio does] with it will really be up to them because things change really quickly in how people want to see things and what they want to do. I’m happiest because at one point in TV – where you can get your largest audience – they’re going to get to see it the way I intended it to be seen.
It will eventually be cut up into [hour-long episodes] or 42 minutes – however TV works. But their first viewing of it will be as four 2 hour and 45-minute movies. And every three months, one will come out. If you’re interested in those characters, the hope is that you’ll really want to watch the next one, but it won’t be in hour segments.”

SPELLBOUND---Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem and John Lithgow star in this animated fantasy movie about a young girl who must end the spell that has split her kingdom into two parts.

TRIVIA---in the original STAR TREK, the character of Chekov was added in order to attract a younger audience, such as Davy Jones in the then-popular MONKEES tv series. In a 1966 internal production memo, Gene Roddenberry told his casting director, “Keeping our teenage audience in mind, also keeping aware of current trends, let’s watch for a young…Beatles type, Like the smallish fellow who looks to be a hit on The Monkees.”
Walter Koenig, who played Cheov, said he was given a wig to wear which somewhat resembled the long hair worn by The Monkees and The Beatles, “They put me in a lady’s wig for my first six or seven episodes. My hair was already starting to thin, so they had to spray it and comb it forward. It took a little work to make me appealing to the preteen crowd.”

OBI-WAN KENOBI---Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy hinted that a sequel to the miniseries might be in the future, “Well, frankly, we did set out to do that as a limited series. But I think if there's huge engagement and people really want more Obi-Wan, we’ll certainly give that consideration because the fans, they speak to us. And if we feel like, ‘OK, there’s a real reason to do this; it's answering the why then,’ then we’ll do it. But we’ll see.”

INDIANA JONES 5---producer Frank Marshall assured fans the sequel will be what they want, "It's a great story, it's a great character, and I think you're going to be very happy with this movie. It's everything I think that everybody wants out of an Indiana Jones movie."

EAST OF EDEN---Florence Pugh will star in the Netflix miniseries based on the John Steinbeck novel. The writer is Zoe Kazan, granddaughter of Elia Kazan, who directed the 1955 movie version that starred James Dean.

BLADE---Wesley Snipes commented on the Marvel Studios reboot movie's R-rating, "I think those kind of stories lend themselves to a wide range of dialogue and situations. Both adult and young adult. I don't know, it seems like the R-rating and PG-13 base is sliding now because it seems that now the 13-year-olds can speak better words than the adults can. As long as it's true and organic to the subject matter, the plot, and the world that's created. If there's consistency, I think it's fine [to be PG-13]."

SPY KIDS---Zachary Levi and Gina Rodriguez will star in the reboot movie in which the kids of the world's greatest spies accidentally help a game developer unleash a virus that controls all technology, so they must make amends for their mistake. Robert Rodriguez is the co-writer/director/producer.

POKER FACE---Ellen Barkin has joined the cast of the Rian Johnson/Peacock tv series that is believed to be a crime anthology series. The cast includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Chloe Sevigny , Adrien Brody and Natasha Lyonne.

TRIVIA---in THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN, which was based on Michael Crichton's novel, a lab monkey was the Andromeda Strain's latest victim. The scene had the monkey in a cage on set filled with carbon dioxide. When the cage opened, the monkey breathed in the carbon dioxide and was rendered unconscious. Assistant director James Fargo, dressed in scuba gear, was nearby with a breathing apparatus which he used to revive the monkey immediately. Fargo's shadow can be seen approaching the cage and because the scene could be attempted only once, his shadow could not be edited out.
The ASPCA approved the scene, and one of its representatives was on the set when the scene was filmed.

GAME OF THRONES---George RR Martin commented on the Jon Snow spinoff series starring Kit Harington, "It was Kit Harrington who brought the idea to us. I cannot tell you the names of the writers/showrunners, since that has not been cleared for release yet… but Kit brought them in too, his own team, and they are terrific... Outlines and treatments have been written and approved, scripts have been written, notes have been given, second and third drafts have been written. So far, that’s all."
Emilia Clarke commented on if she would like to return as Daenerys for the spinoff series, "No, I think I'm done."

THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER---producer Lindsey Weber said the prequel series will include female Orcs, "There's some female Orcs that I truly loved. But there's one Orc in particular, who's very, very tall and strong, who has a particularly enjoyable fight with one of our Elven characters that I suspect will be, or hope will be a favorite among fans."

ROAD RAGE---the HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER team of Michael Rooker and director John McNaughton will reunite for this movie about a vigilante serial killer who kills only evil people who deserve to die.

LITTLEMOUTH---Dennis Quaid, Isabelle Fuhrman and David Thewlis star in this sci fi movie about a tech billionaire who hires a computer genius to work on a secret project with dire consequences.

EL CONDE---Netflix black comedy movie underway in which Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet was really a 250 year-old vampire.

JAKE CHANG---CW RIVERDALE spinoff series underway featuring the upcoming comic book 16 year-old Asian-American crime-solver.

TRIVIA---in FANTASTIC VOYAGE (Stephen Boyd, Raquel Welch), James Brolin is listed in the opening credits. Brolin plays the technician as the crew of the submarine Proteus prepares for miniaturization. Brolin is on screen for only eight seconds and says, "Here's the particle, Sir...All squared away, Sir."

Even if we took the STRANGER THINGS title off of it, I’m so, so excited about it. But it is not… It’s going to be different than what anyone is expecting, including Netflix.”

TOP GUN: MAVERICK---the sequel reached the global $1 billion mark which makes it Tom Cruise's biggest movie ever.

THE BLACK HOLE---director Joseph Kosinski (TOP GUN: MAVERICK) said his planned remake of the 1979 Walt Disney sci fi movie was cancelled because it was too similar to Christopher Nolan's INTERSTELLAR, “I still feel like that movie is one of the most unique that Disney’s ever made, the original, I mean. It’s wild. The idea of a journey to a black hole is still one of those things that is very intriguing because it’s not science fiction. They really exist, and all the effects that happen around them are real physics. So there is a great story to be told about that journey. I just, at this point, I haven’t figured out what that would be for me yet.”
Writer Jon Spaihts said about his remake script, “I loved that script. It sits uneasily in Disney’s world as a dark epic, and Disney is in a very colorful place. It was very faithful to the original but clever in all the ways in that first film was silly, I hope.”

DEADPOOL 3---co-writer Rhettt Reese commented on the sequel, “[It’s] a wonderful opportunity for fish-out-of-water [comedy]. Deadpool is a lunatic at the center of a movie… To drop a lunatic into a very sane world, it’s straight butter. It’s going to be really fun.
We’re absolutely finding the serendipity and the gold in that situation, or we’re trying to … Deadpool is gonna be Deadpool. Now when it comes to a particular joke, if we cross a line, maybe we’ll hear at some point, ‘Maybe not that joke.’ But I think they [Disney] have been incredibly supportive of what we’re doing.”

2 DAYS/1963---David Mamet will direct and rewrite the original movie script by Nicholas Celozzi which tells the story of how Celozzi's great uncle, mobster Sam Giancanna, ordered the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Celozzi claims the mob helped Kennedy win the presidency but arranged his assassination after Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy began a federal war against organized crime. The movie is set 48 hours before the assassination, and will show “the mob’s version of the assassination”.

THE POPE'S EXORCIST---Russell Crowe will star in this movie about Father Gabriele Amorth, the Vatican's chief exorcist, who performed over 100,000 exorcisms. Amorth wrote two books about his exorcism duties: AN EXORCIST TELLS HIS STORY and AN EXORCIST: MORE STORIES.

TRIVIA---Sam Neill said he turned a role in THE LORD OF THE RINGS because he was already involved with JURASSIC PARK III, "Interesting, isn’t it? There’s always conflicts. I was asked to do something good in THE LORD OF THE RINGS, but that conflicted with JURASSIC PARK III. People’s careers can often be extremely random. I always just think one’s lucky to have a career at all. But there’s not a lot you can do to shape your own career, really. It’s something that happens very haphazardly."
Earlier, Neill said, “He [Peter Jackson] did offer me a role in LORD OF THE RINGS, but unfortunately I was unable to do it because I had other commitments. I’m very fond of Peter and I’m very keen to work with him. When he makes LORD OF THE RINGS 7, I’m up for it.”
