HALLOWEEN ENDS---Jamie Lee Curtis said the sequel will be the last time she plays Laurie Strode and commented on the sequel, "There is a battle between them. And the irony is that the 2018 and 2021 movie were about a woman who was prepared for Michael every day of her life since she was 17 years old. Every day. This is a movie where she’s actually moved on. Because Laurie doesn’t see Michael coming. And that’s a very different result. So the fight with Michael is much more violent, unexpected, and it has to be like a street brawl."

QUANTUM LEAP---Scott Bakula commented on the reboot tv series, “In January, the pilot was sold and a script was sent to me because the character of Sam Beckett was in it, which makes sense, right? As so many of you have been asking me the last several months, ‘How could you do QL without Sam?’ (or Al, for that matter) Well, I guess we’re about to find out.
That’s the story. As the show has always been near and dear to my heart, it was a very difficult decision to pass on the project, a decision that has upset and confused so many fans of the original series."
He added, "However, the idea of anyone ‘leaping’ around in time and walking a mile in someone else’s shoes, remains a very appealing concept and so worthy of exploration, especially given the current state of mankind.

DALLAS STING---Skydance cancelled the Mathew McConaughey movie as production was about to begin after some aspects of the supposedly true story were found to be questionable. The plot involved a ragtag high school girls soccer team playing a veteran Chinese team for the world championship.

SUBLIME---Francis Lawrence will direct this untitled movie about the punk rock group Sublime.

TRIVIA---James Cameron's ALIENS is set in 2079, so to get a futuristic watch for Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), Cameron got automotive designer Giorgetto Giugiaro, who designed the DeLorean and sports cars for Ferrari and Aston Martin, to design an appropriate watch. Giugiaro chose a Seiko 7A28 watch and modified it, including adding a "control panel" to the right side of the Seiko.
In another movie with a Seiko and DeLorean connection, in BACK TO THE FUTURE, Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) wore a standard Seiko A826 Time Trainer watch, and his time machine was a modified DeLorean.

In ALIENS, automotive designer Giorgetto Giugiaro, who designed the DeLorean, modified a Seiko 7A28 watch for Ellen Ripley.

In BACK TO THE FUTURE, Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) wore a standard Seiko A826 Time Trainer watch, and his time machine was a modified DeLorean.

CONSTANTINE 2---Keanu Reeves is returning for the sequel to the 2005 horror movie with Francis Lawrence (THE HUNGER GAMES) as the director. Akiva Goldsman is the writer.

THE KARATE KID---Sony Pictures announced a movie that will be a “return of the original KARATE KID franchise”. No other details were released, but there is speculation the Sony movie might be a prequel to the original movie.
COBRA KAI co-creator Jon Hurwitz commented on the new movie, “The guys and I would love to make KARATE KID and COBRA KAI movies and hope to someday. But this one isn’t from us or focused on the COBRA KAI cast. Don’t know much about it, but wish it well.”

1923---Robert Patrick (TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY) will play Sheriff William McDowell, friend of the Dutton family, in the YELLOWSTONE spinoff series starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.

THUNDERBOLTS---Julia Louis-Dreyfus commented on co-starring in the Marvel Studios superhero movie, “[it] means that my children now really respect what I do for a living.”

WOODY ALLEN---in a recent interview, Woody Allen appeared to hint he was retiring, “My idea, in principle, is not to make more movies and focus on writing." However, Allen's representative denied he is retiring, “Woody Allen never said he was retiring, not did he say he was writing another novel. He said he was thinking about not making films as making films that go straight or very quickly to streaming platforms is not so enjoyable for him, as he is a great lover of the cinema experience. Currently, he has no intention of retiring and is very excited to be in Paris shooting his new movie, which will be the 50th.”

GRAN TURISMO---Orlando Bloom will co-star with David Harbour in the Neill Blomkamp movie based on the video game.

HBO MAX---HBO Max cancelled two upcoming tv series from JJ Abrams: CONSTANTINE and MADAME X. Both series will be shopped to other networks.

BATMAN---Nicolas Cage said he wants to play villain Egghead, played by Vincent Price in the 1960s Adam West tv series, in a future Batman movie, “You know what I mean it’s like, Egghead is Vincent Price right? He’s one of our other great American superstar actors that I revere and had so much fun watching growing up. So I was watching the BATMAN show because I really wanted to see what Vincent Price was going to do. And the character’s hilarious. I mean, everything starts with ‘Egg-cellent.’ And it’s, ‘Egg-static.’
This is just more of a fun little thing. Cause I’m on a red carpet, somebody asks me a question, I want to give them a funny answer, but there is an approach to that character that could be terrifying. And I’ve thought a lot about it. I’m not going to share it with you.”

JAMES BOND---co-producer Barbara Broccoli commented on Idris Elba, 50, saying he is not interested in being the new James Bond, “We love Idris. The thing is, it’s going to be a couple of years off, and when we cast Bond, it’s a 10-12 year commitment. So he’s probably thinking, ‘Do I really want that thing?’ Not everybody wants to do that. It was hard enough getting [Daniel Craig to do it].” Daniel Craig was in his early 30s when he auditioned for CASINO ROYALE.

RAZZLEKHAN: THE INFAMOUS CROCODILE OF WALL STREET---Lily Collins will star in the Hulu miniseries based on the true story of two loser entrepreneurs who were charged with laundering $4.5 billion in stolen Bitcoins.

TRIVIA---in Nicholas Meyer's TIME AFTER TIME, David Warner played Jack the Ripper/surgeon Dr. John Stevenson. However, the movie's producers and Warner Bros. wanted Mick Jagger to play Jack the Ripper. Meyer said, “I met with him, but The Ripper is also a Harley Street surgeon, and I didn’t think Jagger would be persuasive as the Harley Street surgeon whereas David you completely buy.”

LETHAL WEAPON 5---Mel Gibson commented on the sequel's status, “The only delay is now with all the shake-up at Warners, with Discovery coming in and the new boss [David Zaslav]. They chop everyone else up and throw them away and get new people. It always takes time for these companies to regroup, so that’s been a delay, but I’m pretty confident we’ll get this one up on its feet, probably shoot it in the first quarter of the New Year.”
Gibson, who will direct the sequel after Richard Donner passed away, said, “[Richard] was developing the screenplay and he got pretty far along with it… They had a really good template. I had the honor of sitting down, after Richard passed away, with the writer and doing a couple more drafts and trying to do it in the spirit of what we thought Donner might [want] because I knew the guy so well. We tried to get that flavor, and we were pretty happy with what we came up with."

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON---Matt Smith said there will not be any big time jumps in future episodes, “Once we make the jump, we’re in. I’m pretty sure from then on there’s not any big huge time jumps, particularly next season and the one after.”

FANTASTIC FOUR---Marvel Studios announced the reboot movie will be written by the team of Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer, who wrote THE LAST OF THE GREAT ROMANTICS and BERT AND ARNIE'S GUIDE TO FRIENDSHIP.

SCANNERS---HBO tv series underway based on the 1981 David Cronenberg movie. The tv series synopsis says, “Pursued by relentless agents with unimaginable powers, two women living on the fringes of modern society must learn to work together to topple a vast conspiracy determined to bring them to heel.” Cronenberg is the executive producer of the tv series. Jennifer O'Neill, Michael Ironside and Patrick McGoohan starred in the original movie.

NoFoPo---comedy anthology tv series underway that is a satire of Nordic Noir murder movies of the past decade. The series has three special agents of the Nordic Police Force (NoPoFo) who track down serial killers. The executive producers are David Zucker and Pat Proft, part of the team that wrote THE NAKED GUN and AIRPLANE! satire movies.

TRIVIA---British character actor Ronald Fraser played a British army sergeant in two movies in which people escape in an old cargo plane at the end of the movie. In THE FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX, Fraser played disobedient Sgt. Watson, who escapes with other survivors from the Libyan desert on an airplane rebuilt from a crashed C-82 Packet cargo plane. In THE WILD GEESE, Fraser played Sgt. Jock McTaggart, a member of a British mercenary team, some of whom escape in a C-47 Slytrain as they are pursued by African soldiers.

GODZILLA---FANGORIA magazine posted a video of John Carpenter watching a movie with what sounds like Godzilla roaring. The video tags film distributors Shout Factory, Scream Factory and streamer TokuSHOUTsu which led to fan speculation that Carpenter may be involved in future releases of the original Toho Godzilla movies. This might include Carpenter providing commentary on the original movies, hosting a Godzilla movie marathon or a future release of his short film GORGO VERSUS GODZILLA which he filmed when he was a film student at USC. Other fans suggested Carpenter may direct a future Godzilla movie.

JAMES BOND---Pierce Brosnan was asked who should be the next James Bond, “Who should do it? I don’t care. It’ll be interesting to see who they get, who the man shall be. Whoever he be, I wish him well. I saw the last one, and I saw SKYFALL. I love SKYFALL. I’m not too sure about the last one. Daniel [Craig] always gives of his heart. Very courageous, very strong. 1923---Jerome Flynn (GAME OF THRONES) will play the Scottish leader of the local sheep farmers in the YELLOWSTONE prequel that stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.

HORIZON---Jeff Fahey has joined the cast of the Kevin Costner epic about the settling of the West during a 15 year period. His role was not disclosed.

CLOVERFIELD---Babak Anvari will direct the fourth movie in the monster movie franchise. No plot details were released.

SPREAD---Elizabeth Gillies and Harvey Keitel will star in this Tubi comedy movie about an aspiring feminist journalist who gets a job at a fading adult magazine, SPREAD, and its fading publisher.

MUFASA---director Barry Jenkins commented on THE LION KING prequel, “I think you’ll see a ton of familiar faces. It is a prequel, but again, it’s a prequel in the sense that these are all the same characters, but we’re telling you how they came to be who they are. So we’re literally going backward. We’re going back in time with many of these characters. We’re in the present, as well, but we’re also going back to tell who these characters were.”
He added, "Mufasa is the king, the greatest king of the Pride Lands, and you assume he got that way just because he is, and I thought the studio and Jeff Nathanson, who wrote the script, did a great job of really exploring how people become great, how people come to be these mythic figures we look up to.”

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST: A 30TH CELEBRATION---the ABC/Disney+ live-action/animated musical will star H.E.R. as Belle, Josh Groban as Beast and Rita Moreno as the narrator. Martin Short is in talks to play Lumiere, and Shania Twain is in talks to play Mrs. Potts.

TRIVIA---Jason Momoa commented on his 2011 movie CONAN THE BARBARIAN, “I’ve been a part of a lot of things that really sucked, and movies where it’s out of your hands. CONAN was one of them. It’s one of the best experiences I had and it [was] taken over and turned into a big pile of *****.”

STAR WARS---James Earl Jones, 91, has "signed off" as the voice of Darth Vader after 45 tears. Jones's last Vader voice roles were in ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY and STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER. Vader's voice for the OBI-WAN KENOBI miniseries was synthesized by the voice special effects firm Respeecher.

THE MANDALORIAN---executive producer Rick Famuyiwa and Pedro Pascal were asked if the series might end with a theatrical movie. Pascal replied, “I’ll answer for him, yes he wants to. That’s a great idea. And if it isn’t a conversation already, then it will be after today.”

BLITZ---Saoirse Ronan will star in this Steve McQueen/Apple TV+ movie about several Londoners during the German bombing of London during World War II.

TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia.
In THUNDERBALL, French agent Madame La Porte was played by Eurasian actress Maryse Guy Mitsouko. She had a son, Sebastien Blondeau, with Sothebys Paris Director Marc Blondeau. According to her son, Mitsouko committed suicide by shooting herself in 1995 because she feared she would suffer from the same mental disease that afflicted her mother.

BRUCE WILLIS---Bruce Willis, who retired after being diagnosed with aphasia, is the first actor to sign a deal with tech firm Deepcake which allows a CGI version of himself to appear in future movies and tv projects. Willis' deal could be the first of many more, particularly for famous deceased actors.

WITCHER: BLOOD ORIGIN---showrunner Declan De Barra commented on the Netflix four-part prequel miniseries which premieres on December 25, “Viewers will be surprised because they’re going to see a story told about a period of elven history that was buried by the humans after their arrival and eventual conquest of the continent. We get to tell a tale about the elves when they were at their height, like all great societies before their fall.”

THE WALKING DEAD---Norman Reedus did not rule out Melissa McBride returning for the Daryl Dixon spinoff series that she quit earlier, “How do you know she’s not gonna come back? The spinoff was announced before we even announced THE WALKING DEAD was ending. We always thought we were doing a show that would come back to the flagship show – we’d take off, then come back to the flagship show.
Then they ended the flagship show, and it was us on our own. And then we shot for a year and a half straight, through the beginning of COVID. At that point, Melissa wasn’t going to do the show. And then she was going to do show. And then she wasn’t going to do the show."
He added, "You don’t, you don’t know she’s not going to show up on the spinoff. I’ll just leave it at that. She’s a very big part of Daryl’s story, it’s all gonna be OK.”

QUANTUM LEAP---Scott Bakula has said he is not involved with the reboot series, but showrunner Martin Gero wants Bakula to return, “I will respectfully always ask him to do the show. I have a very, very good idea that Deborah [Pratt, producer] knows about and that Don [Bellisario, producer] knows about. I think it could be really exciting. But I also completely respect his wishes.
He knows our enthusiasm for him. He knows our enthusiasm, our love, and our reverence for the old show. It’s a no right now. It would be pretty amazing to have him back, but I don’t know what that timeline looks like, or even if it’s possible.”
Gero added, “Yes. I wanna be able to call his managers just enough where they feel like I want him on the show, but not enough where they’re like, ‘This is a possible stalker situation. We need to alert the authorities.’ We would all love for that to happen, but we completely honor and respect his wishes.”

WEREWOLF BY NIGHT---director/composer Michael Giacchino said the Marvel Studios/Disney+ horror special is set in the Marvel cinematic Universe, “We always looked at it as a night in the life of Jack and Elsa, and we never shied away from the fact that, okay, yes, this exists in the MCU. Somewhere else in the world at this very moment, Spider-Man is swinging on something, and Captain America’s doing something, but we’re not going to bother with that. We’re just worried about this moment right here, wherever we are.”

DEXTER: NEW BLOOD---Showtime head Gary Levine commented on if the DEXTER franchise will continue after the success of NEW BLOOD, "It’s too soon to say. We’re still basking in the glow of the limited series, which was everything we hoped for."

THE MUNSTERS---the Rob Zombie movie cast includes two actors from the original tv series. Butch Patrick is the voice of Tin Can Man and Pat Priest is the voice of the Transylvania Airlines announcer.

TRIVIA---writer/director Tom McLoughlin is probably best known for directing the horror movie FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI: JASON LIVES. However, McLoughlin also appeared in two sci fi horror movies.
In Walt Disney's THE BLACK HOLE, McLoughlin played robot Capt. S.T.A.R. In John Frankenheimer's PROPHECY, McLoughlin and Kevin Peter Hall (PREDATOR) played the mutant bear Katahdin.

STAR TREK 4---Paramount Pictures removed the sequel from its schedule after director Matt Shakman left to direct the FANTASTIC FOUR reboot movie.

BLADE---Marvel Studios announced that director Bassam Tariq has left the reboot movie, “Due to continued shifts in our production schedule, Bassam is no longer moving forward as director of BLADE but will remain an executive producer on the film. We appreciate Bassam’s talent and all the work he’s done getting Blade to where it is.”

THE WITCHER: BLOOD ORIGIN---Minnie Driver will play Seanchai, a "shapeshifting collector of old lore with the abilities to travel between time and worlds" in the Netflix miniseries prequel.

MAGIC---filmmaker Mick Garris said he is producing a remake of the 1978 Anthony Hopkins horror movie with Sam Raimi as the director, “I’ve only worked with [Sam Raimi] as a producer on films… actually… the first time I’m gonna work with him as a director is on a remake of ‘Magic’. Which is something that we’re working on now. The Anthony Hopkins movie. We’re just actually hearing the final versions of the different takes from writers next week. TRIVIA---character actor Strother Martin is probably best known for his classic line in COOL HAND LUKE, "What we've got here is failure to communicate." In his youth, Martin was a talented swimmer and at age 17, he won the National Junior Springboard Diving Championship. He was a member of the University of Michigan's diving team and came in third in Springboard Diving while trying to qualify for the Olympic Games.
During World War II, Martin was a swimming instructor in the Navy. After the war, Martin became a swim instructor in Hollywood and was an extra in movie swim scenes which led to his stardom in movies like COOL HAND LUKE, BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID, THE WILD BUNCH and TRUE GRIT.

THUNDERBOLTS---Harrison Ford is reportedly Marvel Studios' top candidate to play Gen. Thaddeus "Thundebolt" Ross in the superhero movie. Ford would replace William Hurt, who passed away due to cancer. One source said Marvel Studios was going to announce earlier that Ford was part of the cast, but Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy objected, "They actually wanted to announce him as a cast member in Thunderbolts at D23. But they didn't because Kathy Kennedy put her foot down and said, 'No, we're going to keep the focus on Indiana Jones 5.'"

ARMOR WARS---Marvel Studios decided to develop the Disney+ tv series starring Don Cheadle into a theatrical movie.

ARCHIE---Jason Isaacs will star in the Cary Grant biomovie with Laura Aikman playing his ex-wife Dyan Cannon and Harriet Walker playing his mother Elise Leach.

COMMUNITY---a Peacock movie sequel to the tv series is underway with six cast members returning: Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Ken Jeong, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie and Jim Rash. It is not known if Danny Glover, Chevy Chase and Yvette Nicole Brown are also returning.

[But] we’re feeling pretty good that we’ll get to continue the show and let it evolve and land when it needs to. These guys, Jon [Hurwitz], Josh [Heald] and Hayden [Schlossberg], who write this show, are just so great at [having] their finger on the pulse of what the fans want. They are the fans themselves. There’s more meat on the bones there. But it’s gotta be entertaining and organic and I think there’s plenty of places to go every season. Whether you bring in Tamlyn Tomita as Kumiko [in season 5 or] Elizabeth Shue in season 3. You [also] have Thomas Ian Griffith – what a great job he’s doing. Karate Kid 3 was never, ever my favorite of those three movies. Now it’s bearing such great fruit and storytelling and refined versions of characters."

BRZRKR---Keanu Reeves said he might direct the Netflix movie based on his comic book, “I know how it’s a lot of work, but the film that I directed, MAN OF TAI CHI, was born, I became the director because I was part of the writing process, and I didn’t want to hand it over. I was like, oh, okay. I have to direct this. I’m not quite there yet on BRZRKR. I have to read the script, but I’m also interested in having a collaborator and what they could bring to it.”

FRASIER---Paramount+ greenlit the sequel series with Kelsey Grammer returning. Other cast members are not part of the cast but might return in recurring roles.

GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE---McKenna Grace confirmed she is returning for the next sequel, “I’m constantly pressuring Jason Reitman, our director. I’m always trying to figure out what the story is. I literally have no ounce of a clue what the story is. If I knew about a Marvel film or if I knew about GHOSTBUSTERS, I’d be sitting here and I’d be like, ‘I have no clue, and it’s driving me nuts.’ I’m just excited to do a second one. RUST---the Western movie starring Alec Baldwin will resume filming in January after the lawsuit filed against the producers, including Baldwin, on behalf of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was fatally shot, was dropped after a settlement was reached.

GODZILLA AGAINST MECHAGODZILLA---the 2002 movie will be shown in 450 US theaters for the first time on Godzilla Day, November 3. The movie includes a new featurette and a message from Toho International Godzilla head Keiji Ota.

THE WALKING DEAD---showrunner Angela Kang said Season 11 will include a new type of zombie, "This season, one of the things that we have been doing is sort of an exploration of the past and the present. We open the season with sort of an exploration of the idea of lurkers, which are the ones that go dormant. Those have existed in the series for a long time. But we've never done a super deep-dive into them. It's sort of like that led a little organically to this idea of: we've seen other variants, too – we just haven't seen them for a very, very long time. But that doesn't mean they weren't out there at some point."
She added, "If you've been used to one set of rules for zombies, and you haven't really encountered ones that do these other things, then some of your mechanisms for protecting yourself change…. It's just in the spirit of exploring what's out there. And for those who caught the end of World Beyond, we've seen that there may be a different variant that exists somewhere else, too. That's just part of the fun.”

HALLOWEEN ENDS---Jamie Lee Curtis commented on if the new sequel will be the last time she plays Laurie Strode, "The last thing I thought five years ago that I would be doing would be a Halloween movie. And here I am, [laughs], having now completed three of them with a fantastic creative group of people. That has not only been satisfying for me personally and creatively, but it has launched me creatively into a whole other world. I have a creative life now, because of the Halloween movie, and the success. I now have a partnership with Jason Blum at Blumhouse, I have a production company, I’ve written a horror film that I will direct, I am producing television series, I am buying books. All of that was the last thing I thought I would be doing five years ago. So to say never is stupid."
