TOM CRUISE---Universal Pictures head Donna Langley said Tom Cruise's untitled outer space movie will feature Cruise taking the first civilian space walk outside the International Space Station, "Tom Cruise is taking us to space. He's taking the world to space. That's the plan. We have a great project in development with Tom that does contemplate him taking a rocket to the Space Station. And hopefully he will become the first civilian to do a space walk outside of the International Space Station. He will play a down-on-his-luck guy who finds himself in the position of being the only person who could save Earth."

THE WALKING DEAD: DEAD CITY---photo released of Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan in the spinoff series set in New York whose synopsis says Negan and Maggie are in, “a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror.” Premiere is in April, 2023.

STAR TREK: JANEWAY---Kate Mulgrew commented on returning in a possible live-action spinoff series, "I haven't been saying that. Other people have been saying that."
She added, "I'll tell you one thing: every color, every gender, every disposition will be represented on that bridge if I'm the Captain again. And really representative, so that we know their backstory, so that their backstories of who they are enriches what's going on the bridge. A real deep dive into all the changes that our society has made. That's what I'd like. And if each and every one of them can be a brilliant actor, I just win, don't I?"

WONDER WOMAN 3---Patty Jenkins said the second sequel script is now finished and commented on a possible fourth movie in the franchise, "I just wrote last week the final scene of WONDER WOMAN 3 and I thought, I might be interested to see what happens next. So you'll never know. They have asked us to think of ways to do more and it accidentally happens. But you'll never know. I have a lot of other films that I'm excited to do as well. And I love Gal Gadot so that makes it better too."

DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY---Keanu Reeves has dropped out of the Hulu miniseries based on the book about serial killer Henry H. Holmes set during the 1893 Chicago World's Fair.

A HAUNTING IN VENICE---Kenneth Branagh's third Hercule Poirot movie is underway based on the Agatha Christie novel HALLOWE'EN PARTY starring Jamie Dornan, Michelle Yeoh, Tina Fey, Jude Hill and Kelly Reilly. Branagh said, “This is a fantastic development of the character Hercule Poirot, as well as the Agatha Christie franchise. Based on a complex, little known tale of mystery set at Halloween in a pictorially ravishing city, it is an amazing opportunity for us, as filmmakers, and we are relishing the chance to deliver something truly spine-chilling for our loyal movie audiences.”

AMSTERDAM---the David O. Russell movie starring Christian Bale, Margot Robbie and Robert De Niro is projected to lose $97 million after a worldwide premier of only $10 million.

BLACK ADAM---Dwayne Johnson commented on if he wants a Black Adam vs. Superman movie, "Absolutely. That is the whole point of this, man … I have been saying for some time, there’s a new era in the DC Universe that’s about to begin. And what I meant by that was introducing a brand new character. It’s not a sequel, not an existing IP. It was…you know, Black Adam! Two years ago the world had no idea who he was. We did, but not, you know, the rest of the mass out there. Introducing the JSA, introducing that new era of the DC universe.”

GHOST RIDER---Keanu Reeves commented on what Marvel character he would like to play in a movie, "10-year-old me would want to — I think he'd probably want to be Ghost Rider."

BLADE---Marvel Studios halted all production on the movie after director Bassam Tariq left the movie two weeks ago.

STRANGER THINGS---Millie Bobby Brown commented on if she wants to return in a spinoff series, "I’m just so focused on Enola [Holmes]. STRANGER THINGS – we saw it, we love it, we have big hearts. But let's make more Enolas. Let’s put that on Netflix. But other than that, I’d love to see another bald-headed 10-year-old get given that opportunity. I would help her navigate it."

FREAKY FRIDAY---Jamie Lee Curtis said she has contacted Walt Disney about a sequel to her 2003 movie that also starred Lindsay Lohan, “I’ve already written to Disney, my friends at Disney. I’m in their new HAUNTED MANSION movie.
Let me be the grandma! Let me be the old grandma who switches places. So then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma, who is still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon. And simply, I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I wanna be a helicopter parent in today’s world, as an old lady.”

THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH---Showtime cancelled the series.

TRIVIA---character actor Richard Young is perhaps best known for playing "Fedora" in INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE. Young got the role because he played Davey Crockett in Steven Spielberg's 1985 tv series AMAZING STORIES episode "Alamo Jobe".
Young said about getting the Fedora role, "Every actor in Hollywood was after this role, most were A or B listers. They just wanted to be in an INDIANA JONES movie. I had done an episode of AMAZING STORIES. It was season one of that show and Spielberg spotted something in what I had done with the Davy Crockett character in the episode "Alamo Jobe" that he always kept in the back of his mind.
After Steven had seen everyone, nobody really clicked with him. I got a call from Amblin and they asked if I could come to Steven’s office and have a chat. We just hit it off instantly. I told him about an adventure I had in Guatemala trying to smuggle out a Mayan bowl for an art collector and how I almost didn’t make it. He gave me a big grin and cancelled the rest of his appointments for that afternoon and hired me on the spot."
Young added, "There is a rumor that Disney may be developing a Fedora origin story that fills in the gap on how he influenced young Indy. This is only a rumor with nothing confirmed. The fact is the roles I have been offered do not meet my standards as a film actor...If anything materializes from Lucasfilm/Disney Plus I’m sure you will hear about it!"

BARBARELLA---Sydney Sweeney (EUPHORIA, THE WHITE LOCUST) will star in the Sony Pictures remake of the 1968 comedy sci fi movie that starred Jane Fonda.

SHELTER ME---THE DEEP pair of Nick Nolte and Jacqueline Bisset will reunite for this sci fi movie about two test subjects involved in a sinister AI experiment. Olivier Masucci also stars. The synopsis says, "SHELTER ME is an anthology of storylines set against the international backdrop of Covid-19. Masucci portrays Jon Boylan, an A.I. research scientist who is unable to intimately connect with members of his test group (Nolte and Bisset). He subsequently develops a remote monitoring system that exposes personal struggles, weaknesses and strengths during isolation that come to a reckoning, as their layers of personality begin to peel away."

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON---George RR Martin commented on how long the tv series will run, "When I was a boy, shows had 39 episodes a season. By the time I was writing for ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ it was down to 22. Cable shrunk that even further. ‘The Sopranos’ had 13 episodes per season, but just a few years later, ‘Game of Thrones’ had only 10 (and not even that, those last two seasons).
If ‘House of the Dragon’ had 13 episodes per season, maybe we could have shown all the things we had to ‘time jump’ over…though that would have risked having some viewers complain that the show was too ‘slow,’ that ‘nothing happened.’
As it is, I am thrilled that we still have 10 hours every season to tell our tale. ‘Rings of Power has only eight, as you may have noticed, and my AMC show ‘Dark Winds’ is doing six-episode season. I hope that will continue to be true. It is going to take four full seasons of 10 episodes each to do justice to the Dance of the Dragons, from start to finish.”

DAHMER-MONSTER: THE JEFFREY DAHMER STORY---the serial killer miniseries drew 701.3 million viewing hours since its September 21 premiere which passed BRIDGERTON as the second most-watched English language series in Netflix history. In first place is STRANGER THINGS Season 4 in English language with 1.35 billion hours and SQUID GAME with 1.65 billion hours in any language.

DEAD SPACE---John Carpenter commented on what video game he would like to make a movie on, “The only one I can think of, and I’ve mentioned it before, is DEAD SPACE. That would make a real great movie. I could do that.”
Asked if he had any favorites from the series, he replied, “Well, any of them were really good. I even like the last one, the action one that nobody else liked.”

THE JOY LUCK CLUB 2---the sequel to the 1993 movie is underway with most of the original cast in talks to return.

JOHN CANDY---Ryan Reynolds is developing a documentary on the comedian and actor.

TRIVIA---Michael J. Fox ignored his late mother's advice and made Hollywood history. Fox said his mother did not want him to star in BACK TO THE FUTURE, "My mom passed away two weeks ago. But I was 23 years old, and I called her, she was in Canada, and I said, 'They want me to do this Steven Spielberg movie, but I have to do it at night and I have to do FAMILY TIES in the daytime.' And she said, 'You'll be too tired.'"
He replied, "'I live for this kind of tired. It'll be okay,' To this day - well, till two weeks ago - my mother thought it was a really bad idea for me to do BACK TO THE FUTURE. She loved the movie, [but she was right], I got tired."

THE MUMMY---Brendan Fraser commented on if he would return for a fourth movie, "I don’t know how it would work, but I’d be open to it if someone came up with the right concept.” Fraser also commented on why the Tom Cruise movie failed, “It is hard to make that movie. The ingredient that we had going for our MUMMY, which I didn’t see in that film, was fun. That was what was lacking in that incarnation. It was too much of a straight-ahead horror movie. THE MUMMY should be a thrill ride, but not terrifying and scary. I know how difficult it is to pull it off. I tried to do it three times.”

RED ONE---Lucy Liu will co-star with Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans in the Amazon Prime action comedy movie. Her role was not disclosed.

PHYSICAL---Zooey Deschanel will join the cast in Season 3.

THE HARDY BOYS---Hulu cancelled the series with Season 3 being the last season.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: NEW WORLD ORDER---Harrison Ford has signed to play Gen. Thaddeus Ross in NEW WORLD ORDER and then is expected to be in THUNDERBOLTS.

THE NAKED GUN---Liam Neeson is in negotiations to star in THE NAKED GUN reboot being developed by Seth MacFarlane. Some accounts say Neeson would replace Leslie Nielsen as Lt. Frank Drebin, but other accounts speculate that Neeson would play Drebin's son. An earlier NAKED GUN reboot starring Ed Helms was cancelled.

1923---former James Bond actor Timothy Dalton will co-star with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren in the YELLOWSTONE prequel series. Dalton will play villain Donald Whitfield, a wealthy and powerful man who usually gets what he wants.

MARTIN SCORSESE---Martin Scorsese commented on modern cinema, “Since the ’80s, there’s been a focus on numbers. It’s kind of repulsive. The cost of a movie is one thing. Understand that a film costs a certain amount, they expect to at least get the amount back.
The emphasis is now on numbers, cost, the opening weekend, how much it made in the U.S.A., how much it made in England, how much it made in Asia, how much it made in the entire world, how many viewers it got. As a filmmaker, and as a person who can’t imagine life without cinema, I always find it really insulting.”

WISE GUYS---Debra Messing is in talks to play the wife of mobster Frank Costello (Robert De Niro) in this movie about rival mob families.

THE ABANDONS---Kurt Sutter/Netflix Western tv series in which 1850s Oregon families unite to battle the wealthy and powerful who are trying to seize their land.

ELEVATION---Anthony Mackie and Morena Baccarin will star in this post-apocalyptic movie about a father and two women who journey across the Rocky Mountains and battle monsters in order to save a child.

JOHN DALY---Jonah Hill will star in this untitled biomovie about John Daly, the "Bad Boy of Golf".

TRIVIA---Johnny Depp was to have returned as Grindelwald in FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD, but he was fired by Warner Bros. after he lost his highly-publicized libel lawsuit against British tabloid THE SUN. The tabloid claimed Depp was a "wife beater" in his marriage to Amber Heard. Depp filmed only one scene before he was replaced by Mads Mikkelsen, but because he had a "pay-or-play" contract without a morality clause, Depp received $16 million.

ANDOR---Parrot Analytics Industry Strategist Brandon Katz posted that ANDOR has a lower audience demand than other STAR WARS tv series based on social media posts, search traffic, blogs, etc.

THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER---the Amazon series had 988 million viewing minutes from September 12-September 18 which is 18% less than the 1.2 billion minutes from the previous week.
Also, Charlie Vickers commented on the future of Halbrand, "We know Sauron takes on different shapes in this era. All I can say is maybe to that. Maybe we’re going to do those things. I’m incredibly excited to explore him doing these things that we know he does. He has a s—load of rings to make, and he gets to go to Númenor, and he orchestrates the downfall of Númenor.
Then he has to take another form and go and fight in the Battle of the Last Alliance. The battle at the end of the Second Age. [But] the showrunners have a really specific plan, and I don’t know their plans as to how it’ll unfold, but I loved playing him in this repentance stage.
Whether the repentance is genuine or not is open to interpretation. But I think it’s going to be really cool now that he’s kind of out there. And it’s like, I’m back. I’ve been lingering. I’ve been coming back very slowly. And now, thanks to Galadriel, I’m back. And I’m excited to play that.”

FANTASTIC FOUR---Emily Blunt said she is not interested in playing Sue Storm in the reboot movie, but commented on her husband, John Krasinski, playing Reed Richards in DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS and him possibly returning for the reboot, "I was really happy for him because I think he's a huge fan. And I understand why it's such an ardent passionate religion for people. It's a huge part of our cinematic history now. So he was thrilled... Well, I hope [we can see him in the role again]. I hope so. You never know."

BEING MORTAL---Keke Palmer commented on the shelved movie directed by Aziz Ansari after reports a settlement had been reached between Bill Murray and a female crew member after she accused him of inappropriate behavior on the set, “If somebody could figure it out, it would be Aziz. Obviously, we got cut short at a certain point, but I will say that I am pretty devastated. It’s an amazing film. If there is some way to be able to complete, and salvage it, I would want to do it. [Ansari] would probably have to do a major rewrite, but I know what we got was gold.”
Rob Schneider spoke about Murray when Murray returned to SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE as a guest host, “Absolutely hated us. I mean, seething. He hated Chris Farley with a passion. Like he was just seething looking at him… really hated [Adam] Sandler, too. It was just naked rage.”
Seth Green also talked about Murray as a guest host when Green was nine years old, "He picked me up by my ankles. Held me upside down…He dangled me over a trash can, and he was like, ‘The trash goes in the trash can.’ And I was screaming, and I swung my arms, flailed wildly, full contact with his balls. He dropped me in the trash can, the trash can falls over. I was horrified. I ran away, hid under the table in my dressing room and just cried.”

PHENOMENA---Italian studio Titanus is developing a sequel to the 1985 Dario Argento movie that starred Jennifer Connelly.

GRIMSBURG---Fox renewed the series for Season 2.

ANIMAL CONTROL---Joel McHale will star in this Fox comedy series as a cop who was fired for trying to expose corruption and is now a cynical animal control officer.

TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia.
Mel Gibson said he was offered the James Bond role when Roger Moore began to have doubts about returning as 007, “I got offered the James Bond movies when I was like twenty-six, which is like forty years ago, okay? And they said, hey, we want you to be the next James Bond. And I thought about it; I was in Australia, I was working with Peter Weir (THE YEAR OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY, 1982). And I did think about it, and I sort of turned it down – for that reason. Because I thought, look what happened to poor Sean, he got stuck there for like three decades.”
Ironically, Gibson's comments were made while he was giving an update on him returning for LETHAL WEAPON 5, the latest sequel to the original 1987 movie.

MAN OF STEEL---Dwayne Johnson is playing a major role in Warner Bros.'s "intense desire" to get Henry Cavill to return for a sequel according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, "Under Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav and Warner Bros. Pictures' heads Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy, Warners has an intense desire to reprise the Cavill iteration of the hero. The project that would essentially be Man of Steel 2 is being produced by Charles Roven and is currently in a search for writers." The studio's top choice to write the sequel is Christopher McQuarrie.
THR added, "'Johnson, however, has Superman plans of his own. He has been very vocal about his desire to make a Black Adam versus Superman movie, a desire he has only reiterated more frequently in the lead-up to Adam. This comes as he talks up his “surprise” cameo at the end of Adam, with the actor all but stating that Cavill will appear."'

TWISTER 2---Helen Hunt may return for the sequel to the 1996 movie that also starred Bill Paxton. The sequel will focus on Hunt's character and her daughter. The candidates for director are Dan Trachtenberg (PREY), Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai (FREE SOLO) and Travis Knight (KOBO AND THE TWO STRINGS).

THE BATMAN---Matt Reeves is developing a Batverse of movies and tv series based on Batman villains including The Scarecrow, Clayface, Pofessor Pyg and others.

SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW---director Kat Coiro said a possibility of Edward Norton returning as the Hulk was considered for the finale, “There was a lot of talk about the fact that the last time they were together a different actor was playing the Hulk. And Mark [Ruffalo] made quite a few jokes about that. And we did entertain the idea of swapping Mark out for Edward Norton. But that did not come to pass."

TRIVIA---Alfred Hitchcock offered Michael Caine the starring role in FRENZY, a movie based on the true story of a London serial killer. Caine always wanted to be in a Hitchcock movie, but he turned the role down, "He offered me the part of a sadist who murdered women and I won't play that. I have a sort of moral thing and I refused to play it, and he never spoke to me again. It was a film based on a real serial killer who cut women to smithereens. I said, 'I can't play this. I don't want to play it."' Caine's rejection led to a feud between the two film greats, "I would see him every Friday at Chasen's restaurant (in Los Angeles), and he would totally ignore me."
After Caine turned the role down, Barry Foster accepted it. Ironically, Caine and Foster played RAF fighter squadron commanders in BATTLE OF BRITAIN.

SAND AND STONES---Nicolas Cage will star in this horror movie set in an apocalyptic future where a man and his two sons live in a remote farmhouse where they must survive against nocturnal creatures that have killed off most of mankind.

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON---executive producer/writer Sara Hess and director Clare Kilner said they are baffled by fan infatuation with Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith).

Hess: “He’s become Internet Boyfriend in a way that baffles me. Not that Matt [Smith] isn’t incredibly charismatic and wonderful, and he’s incredible in the role. But Daemon himself is … I don’t want him to be my boyfriend! I’m a little baffled how they’re all, ‘Oh, daddy!’ And I’m just like: ‘Really?’ How – in what way – was he a good partner, father or brother – to anybody? You got me. He ain’t Paul Rudd. What do you think, Clare?”

Kilner: “I just love the fact people are so involved with these characters, and I think that’s part of the fun of it. One minute you like someone, and the next minute you like someone else. But I’m not surprised. Matt is such a risk-taker in his performances and he’s got that little smile and, you know… you can’t help it! He is charismatic. People love a baddie. But I don’t think he’s particularly a good father or a good brother.”

WATCHMEN---comic book creator Alan Moore said he has disowned the HBO series based on his comic book, particularly after the showrunner [apparently Damon Lindelof] sent him a letter during the show's development which began with, “Dear Mr. Moore, I am one of the bastards currently destroying ‘Watchmen.'”
Moore said, “That wasn’t the best opener. It went on through a lot of, what seemed to me to be, neurotic rambling. ‘Can you at least tell us how to pronounce ‘Ozymandias’? I got back with a very abrupt and probably hostile reply telling him that I’d thought that Warner Bros. were aware that they, nor any of their employees, shouldn’t contact me again for any reason.
I explained that I had disowned the work in question, and partly that was because the film industry and the comics industry seemed to have created things that had nothing to do with my work, but which would be associated with it in the public mind. I said, ‘Look, this is embarrassing to me. I don’t want anything to do with you or your show. Please don’t bother me again.'”
Moore added, "When I saw the television industry awards that the ‘Watchmen’ television show had apparently won, I thought, ‘Oh, god, perhaps a large part of the public, this is what they think ‘Watchmen’ was?’ They think that it was a dark, gritty, dystopian superhero franchise that was something to do with white supremacism.
Did they not understand ‘Watchmen’? ‘Watchmen’ was nearly 40 years ago and was relatively simple in comparison with a lot of my later work. What are the chances that they broadly understood anything since? This tends to make me feel less than fond of those works. They mean a bit less in my heart."

THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS---Laurence Fishburne commented on the sequel which did not include him, “It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. And it wasn’t as good as I hoped it would be, but I thought Carrie-Anne and Keanu really did their thing. Yeah, that’s what I thought.” When asked if he missed being part of the sequel cast, he replied, "No, not really."

THE LORD OF THE RINGS---AFC Investment Bank CEO Thomas Dey, who brokered the sale of The Lord of the Rings franchise rights to Embracer Group, said the franchise could reach the multi-billion dollar potential of STAR WARS and Marvel, “I think this asset has the ability to get to [STAR WARS and Marvel] scale. Someone has just needed to have the belief that this can be as ambitious as it can be.” The rights include movies, video games, board games, merchandising, theme parks, and stage.

THE DISAPPEARANCE OF JOSEF MENGELE---August Diehl (INGLORIOUS BASTERDS) will star in the biomovie based on the book about Nazi Dr. Josef Mengele hiding in Paraguay after World War II.

M. SON OF THE CENTURY---Luca Marinelli will star in the eight-part miniseries about Italian dictator Benito Mussolini.

TRIVIA---character actress Bonnie Beecher was the former college girlfriend of Bob Dylan and was possibly the inspiration for Dylan's song "Girl from the North Country". BUFFALO RANGERS---Bruce McKenna (BAND OF BROTHERS) is co-writing a Korean War tv miniseries about the all-black 2nd Ranger Company and its heroics in the battle for Hill 581 in which they were outnumbered by Chinese forces 15 to one. McKenna said, “Neglected by history, it’s time these true American heroes got their due.”

HALLOWEEN ENDS---a fan petition on Change.org demands that the ending to HALLOWEEN ENDS be reshot because it focused on Corey Cunningham instead of Laurie Strode and Michael Myers. The petition says the sequel, “left us sad, mad, disappointed, and Infuriated. Please give us a movie that shows us what Halloween is really about.”
Rohan Campbell, who played Corey, said director David Gordon Green warned him about irate fans, “When David offered me the role he was like, ‘I need you to know that a lot of people are going to really, really, really not be happy with what we’re choosing to do here. You’ll probably hear a lot of that.’ Jamie [Lee Curtis] reached out and said the same thing.”

BLACK ADAM 2---co-producer Hiram Garcia said the sequel is being planned and commented on a possible plot, “Our vision is, what we really want to establish is Superman exists in the same world as Black Adam. Both those guys exist in the same universe and that’s important for us. It’s in the universe where our JSA is and so forth. But we really wanted the world to know that these guys are going to cross paths and how we do it, we’re still working on it. We don’t want to give that away. But I will say that it’s much bigger than what people think.”

FANTASTIC FOUR---entertainment writer Jeff Sneider said he heard a rumor that Adam Driver has met with Marvel Studios about playing Reed Richards in the reboot movie, but he added the rumor did not come from his regular sources. Other names that have been mentioned are John Krasinski, Penn Badgley and Tom Ellis.

STAR WARS---Rian Johnson commented on the status of the next STAR WARS trilogy, “I have talked to Kathy [Kathleen Kennedy] about it, and we’re still talking about it. I had such an amazing experience making THE LAST JEDI. It’s entirely a matter of scheduling. For me, putting this [GLASS ONION: A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY] out and making the next one of these…the answer is I don’t know.”

JOHN WICK 4---Laurence Fishburne commented on the next sequel, “Number four is gonna be… honestly, when I read it I was like, this is the best one, one the page… it just was. From the way that it opens, there are like three or four really incredible set pieces that are just like, woah. There are new characters, one, in particular, that’s so much fun. Well, actually three are crazy fun, and yeah, you know, I got to be in it again. I come back from the dead.”

BLACK SAMURAI---movie underway based on the novels with Chad Stahelski (JOHN WICK) as the director.

THE CROWN---Netflix added a disclaimer to its trailer for Season 5 which says, “inspired by real events, this fictional dramatisation tells the story of Queen Elizabeth II and the political and personal events that shaped her reign” after criticism, including Judi Dench's, questioned the accuracy Season 5's accuracy.

THE RADLEYS---Damien Lewis will star in the horror comedy based on the book about an ordinary family who are really vampires.

The project will feature Norrin Radd as Galactus’ Herald out in the far corners of the cosmos. Radd will not be on Earth during his special presentation and will also not interact with any cosmic characters already established in the MCU."

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON--executive producer Ryan Condal commented on Season 2, “We will get to the spectacle. But you have to understand these people’s complexities before they’re thrown into war. Series two will hit the rhythms people came to expect from the middle run of Game of Thrones, but it will have been earned, and viewers will feel the tragedies because we put the work in.”

DUMBO---Tim Burton said he probably will not be working with Walt Disney in the future after his DUMBO remake, “My history is that I started out there. I was hired and fired like several times throughout my career there. The thing about ‘Dumbo,’ is that’s why I think my days with Disney are done, I realized that I was DUMBO, that I was working in this horrible big circus and I needed to escape. That movie is quite autobiographical at a certain level.”

STAR WARS---the Damon Lindelof STAR WARS movie is set after THE RISE OF SKYWALKER and is not connected to the Skywalker Saga. Characters from the sequel trilogy might return for the movie which is a stand-alone with sequel possibilities. The movie might premiere in December, 2025.
Also, the Walt Disney Company has reportedly told Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy to stop releasing information about future STAR WARS projects because of negative press from earlier franchise misfires involving Colin Trevorrow, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Josh Trank and David Benioff and DB Weiss.

BATGIRL---Warner Bros. Discovery saved over $2 billion in shelving BATGIRL and other cost-cutting efforts. However, it had to pay $2 million to Michael Keaton who returned as Batman in a role which a source said was, “about a week’s worth of work...as a glorified cameo.”

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON--the Season 1 finale drew 9.3 million viewers which is HBO biggest audience since GAME OF THRONES Season 8 finale which had 19.8 million viewers.

DOCTOR WHO---Disney+ will carry the series in 150 markets outside of England where the BBC will continue to air it.

SAW 10---Tobin Bell is returning for the next sequel which will be directed by Kevin Greutert.

THE ISLAND---Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara will star in this movie inspired by a true story about a couple who plan to develop their private paradise on a deserted island until a European countess and her two lovers arrive to develop a luxury hotel.

WINNER---Emilia Jones will star in this dark comedy movie about US intelligence specialist Reality Leigh Winner, who was sentenced to five years in federal prison after she leaked classified information about Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election.

BAD CRIMES---Netflix cancelled the adult animated comedy series about two female FBI agents who solve grisly crimes in mid-development. It will be shopped to other outlets.

CLOVERFIELD 2---writer Joe Barton commented on the status of the sequel, "I’m writing it on my own, JJ is a producer on it. So I go away and do my drafts and then he gives notes and the Bad Robot execs give notes, and then he’ll jump in occasionally and look at drafts and stuff. I imagine probably the next one, because Babak Anvari just came on to direct so we’re getting closer to production. I’m doing some revisions at the moment and the hope would be that this would be the last sort of big script push, and then we get on to actually making it."

SUPERHEROES---James Cameron joined directors Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola and Ridley Scott in criticizing superhero movies, “When I look at these big, spectacular films — I’m looking at you, Marvel and DC — it doesn’t matter how old the characters are, they all act like they’re in college. They have relationships, but they really don’t. They never hang up their spurs because of their kids. The things that really ground us and give us power, love, and a purpose? Those characters don’t experience it, and I think that’s not the way to make movies.”

MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE---Frankie Muniz said co-star Bryan Cranston is developing a revival of the 1980s comedy tv show, “I would love to know what the family’s up to… I know Bryan Cranston is really into the idea and he’s kind of heading writing the script and getting everything rolling. So, there might be something. I would be down 100 percent… we’ll see what happens.”

Friedkin was so impressed with the medical procedure and Bateson that he decided to use it in THE EXORCIST and cast Bateson as the radiographer who explains the procedure to Regan, who then has blood spurt out of her neck during the procedure. The scene is regarded as one the movie's most chilling.
Six years later in 1979, Bateson was convicted in the death of movie industry writer Addison Verrill after the two had sex in Verrill's apartment. Friedkin visited Bateson in prison and Bateson admitted to killing Verrill. The New York district attorney suspected Bateson of being involved in six other murders.
