THE KARATE KID---Ben Wang (AMERICAN BORN CHINESE) will be the new Karate Kid in the Sony Pictures movie with Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio returning.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD---after Mark Ruffalo replied "Yeah" when he was asked if he would return as the Hulk in CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD, a Marvel source said Ruffalo misunderstood the question, “Ruffalo is not actually going to be in BRAVE NEW WORLD. Instead, he misspoke, thinking he was agreeing that BRAVE NEW WORLD is one of Marvel’s next films, not that he was going to be in it.”

EDGE OF TOMORROW---Emily Blunt commented on the status of the sequel to the 2014 Tom Cruise sci fi movie, “I think when we were first talking about the sequel it was right before I was about to do MARY POPPINS RETURNS (2018), so it was quite a while ago. I think if we’re going to do one, we’d have to reimagine what the sequel would look like. It feels like it could be good.“

GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE---director Adam Wingard gave additional comments on the sequel, "This is his version of a training routine. I’m really big into Shaw Brothers martial arts. Those films are always about, ‘Here’s a big threat, and you have to do all these things to pump yourself up so that you can take on that threat.’ You’re gonna see lots of different versions of Godzilla in this movie."

INVASION---Apple TV+ renewed the series for Season 3.

TRASH MOUNTAIN---Lilly Wachowski movie underway in which a gay man returns to his rural Missouri hometown after his hoarding father died and left him a house filled with trash and junk.

TRIVIA---when Michael J. Fox started his career, he was unable to use his name because there was already an actor named Michael Fox with the Screen Actors Guild, so he used "J." as his middle initial, "The Screen Actors Guild prohibits any two members from working under the same stage name, and they already had a 'Michael Fox' on the books. My middle name is Andrew, but 'Andrew Fox' or 'Andy Fox' didn't cut it for me. 'Michael A. Fox' was even worse, the word fox having recently come into use as a synonym for attractive. (Presumptuous?) It also sounded uncomfortably Canadian — Michael Eh? Fox — but maybe I was just being oversensitive. And then I remembered one of my favorite character actors, Michael J. Pollard, the guileless accomplice in Bonnie and Clyde. I stuck in the J, which sometimes I tell people stands for either Jenuine or Jenius, and resubmitted my forms."
The original Michael Fox was a character actor who appeared in many tv shows and movies including the coroner on the original PERRY MASON, the original THE TWILIGHT ZONE and perhaps his most memorable movie role was the radio announcer for the prison football game in Burt Reynolds' THE LONGEST YARD.

GODZILLA MINUS ONE---director Takashi Yamazaki posted that he met Steven Spielberg and gave a Godzilla figure to Spielberg, “I’ve met GOD. What am I going to do with all this? I’m seriously crying. And Spielberg saw GMO 3 times. He told me he liked the characters in the film. I gave him a Godzilla figure, and he was so happy when he took it..”
Yamazaki also commented on a sequel to MINUS ONE, “I would certainly like to see what the sequel would look like. I know that Shikishima’s war seems over, and we’ve reached this state of peace and calm – but perhaps [it’s the] calm before the storm, and the characters have not yet been forgiven for what has been imposed upon them.”
He added, “I don’t know that anyone has pulled off a more serious tone of kaiju-versus-kaiju with human drama, and that challenge is something that I’d like to explore...When you have movies that feature [kaiju battles], I think it's very easy to put the spotlight and the camera on this massive spectacle, and it detaches itself from the human drama component...to make sure that the human drama and whatever's happening between [the] kaiju both have meaning, and both are able to affect one another in terms of plot development.”

ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING---Disney Television Group head Craig Erwich said Season 4 will have a new setting, “Well, I’m very excited to see Steve, Martin and Selena take a little break from the apartment building and come to Los Angeles. So in the same way that John Hoffman used the canvas of Broadway to tell what I think was one of the most unique seasons you’ve ever seen, the same unique Only Murders take will be applied to Los Angeles, which I’m really excited about.”

MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS---co-star Anna Sawai commented on a possible Season 2, "I talk to Kiersey [Clemons] and Ren [Watabe] all the time, and we still don't know! I'm asking the same question to the producers and the showrunner, Chris Black, and so I would like to know if you find out."

TRIVIA---Valentine's Day movie trivia.
The 1980 cult classic romantic fantasy movie SOMEWHERE IN TIME was written by Richard Matheson and starred Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour in which a successful playwright falls in love with a woman he sees in a photo and travels back in time to meet her. Forty-two years after the movie was filmed, Seymour revealed she and Reeve fell in love during filming, “Well, here comes the story that I’m officially telling you now, because Chris and I, when we made the film, we literally fell madly in love. When you see this film, you will see the real thing. But we didn’t let anyone know. So a few of the people who worked on the show kind of sussed it out, but we were as subtle as we could be about it...We were madly in love and life was wonderful. We were both single; it was a fantastic, amazing experience.”
Seymour said their romance ironically ended as they were about to film the key scene where their characters, Richard Collier and Elise McKenna, lose each other, “And then one day I came into work [to film] one of the biggest scenes in the movie… Just before that, Chris had had an earlier call and I came in about half an hour later, and they said, ‘Chris needs to talk to you about something.’ I thought, ‘That’s really odd, we’ve had a long time to talk about things, so what could it be?'”
Seymour said, “It was that he was about to have a baby, and that his ex-girlfriend hadn’t told him, and that she’d just announced it to the world."
She said while filming the scene, she had “tears coming halfway up my eyeballs...And I just kept saying, ‘You can’t cry, you can’t cry, you can’t cry, you’re happy. Elise is really, really happy right now."'
She added, “The good part of the story is that Chris went on to have these two beautiful children, and we met one another on many occasions. We remained really, really close friends, literally until the day he died. I have to believe that I will one day see him somewhere in time.”

LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER---director Charlotte Brandstrom commented on Season 2, "What I know and what I can say for a fact is that it’s going to be darker, and it’s going to be edgier and more character-driven. I still think that we have some very interesting episodes coming up.
I watched all of them over Christmas, just the cuts. I think it’s going to be a very good season. We tried to make it more gritty, a little bit more dirty I guess. And not in the image, but to make it as authentic as possible. We have some very surprising twists and turns in it as well.”

LORD-RINGS-FOTOR.jpg

SUITS: L.A.---Stephen Amell will star in the SUITS spinoff in which he plays a former New York federal prosecutor who sets up a Los Angeles law firm specializing in crime and entertainment law.

ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING---Molly Shannon has joined the Season 4 cast as a “high powered L.A. business woman who finds herself drawn into the world of the investigation in N.Y.”.

SUGAR BANDITS---Will Smith will star in the movie based on the novel DEVILS IN EXILE in which an ex-Special Forces soldier joins a vigilante group of war veterans battling drug dealers in Boston.

BATSO---Ethan Hawke, Daniel Radcliffe and Jessica Biel will star in the movie about mountain climbers who conquer El Capitan in Yosemite National Park. The synopsis says, “In 1970, ‘The Wall of Early Morning Light’ was an unthinkable climb. For larger-than-life climbing legends Warren ‘Batso’ Harding and Dean Caldwell, it represented a near-impossible physical and mental challenge. For iconoclast Batso, it also offered one last chance to stick it to the naysayers who thought him too old, too out of touch and too crazy. For novice Dean, it was a way to see beyond his 9-to-5 existence and unlock the awesome potential of the human spirit.
What began as an almost farcical exercise became one of the great underdog stories in the history of the sport. The estimated 10-day climb stretched into a 28-day marathon of grit and determination that sparked a media sensation.”

REPO MAN 2---director Alex Cox will return to direct the sequel to his 1984 cult classic movie. Kiowa Gordon will replace Emilio Estevez as Otto. The sequel begins “after Otto has boarded his trusty 1967 Chevy Malibu to journey across the infinities of time and space. In that time, he has aged exactly 90 minutes."

PEACOCK---four new series underway. DEVIL IN DISGUISE is a six-part miniseries about serial killer John Wayne Gacy, who was known as the "Killer Clown". MR. THROWBACK is about a hapless memorabilia dealer who teams up with his sixth grade teammate, Seth Curry. ALL HER FAULT is about a mother who goes to pick her son from a friend's house, but he is not there. The fourth series is untitled with Simu Liu playing an intelligence analyst who seeks who hacked into his brain.

TRIVIA---Walter Koenig commented on playing Pavel Chekov in STAR TREK VI: THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY, the last movie from the original tv series, "I was absolutely f*cking miserable from day one on STAR TREK VI. It was so disappointing to me… and I didn’t even have Harve Bennett to blame anymore. Ralph Winter (co-producer) is a charming, delightful, and considerate man, and I had considered Nick [Meyer] a booster of mine because he had written the best stuff in STAR TREK IV as well as directing STAR TREK II, but I found this script to be so totally devoid of any individuality for the supporting characters. It was as if you could literally have taken one long speech and taken a scissor to it, cut it into pieces, and handed it to us. For me, it was not a wrap-up at all. I thought, at last some recognition, some attention had to be paid to the supporting characters, and given their moment. There were no first-person personal pronouns; none of us ever said 'I'. It was always 'Keptain, there is a ship out there,' not 'Keptain, I see a ship out there and I’m worried about this.' We were there as expository vehicles, and that alone, and that was really painful. My sense of ego and identity just cried out for some opportunity to express character, and it was just not available."

Walter Koenig's most memorable scene as Chekov in STAR TREK VI: THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY was when Chekov confronted crewman Dax with the gravity boot, "Perhaps you have heard Russian epic of Cinderella? If shoe fits, wear it!"

AVATAR 3---James Cameron denied rumors that AVATAR 3 will be nine hours long, "By the way, can I just shoot something down right now that has been propagated. There is no nine-hour rough cut [of AVATAR 3] … I would put a shotgun in my mouth if I ever did a nine-hour rough cut. No, what I said was its nine hours of material, meaning AVATAR 3, AVATAR 4, and AVATAR 5 — that’s, you know, three hours a movie. Somehow that turned into a nine-hour — can you imagine?”

Enter: young American Amelia (Blu Hunt). After her mother’s mysterious murder, she learns her missing father may be the legendary detective. MADAME WEB---the Sony Pictures Spider-Man spinoff movie earned only $17.6 million in its first three days which is the lowest ever in the 22 year-old Sony Spider-Man Universe. By comparison MORBIUS earned $39 million in its first three days, and SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME earned $260.1 million in its first three days.
MADAME WEB has dismal Rotten Tomatoes scores of 13% (critics) and 54% (audience).
Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura commented on superhero movie fatigue, "I think two things have been going on, both with Marvel and DC. First of all, I think those kinds of superhero movies have suffered a little bit because they’ve gotten away from what made, for instance, the first Iron Man or Christopher Nolan’s Batman successful to begin with. Those were really character-based movies.
Then, when you start getting into these larger films where you’re trying to connect all the worlds together, you’re actually getting away from the emotional journey of the central characters.
So, for me, part of the fatigue is that you have to keep track of everything now. You know, it’s almost like homework. With MADAME WEB, you don’t have to know anything coming into the movie. You’re going to meet a new character and then go on an emotional journey with them.
That leads to my second point, a lot of recent superhero movies have also gone away from the thing that really works about having extraordinary characters, which is getting to know them and then going on a ride together.
That makes it more character-based and therefore engaging, it’s not just about the spectacle. Trust me, if you’ve seen some of my movies, I love spectacle. But when spectacle for its own sake begins to wear a film down, I think there’s a lesson to be learned.”

SPIDER-MAN NOIR---Nicolas Cage is "in serious talks" to star in the Amazon Prime live-action tv series set in New York during the Great Depression.

SUPERMAN & LOIS---CW head Brad Schwartz said Season 4 will be the last season because production company Warner Bros. Television, “They don’t want a competing Superman product in the marketplace" with SUPERMAN: LEGACY underway at DC Studios.

MADAME WEB---a source said Sony Pictures may have cancelled the MADAME WEB franchise after it bombed in its opening week, "We’re not going to see another MADAME WEB movie for another decade-plus. It failed. Sony tried to make a movie that was a different type of superhero movie.”
An anonymous Walt Disney executive commented on the failures of MADAME WEB and THE MARVELS, “More appealing movies are a great way to jump the political issues. But more and more, our audience (or the segment of the audience that has been politicized) equates the perceived messaging in a film as a quality issue.
They won’t say they find female empowerment distasteful in THE MARVELS or STAR WARS, but they will say they don’t like those movies because they are ‘bad.’ So ‘make better movies’ becomes code for ‘make movies that conform to regressive gender stereotypes or put men front and center in the narrative.’ Which is what you’re seeing now and what Bob [Iger]’s pivot is about right now.”

MASTERS OF THE AIR---the World War II miniseries had Apple TV+'s highest premiere ever for a series in its first season, but the streamer did not release specific numbers.

TRUE DETECTIVE: NIGHT COUNTRY---the season finale had 3.2 million viewers and had a season average of 12.5 million viewers which made it the most-watched season of the franchise. Season 1 had an 11.9 million viewer average.

GODZILLA MINUS ONE---director Takashi Yamazaki commented on Godzilla's design, “We wanted to make Godzilla very, very cool for this film. The head is on the smaller side, the legs are very thick. When the feet are stomping on the ground, you can almost see the toes being raised, like a wild animal’s. And we wanted impact for the audience, so there’s an intense level of getting up close, personal and detailed, that you can’t really do with a man in a suit."
He added, "In terms of polygon counts, we’re talking millions that went into creating Godzilla this time. In terms of the skin texture, there was a dinosaur origin, but when it’s wounded, a regeneration happens and there’s a different texture, like you would see on any wound. We wanted a mix, brought in new layers that would make the look very unique.
We wanted to go back to the original reason for Godzilla’s existence. The creature is a metaphor for nuclear weapons, so we mimicked the way a weapon would work inside of his body. Each element would come together and create an implosion, and that’s when the blue rays would come out.”

GODZILLA-MINUS-ONE-2-FOTOR.jpg

THE PENGUIN---rumors claim Robert Pattinson was seen on the film set which led to rumors of a Batman cameo in THE PENGUIN.

ANYONE BUT YOU---Sydney Sweeney hinted a sequel is underway, “I can’t actually reveal all of my secrets, but Glen [Powell] and I – I mean, I was talking to him this morning. We’re talking about stuff.”

THE SIX BILLION DOLLAR MAN---Mark Wahlberg commented on the status of the movie based on the Lee Majors THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN tv series, "We've got the rights again, we're looking at making that movie - hopefully soon! Again, ticking clock. Thank God, it's an older guy who they feel like has some real-life experience that makes it worth it for him to be the subject of this experiment."

TRIVIA---Rex Reason and Jeff Morrow starred together in two 1950s sci fi movies which featured a classic monster. In the highly-regarded 1955 THIS ISLAND EARTH, Reason played Dr. Cal Meacham and Morrow played alien Exeter. The movie featured the classic alien Metaluna Mutant. WEDNESDAY---Jenna Ortega commented on Season 2, “I’ve just been reading scripts. By the time we actually start shooting, it will have been over two years since we wrapped. So internally, mentally, I’m like, ‘Okay, do I start prepping myself now?’ I don’t consider myself Method or anything like that, but I do think it’s very normal for actors to naturally acclimate or take in the surroundings of their characters, especially when you’re doing something like that for so long.
It might be time to start getting a little more sarcastic again or watching different movies again to get into the mindset. But even reading scripts has been exciting, seeing all of the new characters that are coming in. We’re definitely expanding on the supernatural world. Our show had all sorts of werewolves and vampires and da-ta-da. And I think we expand on that a little bit.
I mean, in the first season we had episodes that really stood out visually, like the dance episode was a really big one for people, and that setting was very particular and it felt like PROM NIGHT, a little bit, or CARRIE. Every episode [of season two] that I’ve read so far is like that. It just stands out on its own as a very memorable scene or bit or setting, which I think is what I’m most excited for, because to pull that off for eight episodes is, I think, really incredible and really lucky.”

TRUE DETECTIVE: NIGHT COUNTRY---creator Nic Pizzolatto posted new criticism of NIGHT COUNTRY in which he said the sequel series is a "hot mess" and writer Issa Lopez "butchered" his original series. Co-star Kali Reis replied, “That’s a **** shame. But hey I guess ‘if you don’t have anything good to share, ***** on others’ is the new wave lol.”

NUREMBERG---Colin Hanks and Mark O'Brien will star in the movie based on the book THE NAZI AND THE PSYCHIATRIST in which Dr. Gustav Gilbert is assigned to evaluate Nazi war criminals during the Nuremberg Trials.

SAVE THE GREEN PLANET---Emma Stone is in talks to star in the Yorgos Lanthimos remake of the South Korean dark comedy movie about a man who kidnaps and tortures a businessman who is supposedly part of an alien invasion.

SALEM'S LOT---Stephen King commented on Warner Bros. not releasing the movie remake of the tv miniseries based on his vampire novel, ”Between you and me, Twitter, I’ve seen the new SALEM’S LOT, and it’s quite good. Old-school horror filmmaking: slow build, big payoff. Not sure why WB is holding it back; not like it’s embarrassing, or anything. Who knows. I just write the f**king things.”

TRIVIA---the 1963 war epic 55 DAYS AT PEKING starred Charlton Heston, Ava Gardner and David Niven. During filming, Gardner's disruptive behavior became a major problem. She often arrived on the film set drunk, late and argued with director Nicholas Ray by demanding script rewrites. She also walked off the set because an extra took her photograph. Heston said screenplay writer Ben Barzman solved the problem by killing off Gardner's character, Baroness Natalie Ivanoff, who suffered fatal shrapnel wounds. Heston suggested Gardner's lines be given to Paul Lukas, the doctor in her death scene.

SUITS: L.A.---Josh McDermitt (THE WALKING DEAD) will co-star on the spinoff series as law partner Stuart Lane.

TRIVIA---Michael Pare commented on his co-star Rick Moranis in STREETS OF FIRE, "Rick Moranis drove me out of my mind. There's this whole wave of insult comedy. In the real world, if someone insults you a couple of times, you can smack them. Or punch them. You can't do that on a movie set. And these comedians walk around, and they can say whatever they want. I'm just not that handy with that. Comedians are a special breed. They can antagonize you and say whatever they... want, and you can't do anything to stop them... He's this weird looking little guy who couldn't get laid in a whore house with a fistful of fifties. He would imitate me. The first thing he says to me is, 'Do you just act cool, or are you really cool?' That was the first sentence out of his mouth to me in Joel Silver's office. And I was like, 'Oh... this is not going to go well.' But he was one of Joel's dear friends, and he ended up making a bunch of movies for Disney. I just wasn't that sharp. I wasn't ready for that kind of crap".
He added, "Here is the thing... in movies you aren't supposed to do things for real. You can't really hit someone, you can't really stab someone. Someone will get hurt. A comedian can go at you full bore because he can't inflict any physical damage. He drove me nuts. Some people say that our relationship is the best work in the film. It was a very antagonistic relationship. When I looked at him, I had some very serious anger towards him. In reality, what I should've done was punched him right in the face the minute that he got into the car in that first scene. It would've been funny to have Rick wear a bandage across his nose the end film."

Your commitment to our saga has had a unique impact on its success and evolution… as my youngest daughter would say, it’s profound.

FAST-XI-FOTOR.png

THE FANTASTIC FOUR---Ebon Moss-Bachrach said motion capture will be used to play the Thing, “In the past, I think they’ve done a suit. Michael Chiklis wore a suit that apparently was really uncomfortable, and it’s kind of… we’re past that. It’s a little kind of cosplay, kind of amateur that kind of stuff now with the technology we have. So yeah, I think it’s mostly performance captured – motion capture, performance capture.”

DUNE: PART TWO---director Denis Villeneuve commented on his approach to making movies, “Frankly, I hate dialogue. Dialogue is for theater and television. I don’t remember movies because of a good line, I remember movies because of a strong image. I’m not interested in dialogue at all. Pure image and sound, that is the power of cinema, but it is something not obvious when you watch movies today. Movies have been corrupted by television.”
He added, “In a perfect world, I’d make a compelling movie that doesn’t feel like an experiment but does not have a single word in it either. People would leave the cinema and say, ‘Wait, there was no dialogue?’ But they won’t feel the lack.”

While others worry that grief has made her a victim of magical thinking, the woman refuses to be separated from the dog except for brief periods of time. Isolated from the rest of the world, increasingly obsessed with the dog’s care, determined to read its mind and fathom its heart, she comes dangerously close to unraveling. But while troubles abound, rich and surprising rewards lie in store for both of them."

And then come on the back of that, and they didn’t. So I’m not sure that it’s going to continue." Dorn added, "I don’t know either. I have no idea. REBECCA FERGUSON---Rebecca Ferguson commented on an anonymous actor who humiliated her during filming, “I did a film with an absolute idiot of a co-star – doesn’t matter who it is. I’m going to try not to give this away, but I remember there was a moment, and this human being was being so insecure and angry because this person couldn’t get the scenes out. And I think I was so vulnerable and uncomfortable that I got screamed at.
[But] because this person was number one on the call sheet, there was no safety net for me. So no one had my back. And I would cry walking off set. This person would literally look at me in front of the whole crew and say, ‘You call yourself an actor? This is what I have to work with? What is this?’ And I stood there just breaking. This happens.
I remember the next day and I said walked on, ‘You get off my set’. It’s the first time I’ve ever spoken, I remember being so scared. I looked at this person and ‘You can F off. I’m gonna work towards a tennis ball. I never want to see you again.’
Then I remember the producers came up and said you can’t do this to “number one” and we have to let this person be on set, Ferguson, but I said the person can turn around and I can act to the back of the head… and I did.”
Ferguson did not name the actor, but she added, "It's not Hugh [Jackman]. Not Tom Cruise. I've done many movies back in the day."
Two actors who co-starred with Ferguson have denied they are the culprit. Dwayne Johnson, who co-starred with Ferguson in HERCULES, posted, “Hate seeing this but love seeing her stand up to bull*****. Rebecca was my guardian angel sent from heaven on our set. I love that woman. I’d like to find out who did this.” Emily Blunt co-starred with Ferguson in THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN, and Blunt's representative said, “Rebecca and Emily are friends and there’s nothing but love between them."

BLACK WIDOW---Ray Winston commented on the reshoots ordered by Marvel Studios, "It was fine until you have to do the reshoots. Then you find out that a few producers have come down, and your performance is too much, it’s too strong… That’s the way Marvel works. It can be soul-destroying because you feel like you’re doing great work. I actually said, 'You ought to recast it because that was it for me.' And you end up doing it again because you’re contracted to do it. Otherwise you end up in court. It’s like being kicked in the balls."

TRIVIA---Kathleen Turner landed in the mud in two movies.

COYOTE VS. ACME---Will Forte commented on Warner Bros. shelving the movie, "I know that a lot of you haven’t gotten a chance to see our movie. And sadly, it’s a looking like you never will. So I was thinking what everyone else must have been thinking: this thing must be a hunk of junk. But then I saw it, And it’s Incredible.
[It’s] super funny throughout, visually stunning, sweet, sincere, and emotionally resonant in a very earned way. As the credits rolled, I just sat there thinking how lucky I was to be a part of something so special. That quickly turned to confusion and frustration. This was the movie they’re not going to release?
Even when a movie tests very well (like ours), there’s no guarantee that it’s gonna be a hit. And at the end of the day, the people who paid for this movie can obviously do whatever they want with it. It doesn’t mean I have to like it (I f—– hate it). Or agree with it. And it doesn’t mean that this movie is anything less than magnificent.
You would be so proud of it – a movie that should be seen, but won’t. Please know that all the years and years of hard work, dedication and love that you put into this movie shows in every frame.”

I probably will never do anything like it again because I don’t make sense in that world. And I know that now. But sometimes in this industry, you sign on to something, and it’s one thing and then as you’re making it, it becomes a completely different thing, and you’re like, Wait, what? But it was a real learning experience, and of course it’s not nice to be a part of something that’s ripped to shreds, but I can’t say that I don’t understand."

FILM FATIGUE---Walt Disney head Bob Iger commented on claims movies are not as successful because of fan fatigue with superhero and franchise movies, “A lot of people think it’s audience fatigue, it’s not audience fatigue. They want great films. And if you build it great, they will come, and there are countless examples of that.
Some are ours, and some are others. OPPENHEIMER is a perfect example of that. Just a fantastic film. Focus is really important.
We reduced the output of Marvel, both the number of films they make, and the number of TV shows, and that really becomes critical, but I feel good about the team.
I feel good about the IP we’re making. I talked about a lot of the projects. We look years ahead, really. And it’s iterative.
Not only do you look at the films you’re making, you look at every part of that process, who the directors are, who’s being cast, reading scripts, I personally watch films three to five times with the team and just create a culture of excellence and respect which is really important with the creative community. And again, the track record speaks for itself.”
Iger said Disney has cancelled some projects, “We’re doing a lot. When we talk about improving our film, slate, there are really three approaches. One is you have to kill things you no longer believe [in]. And that’s not easy in this business. Because either you’ve gotten started, you have some … costs. It’s a relationship with either your employees or with a creative community. And it’s not an easy thing. But you got to make those tough calls...We’ve actually made those tough calls. We’ve not been that public about it.”

ALIEN: ROMULUS---co-star Isabela Merced commented on the gore content of director Fede Alavarez's ROMULUS, “When we were doing reshoots, Fede Álvarez gave me the iPad where he watches playback, and he had the movie pulled up. So I told him I wanted to see parts of it, and he showed it to me. I was the one holding the iPad, and there were ten people around me watching it on the iPad. So there’s a scene that I’m in, and they all had to turn away. Not one person stayed looking at that iPad because it was so disgusting. I was so excited.”

And we had so much respect because those criticisms were coming from a place of love and loyalty and intelligence and intellect and all of that… But we were like [makes pained expression] ‘We’ve got so many people to prove and to ourselves too.
So Jonathan Frakes – one of our favorite directors – really shepherded us and took us under his wing. He welcomed us as a proxy for the rest of the franchise. And he was like, ‘No, no, no. Welcome. This is how it goes. They hated us too.’
They used to get letters like, ‘We don’t need you… why are you trying to get in the way of our Kirk and Spock?’ He said it took [THE NEXT GENERATION] like three seasons for them to finally take hold of us.
I remember how we were so comforted by that. I’m still grateful for him to this day because he was really kind of like a Papa Big Brother for us in the beginning.”

FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA---photo released of Anya Taylor-Joy as Furiosa and the prequel's synopsis which says, "As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by the Immortan Joe. [In] FURY ROAD , the story unfolds over three days and two nights. This film follows the story that runs directly into FURY ROAD , for 15 years. It’s a different animal. It’s got many different locations. It’s an odyssey. No question.”
Miller said he has written the screenplay for another Mad Max movie, which is thought to be MAD MAX: THE WASTELAND. Miller said he has three candidates to direct the new movie.

FURIOSA-FOTOR.png

REBEL MOON--PART ONE: A CHILD OF FIRE---Zack Snyder claimed more people streamed REBEL MOON than saw BARBIE in theaters, “You think about Netflix, for instance, where you push a button...REBEL MOON, right? Say, right now, it’s almost at 90 million views, right? 80 or 90 million accounts turned it on, give or take. They assume two viewers per screening, right? That’s the kind of math. So you think if that movie was in the theater as a distribution model, that’s like 160,000,000 people supposedly watching based on that math. 160,000,000 people at $10 a ticket would be…what is that math? I don’t know. 160,000,000 times ten. That’s 1.6 billion. So more people probably saw REBEL MOON than saw BARBIE in the theater, right?”
Snyder also commented on Batman, “Batman can’t kill is canon. And I’m like, ‘okay, the first thing I wanna do when you say that is I wanna see what happens’. And they go, ‘well don’t put him in a situation where he has to kill someone’"
He added, “You’re protecting your god in a weird way, right? You’re making your god irrelevant if he can’t be in that situation. He has to now deal with that. If he does do that what does that mean? What does it tell you, does he stand up to it? Does he survive that as a god? As your god, can Batman survive that?”

REBEL-MOON-FOTOR.png

SPIDER-MAN---Kirsten Dunst was asked if she would return for a future Marvel Cinematic Universe project, "In a word: Yes. Because you get paid a lot of money, and I have two children, and I support my mother."

As they get closer to the truth, the trio draw the attention of some of the most ruthless killers alive—all intent on putting a stop to their search.”

SNL 1975---cast edition for the movie about SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE include: Nicholas Braun (SUCCESSION) will play Jim Henson, Tommy Dewey (CASUAL) will play Michael O'Donoghue and Nicholas Podany (HELLO TOMORROW) will play Billy Crystal. The synopsis says, “The film tells the true story of what happened that night behind the scenes in the moments leading up to the first SNL broadcast, retelling chaos and magic of a revolution that almost wasn’t, counting down the minutes in real time to the infamous words, ‘Live From New York, it’s Saturday Night.'”

NINE BODIES IN A MEXICAN MORGUE---Eric McCormack will star in the MGM+ miniseries whose synopsis says, “It follows the tale of nine strangers who find themselves lost in a remote Mexican jungle after their small plane traveling from Guatemala to the U.S. crashes. One by one, the survivors are murdered, leaving the remaining passengers to solve the terrifying mystery before they too fall victim to the killer.”

UNDER THE BRIDGE---Hulu released the synopsis for the miniseries starring Riley Keough and Lily Gladstone which is based on the book, “It tells the 1997 true story of fourteen-year old Reena Virk who went to join friends at a party and never returned home. Through the eyes of Godfrey and a local police officer, the series takes us into the hidden world of the young girls accused of the murder — revealing startling truths about the unlikely killer.”

THE KILLER'S GAME---Dave Bautista and Terry Crews will star in the movie whose synopsis says, “Based on Jay Bonansinga’s novel, THE KIILER'S GAME follows a veteran assassin (Bautista), who, according to the film’s synopsis, is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and authorizes a hit on himself to avoid the pain that is destined to follow. But soon after, he finds out that he was misdiagnosed— and must fend off an army of former colleagues trying to kill him.”

MERV---Zooey Deschanel will star in the Amazon MGM Studios romantic comedy movie about an estranged couple who “learns that the dog they share is suffering from depression following their break-up, awkwardly reconciling over the holidays when they take their dog on a sunny vacation to Florida to lift his spirits.”

TRIVIA---director David Lynch commented on the main condition for his cameo of legendary director John Ford in Steven Spielberg's THE FABELMANS, “Well, Cheetos, number one, I love them. And any chance I can, I get them. But I know that they’re not exactly health food. So when I do leave the house and I get a chance to… But I don’t get them that often, honestly. If I do get them, I want a big bag. Because once you start… you need to have a lot before you could slow down and actually stop. Otherwise, with a small bag, then you’d be prowling for days to find more...It’s incredible flavor.”
