NUCLEAR WAR: A SCENARIO---Denis Villeneuve will direct the movie based on the Annie Jacobsen book NUCLEAR WAR: A SCENARIO which describes what might happen during a nuclear war based on “military and civilian experts who built the weapons and have been privy to the response plans and have been responsible for those decisions should they need to be made.”

AVENGELYNE---Olivia Wilde will direct the movie based on the comic book. Margot Robbie is a co-producer.
WALT DISNEY---Walt Disney head Bob Iger commented on defeating investor Nelson Peltz in a proxy battle after Peltz accused Disney's projects of being too woke, “The term woke is thrown around rather liberally, no pun intended in that regard. I think a lot of people don’t even understand really what it means.
I think the noise is sort of quieted down. I’ve been preaching this for a long time at the company before I left and since I came back then our number one goal is to entertain.
The bottom line is that infusing messaging as a sort of a number one priority in our films and TV shows is not what we’re up to. They need to be entertaining, and where the Disney company can have a positive impact on the world, whether it’s, you know, fostering acceptance and understanding of people of all different types, great.
But generally speaking, we need to be an entertainment-first company … And understanding that look, we’re trying to reach a very, very diverse audience.
And on one hand in order to do that, what you do, the stories you tell, have to really reflect the audience that you’re trying to reach, but that audience because they are so diverse, really, first and foremost, they want to be entertained, and sometimes they can’t be turned off by certain things.
And we just have to be more sensitive to the interest of a broad audience. It’s not easy, you know, so that we can’t please everybody all the time, right?”
THE WALKING DEAD: DEAD CITY---Kim Coates (SONS OF ANARCHY) has joined the Season 2 cast in the recurring role of New York gang leader Bruegel.
THE BIG STONE GRID---S. Craig Zahler (BONE TOMAHAWK) will direct the noir horror movie about two New York detectives who investigate an extortion ring involving sadistic murders.
HAPPY GILMORE 2---after co-star Christopher McDonald said the sequel is underway, Drew Barrymore, Adam Sandler's friend and co-star, also said the sequel is underway, “I’ll just say this, from my source, that it is in process.”
TULSA KING---Frank Grillo will play Kansas City mobster Bill Bevilaqua in Season 2.
MICHAEL J. FOX---Michael J. Fox said suffering from Parkinson's disease would not stop him from returning to acting, “if someone offers me a part, and I do it, and I have a good time, great.”
TRIVIA---in MALONE, Burt Reynolds played an ex-CIA assassin who saved a small Oregon town from a wealthy nationalist terrorist leader. At the end of the movie, Malone burned his Virginia drivers license. On the license, the Commissioner of the Department of Motor Vehicle's signature is, "Alfred E. Neuman"---MAD MAGAZINE's irreverent cover boy.
