THE LAST OF US---showrunner Craig Mazin commented on Season 2, “I’m never gonna say there are things that are gonna happen in the show that happened in the game. You never know what we’re gonna do.
But I will say that it is the adventure; the journey is the point. There are things that will shock people, things that were in the game, things that were not in the game, and that’s okay.
As long as they’re purposeful, they’re not there to just simply shock. We are not interested in creating social media fear. We just want to tell the story the way we think it should be told.”

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE--DEAD RECKONING PART ONE---Christopher McQuarrie said he considered using a de-aged Tom Cruise for the sequel, "Originally, there had been a whole sequence at the beginning of the movie that was going to take place in 1989. We talked about it as a cold open, we talked about it as flashbacks in the movie, we looked at de-aging. One of the big things about [the de-aging] I was looking at while researching, I kept saying, 'Boy, this de-aging is really good' or 'This de-aging is not so good.' Never did I find myself actually following the story. I was so distracted by an actor that I had known for however long was now suddenly this young person."

ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING---Nathan Lanes is not returning for Season 3 due to a schedule problem.

DOCTOR JEKYLL---poster released for the horror movie starring Eddie Izzard as transgender Dr. Nina Jekyll.

DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS---Hayley Atwell commented on her fatal Peggy Carter cameo, "I didn’t. I think that we did lots of different things, lots of different takes, and the way that they edited it was like suddenly just very quick. And watching her, I get so much slack. I’m like, 'That wasn't my choice!' She’s like, 'I could do this all day' and then followed by she's immediately cut in half by a frisbee. And the audience being like, 'She can't do it all day. Apparently you can't, so yeah, egg on your face.' And I’m like, ‘Oh, that doesn't really serve Peggy very well.’"

INHUMANS---Anson Mount commented on if he might return as Black Bolt after ABC cancelled INHUMANS and he had a cameo in DR. STRANGE IN TGHE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS, “If the answer was yes, I wouldn’t be able to tell you – but the answer is no, so I can. I’ve had some informal conversations with the powers [at] Marvel, and it’s a conversation, but they’ve got their current phase that they need to do.”

TRIVIA---the theme song for MAGNUM, P.I., composed by Mike Post Post and Pete Carpenter, is considered to be one of the best tv themes ever written. However, when the tv series originally began, a theme song written by Ian Freebairn-Smith was used in the pilot and the first nine episodes of Season 1. In Episode 8, the Post/Carpenter theme was introduced, and it replaced Freebairn-Smith's theme as the series theme song in Episode 12. The Post/Carpenter theme reached #25 on Billboard's Top 100 in 1982.
Post said writing the theme was "very easy to do" because he grew up with Tom Selleck, “I had gone to grammar school, junior high and high school with Tom Selleck, been friends with him my whole life."

INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY---Box Office Mojo said the sequel has now earned $302 million worldwide which surpasses its reported $300 million budget. However, because of its expensive advertising budget, DIAL OF DESTINY must make at least $600 million to be profitable.

SNOW WHITE---photo of the Walt Disney live-action remake of its classic 1937 animated movie shows diverse stand-ins for Rachel Zegler and Andrew Burnap. Critics claimed the photo showed the remake is "politically correct". A Disney spokesperson originally claimed the photo was a fake, but later released a clarification, “The images that ran [in the DAILY MAIL] are not official film photos. These show stand-ins for some talent and do not feature Rachel Zegler or Andrew Burnap.”
Last year, Peter Dinklage commented on the remake, “I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White. You’re still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Take a step back and look at what you’re doing there. It makes no sense to me. You’re progressive in one way and you’re still making that f*cking backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together, what the f*ck are you doing man?”

SNOW-WHITE.jpg

STAR WARS: THE ACOLYTE---showrunner Leslye Headland commented on the new Disney+ tv series, "We are looking at a time period where the Jedi are at the height of their power, we’re looking at a time period where there is peace throughout the galaxy, and it was very challenging and interesting to make a Star Wars with no war in it.
Though, the question became, ‘Well, what should the show be about if it’s not going to be about galactic conflict?’ And I think that what makes this show different and interesting is that it’s from the perspective of the bad guys or the villains of STAR WARS.
These are people who are using the Force in their own way, dipping into the darker side of the Force, and are doing it without being sanctioned by the larger institution, which in this case is the Jedi. And I think that STAR WARS is always about some version of the underdog vs. the institution.”
She added, “I just thought it was very interesting to do a show about the bad guys, and to set that during that time period made the most sense. So I think that’s what sets it apart. It’s kind of almost flipped. We have more Jedi than you’ve seen in any other of the STAR WARS content.
But at the same time, I think you see more morally ambiguous characters than you’ve seen in other STAR WARS content. And I think I can say this pretty confidently: I don’t think you’re going to see action in other shows the way that you see it used and utilized in our show.”

TITAN---James Cameron denied rumors that he will be directing a movie based on the OceanGate Titan submerisible that imploded, killing five people, while exploring the wreck of the Titanic, “I don’t respond to offensive rumors in the media usually, but I need to now. I’m NOT in talks about an OceanGate film, nor will I ever.”

VERTIGO---Robert Downey, Jr. commented on why he and writer Steven Knight (PEAKY BLINDERS) are developing a remake of the classic Alfred Hitchcock movie, “We are certainly looking into it. You know why? God bless. I’ll tell you why. I have been rock climbing before and gotten stuck in that panic freeze, and if not for the sheer embarrassment, I would have asked to have been hoisted off that rock. I lost my confidence in my positioning, the drop was too far, and my body reacted. It wasn’t fight-or-flight; it was freeze-and-about-to-faint.
I’ll never forget it, and it made me think there are cinematic devices that have yet to be fully utilized that I think would provide an experience in trying to say, ‘What does it feel like to be psychologically silly with fear over something that should be manageable?’ That might be entertaining.”

TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia.
The original CASINO ROYALE was the only James Bond movie in which James Bond (David Niven) died until NO TIME TO DIE when Bond (Daniel Craig) died.

THE LAST OF US---showrunner Craig Mazin commented on the future of the show, “It’s going to be more than one season. There’s more story, so this show will not end with Season 2 unless people don’t watch it and we’ll get canceled. Barring that, we will be doing some things exactly the way they were in the game. We’re going to do other things that are in the game and we’re gonna do some things that are in the game but we’re gonna do them differently in our own method. No matter if you have played the game or not. You will be surprised as the season unfolds. We have some interesting twists and turns.”

THE MARVELS---photo shows new suits for Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau.

STAR WARS: LANDO---writer/director Justin Simien commented on the status of the Disney+ tv series, “I certainly poured my heart and spent a lot of time working with them to put together a really great show. It feels like everybody loves it. And, you know, I was told we had to put a pause on it because of scheduling, and the next update I got [was in 2020], some years ago. So I don’t know, I have no idea what’s going on with it.”

RED ONE---Dwayne Johnson reportedly was paid $50 million for the Amazon Prime Christmas movie. If the report is true, it would be Johnson's biggest paycheck ever and the most for any actor.

MEG 2: THE TRENCH---director Ben Wheatley said he hopes there will a second sequel, “You don’t want to talk about it until MEG 2 is out, but I hope [to see a third installment]. There’s a lot more to explore in that world. It’s very rich. The international-ness of it is very interesting.
What’s so smart about the first film is that it’s not RUSH HOUR. It’s not East-meets-West, ‘Oh, we’re all confused about each other’. It’s just people working together, and being in an everyday adventure, and the people just happen to come from places all over the world. I think that’s good for audiences, and it’s a good message as well.”

GARGOYLES---creator Greg Weisman denied rumors Kenneth Branagh will direct a movie based on the animated tv series, “I’m thinking … that it’s flat-out not true.”

NIGHTMARES OF NATURE---Blumhouse Television is developing a documentary about animals trying to survive nature's horrors.

TRIVIA---character actor James Lanphier is best known for appearing in Blake Edwards movies and tv shows such as THE PINK PANTHER, PETER GUNN, DAYS OF WINE AND ROSES, THE PARTY and others.
Lanphier's first role was US Air Force Colonel Harvey in the prehistoric monster movie THE DEADLY MANTIS. His last role was in BLAKE Edwards' DARLING LILI as the maitre d' for a World War I fighter ace played by Rock Hudson and a famous British entertainer, who is really a German spy, played by Julie Andrews.
Ironically, Lanphier's older brother was fighter pilot Colonel Thomas Lanphier, Jr., who was officially credited with shooting down Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, who planned the attack on Pearl Harbor which led to the United States entering World War II. Most military historians doubt then-Captain Lanphier shot down Yamamoto, and they credit Lanphier's wingman, Lieutenant Rex Barber, with the kill. The US Air Force refused to to accept the almost-unanimous verdicts that Barber deserved sole credit and later credited Lanphier and Barber with the shared kill.

Until Liv learns about Will’s affair. Heartbreak is swiftly followed by another emotion: fury. Revenge is her only option, and when Will proposes a trip around America’s epic National Parks to give their relationship a fresh start, Liv knows just how to get it…WILDERNESS is a twisted love story, where a dream holiday and a supposedly ‘happily-ever-after’ quickly turns into a living nightmare.”

TRIVIA---Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale said they offered their BACK TO THE FUTURE screenplay to movie studios which led to 40 rejections. Gale said Disney rejected the movie because of one scene, "Well, we heard that so many times that Bob and I thought one day, 'what the hell, let's take it to Disney.' This was before Michael Eisner went in and reinvented it. This was the last vestiges of the old Disney family regime. We went in to meet with an executive and he says, 'Are you guys nuts? Are you insane? We can't make a movie like this. You've got the kid and the mother in his car! It's incest -- this is Disney. It's too dirty for us!'"

AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM---sources claim the sequel has had three rounds of reshoots after "several uninspired test screenings". Earlier plans to have Michael Keaton and then Ben Affleck to return as Batman have been cancelled because studio leaders “do not want to promise a movie universe that will not come to fruition, nor tie it down excessively to past failures." One described the situation as “pretty chaotic.” Studio heads are reportedly happy with the reshoots.
Also, Aquaman's new suit was revealed.

AI---James Cameron commented on artificial intelligence, “I warned you guys in 1984, and you didn’t listen. I think that we will get into the equivalent of a nuclear arms race with AI, and if we don’t build it, the other guys are for sure going to build it, and so then it’ll escalate.”

JAMES BOND---Christopher Nolan, a big James Bond fan, commented on directing an 007 movie and his conditions, "I love those movies, the influence of those movies on my filmography is embarrassingly apparent, you know, so there's no attempt to shy away from that. I love the films, and it would be an amazing privilege to do one, at the same time when you take on a character like that or work like that, you're working within a particular set of constraints. And so, you have to have the right attitude towards that, it has to be the right moment in your creative life where you can express what you want to express, and really burrow into within the appropriate constraints because you would never want to take on something like that and sort of do it wrong. It's the kind of responsibility I thought very much when taking on Batman...
You wouldn't want to take on a film not fully committed to what you could bring to the table creatively, so as a writer, casting, or everything, that's the full package. But no, I stand with the previous answer, which is you'd have to be really needed, you'd have to be really wanted in terms of bringing the totality of what you bring to the character. Otherwise, I'm very happy to be first in line to see whatever they do."

STAR WARS---John Boyega apparently has updated his negative comments about returning to STAR TREK, “That [those comments] was a few years ago, so they were the subject of that particular project. But I’m open to all characters and scripts that are enjoyable, have a great cast attached, and a terrific director. So yeah, I’m open to all opportunities.”
Boyega also commented on his favorite movies fro the last trilogy, "The Force Awakens is most definitely the best. Second for me comes STAR WARS 9, and then the worst, in the most respectful sense, is EPISODE 8---and with a sarcastic look away from the camera, he added, "They're all lovely."

LAZARUS---synopsis released for the Adult Swim animated tv series from the creator of COWBOY BEPOP, “The year is 2052 — an era of unprecedented peace and prosperity prevails across the globe. The reason for this: mankind has been freed from sickness and pain. Nobel Prize winning neuroscientist Dr. Skinner has developed a miracle cure-all drug with no apparent drawbacks called Hapuna. Hapuna soon becomes ubiquitous … and essential. However, soon after Hapuna is officially introduced, Dr. Skinner vanishes.
Three years later, the world has moved on. But Dr. Skinner has returned — this time, as a harbinger of doom. Skinner announces that Hapuna has a short half-life. Everyone who has taken it will die approximately three years later. Death is coming for this sinful world – and coming soon. As a response to this threat, a special task force of 5 agents is gathered from across the world to save humanity from Skinner’s plan. This group is called ‘Lazarus.’ Can they find Skinner and develop a vaccine before time runs out?”

TRIVIA---in four movies, assassin John Wick has killed a total of 439 people.

1. JOHN WICK---77 (average: one kill every 78 seconds)
2. JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 2---128 (average: one kill every 57 seconds)
3. JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3-PARABELLUM---94 (average: one kill every 83 seconds)
4. JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4---140 (average: one kill every 80 seconds)

I'm looking forward to the next Dune movie, the last version was pretty good as new releases go.

Sad to see John Wick die in the last movie (sorry spoiler alert), but maybe he's 'not quite' dead, or much much worse he'll be replaced by a Female John Wick, most likely with a Dark complexion....WHY??!!!....WHY??!!!

ALIEN---Alex Lawther will play the male lead and Sydney Chandler will play the female lead in the Noah Hawley/FX tv series. Samuel Blenkin will play CEO Boy Kavalier, Essie Davis will play Dame Silvia and Adarsh Gourav wil play Slightly.

A TIME TO KILL---Samuel L. Jackson said bad edits cost him an Academy Award nomination, “In A TIME TO KILL, when I kill those guys, I kill them because my daughter needs to know that those guys are not on the planet anymore and they will never hurt her again — that I will do anything to protect her.
That’s how I played that character throughout. And there were specific things we shot, things I did to make sure that she understood that, but in the editing process, they got taken out.
And it looked like I killed those dudes and then planned every move to make sure that I was going to get away with it. When I saw it, I was sitting there like, ‘What the f*ck?'”
The things they took out kept me from getting an Oscar… My first day working on that film, I did a speech in a room with an actor and the whole f*cking set was in tears when I finished.
I was like, ‘Okay. I’m on the right page.’ That ***** is not in the movie! And I know why it’s not. Because it wasn’t my movie, and they weren’t trying to make me a star. That was one of the first times that I saw that ***** happen.
There are things that I’ve done in other movies where I said, ‘Wait a minute. Why did you take that moment out of the movie?’ Because the moment in that movie, it’s bigger than the movie.”

BARBIE---director Greta Gerwig commented on if she expected the criticism that the movie is anti-man and excessively feminist “No, I didn’t. Certainly, there’s a lot of passion. My hope for the movie is that it’s an invitation for everybody to be part of the party and let go of the things that aren’t necessarily serving us as either women or men. I hope that in all of that passion, if they see it or engage with it, it can give them some of the relief that it gave other people...“I wanted to make something anarchic and wild and funny and cathartic. The idea that it’s actually being received that way, it’s sort of extraordinary.”
Mattel CEO Ynon Kreisz commented on a sequel, “Barbie, as a brand, has many different iterations. The product lines of Barbie is a very broad brand. In addition to the main Barbie figure, she has family. She has a lot of elements around in her universe. It’s a very rich universe… It’s a very broad and very elastic brand in terms of opportunities.
At the outset, we’re not saying, ‘Okay, let’s think already about movies two and three.’ Let’s get the first one right and make that a success. And if you do that, opportunities open up very quickly once you establish the first movie as a successful representation of a franchise on the big screen. Successful movies lend themselves to more movies. Our ambition is to create film franchises.”

SAW X---poster released for the sequel.

JUSTICE LEAGUE---James Gunn commented on rumors of a live-action movie underway, "No."

SHAZAM!---Zachary Levi commented on the franchise's future, “The first one did well enough where they said, ‘Hey, let’s look into making a second one.’ And then they pitched me the idea on it. I thought it was really fun. I really enjoyed making that movie, and I really enjoyed playing that part. I don’t know what the future holds for it all because, unfortunately, the second movie was not as well received. The audience score is still quite good, but the critics’ score was very oddly and perplexingly low, and people were insanely unkind.
I’ve been a part of things, and as much as I wish they were good, I know they’re okay. know that they miss a lot. And I’m not saying SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS is some perfect… Orson Welles-like masterpiece, but it’s a good darn movie.”

SPIDER-MAN---Thomas Haden Church commented on rumors of Sami Raimi and Tobey Maguire reuniting for a new Spider-Man movie, “There’s always been some kind of…I’ve heard rumors…that Sam Raimi was going to do another with Tobey and if that happens, I would probably campaign to maybe at least do a cameo."

THE RIGHTEOUS GEMSTONES---HBO renewed the series for Season 4.

TRIVIA---THE TWILIGHT ZONE episode "To Serve Man" was rated by TV GUIDE as #11 in its 1997 "100 Greatest Episodes of All-Time" and is known for the classic line, "It's a cookbook!". The episode was based on a short story by Damon Knight, who commented on Rod Serling's tv adaptation, "'To Serve Man' was written in 1950, when I was living in Greenwich Village and my unhappy first marriage was breaking up. I wrote it in one afternoon, while my wife was out with another man...I thought the adaptation was kind of neat it made me famous in Milford, Pennsylvania; suddenly everybody knew who I was. I didn't mind the aliens being acromegalic giants, because I knew they couldn't film my pig-people without making it look like a Disney film. The only thing that bugged me was Serling's treating the alien language as if it were just another kind of code."

STAR WARS: THE ACOLYTE---cast member said the upcoming Disney+ series set a century before THE PHANTOM MENACE will have lots of lightsaber battles. Manny Jacinto said, “If you loved that sequence with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan and Darth Maul, I think you’re going to enjoy this show.”
Charlie Barnett added, “I will say too — not to shade’ but we have a lot more tangible physical moves than I saw in that fight. As badass as it is, there’s a lot more grounded work that goes into our stunt training and our stunt performances.
Dafne Keen said, “I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this, but I will just say it. There’s a lack of guns, which personally, as someone who loves fighting and stunts and stuff, I love. Because it gives you that body-to-body choreography – that dance feeling. It actually looks like a real fight as opposed to just I point, and I shoot, which is kind of an easy cop-out in a way. We get a lot of that body-to-body.”

BARBIE---the Margot Robbie movie has earned an impressive $528.6 million worldwide in less than a week. By comparison, OPPENHEIMER earned $265 million in the same time period.

OPPENHEIMER---J. Robert Oppenheimer's grandson, Charles Oppenheimer, criticized the biomovie and the book it was based on for the scene in which his grandfather poisoned his professor's apple with cyanide after the professor was critical of Oppenheimer's lab work, “The part I like the least is this poison apple reference...If you read AMERICAN PROMETHEUS carefully enough, the authors say, ‘We don’t really know if it happened.’ There’s no record of him trying to kill somebody. That’s a really serious accusation and it’s historical revision. There’s not a single enemy or friend of Robert Oppenheimer who heard that during his life and considered it to be true."
He added, “Sometimes facts get dragged through a game of telephone. In the movie, it’s treated vaguely and you don’t really know what’s going on unless you know this incredibly deep backstory. So it honestly didn’t bother me. It bothers me that it was in the biography with that emphasis, not a disclaimer of, this is an unsubstantiated rumor that we want to put in our book to make it interesting.”

EYES WIDE SHUT---Academy Award-winning writer Frederick Raphael, 91, took jabs at Stanley Kubrick, Tom Cruise, Cruise's then-wife Nicole Kidman and others after co-writing the screenplay for EYES WIDE SHUT, Kubrick's last movie. In his new book, LAST POST, Raphael uses imaginary letters to criticize members of EYES WIDE SHUT. In his imaginary letter to Kubrick, Raphael took a jab at Cruise, "I have never been called a liar by anyone as I have been by the Harlan clan and by Tom Cruise, egocentric control freak to whom I have never spoken."
In another imaginary letter to Kubrick, he wrote, "Was there something just a touch naïve in your idea that casting a married couple as a married couple would enable you to put ‘the truth’ on the screen? One thing you can be pretty sure of: whatever any conjugal duo may disclose in public about their relationship, they rarely let any crucial cat out of the bag. Did you honestly suppose Cruise and Kidman were bound in genuine passion, rather than embraced in a careerist merger?"
In another letter, Raphael skewered Nicole Kidman, "Kidman has been a star for many years for many people: can you think of a single movie of hers you wanted to see again?"
Raphael also scorched Kubrick's wife/writer, Christiane Harlan, and her brother, Jan, “There has been an incessant campaign, led by the Harlans, whom I never met during the two or three years of addressing myself exclusively to you, to deny that I had anything much to do with the final version of Eyes Wide Shut...Until the Writers Guild intervened, they tried to eliminate me from the credits. The Harlans and Master Cruise have managed to insert some derogatory stuff in my Wikipedia entry."

Saw Oppenheimer. 1st half about the Manhattan Project and 2nd half about a hearing to cancel his security clearance after the war.

Great cast. Cillian Murphy being spoken about as a Oscar winner and have to agree a great performance. Good portrayal of somebody wondering about what he has unleashed. Also Emily Blunt as Mrs Oppenheimer, Matt Damon as LTGEN Groves, Robert Downey Jr, Kenneth Brannagh, John Hartnett, Sami Malek, Casey Affleck and the guy who killed Patrick Swayze in Ghost.

I enjoyed it.

Wont be watching Barbie !

FANTASTIC FOUR---movie critic Jeff Sneider said Adam Driver turned down an offer to co-star in the reboot movie, “This contradicts some stuff some we’ve put out there in the past, but…this comes from someone apparently working on the FANTASTIC FOUR movie. They said that Adam Driver was never really engaged in this. They sent Adam Driver the script a while back and he said that he couldn’t connect with the character on the page, and he passed very early on.”
Sneider said Marvel studios might approach Driver again with the new script being written by Josh Friedman.

COCAINE BEAR---Elizabeth Banks commented on if she is interested in a sequel, "I had an absolutely great time working on the project. I loved how subversive, crazy, silly and funny it was. I loved surprising people with the cast. I don’t think anybody was expecting Margo Martindale, who’s 70 years old, to shoot that kid. We had a lot [of] fun, and if I got the opportunity to surprise the audience and delight myself again, I would take it.”

SUITS---producer Gene Klein commented on a possibility of a revival series, "...in this era of reboots and reunions and all this other stuff, that I’m expecting a call at some point. But I’m not aware of any serious conversations. It’s just one of those things where, in this day and age, you wouldn’t be surprised if somebody called you someday. But so far, nothing that I’m aware of."
