OPPENHEIMER---FORBES said the Academy Award-winning movie will net Christopher Nolan $72 million after agent and lawyer fees are deducted and does not include future royalties.

THE RAZZIES---the slasher movie WINNIE THE POOH: BLOOD AND HONEY won the Razzie Awards for Worst Picture, Worst Director (Rhys Frake Waterfield), Worst Screenplay (Waterfield), Worst Screen Couple (Winnie the Pooh and Piglet), and Worst Remake/Rip-off/Sequel.

GODZILLA MINUS ONE---John Carpenter commented on the movie winning the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, the first Oscar for the 70 year-old Toho monster movie franchise, "Incredible! GODZILLA MINUS ONE wins an Academy Awards for special effects. In my lifetime. Fantastic!"
Guillermo del Toro posted, "Oscar Winner Godzilla, I feel so moved."
GODZILLA MINUS ONE also won eight Japanese Academy Awards including Best Picture.

SPIDER-MAN---the eight SPIDER-MAN movies will return to theaters to celebrate Columbia Pictures' 100th anniversary from April 15 to June 3.

HALLOWEEN---Miramax Television head Marc Helwig commented on the tv series, "The foundation of it is the original film, the John Carpenter movie, the characters of that film, and perhaps a group of characters that we haven’t really focused on that much in recent film versions or even in a number of them. It’s a creative reset completely and going back to the original film, as opposed to spinning out of any of the more recent film adaptations.”

UNFROSTED: THE POP-TARTS STORY---Hugh Grant will play a "disgruntled Shakespearean actor who, much to his chagrin, finds himself having to don the Tony The Tiger outfit" in the Jerry Seinfeld movie about the popular Kellogg's toast pastry.

DUTCH & RAZZLEKHAN---Chloe Grace Mortez and Lewis Pullman will star in the movie based on the true story whose synopsis says, “The film will tell the explosive and unbelievably true story of the most expensive heist in history, with Heather “Razzlekhan” Morgan (Moretz) and Ilya “Dutch” Lichtenstein (Pullman) — lovers, hipsters, and aspiring rapper-entrepreneurs — at its center. After stealing over $4 billion worth of cryptocurrency, the millennial couple was caught by the Department of Justice and charged with conspiracy to launder the stolen bitcoin in February 2022.”

HARRY POTTER---Miriam Margolyes, who played Professor Sprout, said she loves the HARRY POTTER franchise, but she has concern for the fans, "I worry about Harry Potter fans because they should be over that by now. It was 25 years ago, and it’s for children. I think it’s for children.
They get stuck in it. I do cameos, and people say, ‘We’re having a Harry Potter-themed wedding, and I think, ‘Gosh, what’s their first night of fun going to be?’ I can’t even think about it. No.”

ANKLE SNATCHER---Sony Pictures horror movie underway based on the short story whose synopsis says, “The story follows Marcus, who grew up believing his father killed his mother — then blamed it on the boogeyman under the bed,” reads the synopsis. “Always leave the lights on, his father warned, or the boogeyman will get you. Marcus still heeds the superstition, especially when he invites his new girlfriend over. Is Marcus haunted by a creature or has he just inherited his father’s murderous delusions? The night will tell.”

TRIVIA---British actors Kieron Moore and Janette Scott co-starred in THE DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS based on the novel in which ravenous alien plants threaten mankind. Moore and Scott reunited to co-star in another sci fi movie CRACK IN THE WORLD in which scientists use an atomic weapon to release the Earth's geothermal energy which accidentally causes a crack in the world.

Kieron Moore played Tom Goodwin and Janette Scott played Karen Goodwin in THE DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS.

Moore played Dr. Ted Rampion and Scott played Dr. Maggie Sorenson in CRACK IN THE WORLD.

REBEL MOON: PART TWO--THE SCARGIVER---photo released of Sofia Boutella returning as Kora. Zack Snyder commented on the sequel, “It’s got way more action than the first movie, very intense and crazy action. It’s absolutely an emotional rollercoaster you’re going to be on with these cats. We discover the backstories of our heroes, and there is an interesting correlation between what’s happened to most of them to make this battle cathartic and symbolic.”

ACADEMY AWARDS---the 96th Academy Awards ceremony drew 19.5 million viewers which is 4% more than 2023's 18.8 million and the highest of the last four years. However, the 2014 ceremony had 43.7 million viewers and the 2019 ceremony had 30.5 million viewers.

THE FALL GUY---poster released for the movie starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt that is based on the Lee Majors stunt man/bounty hunter tv series.

FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA---George Miller commented on why he chose Anya Taylor-Joy to play young Furiosa instead of Charlize Theron returning, "It definitely would have been Charlize [had FURIOSA been made before FURY ROAD]. As time went on, I began thinking, 'Oh, maybe we could do de-ageing. Then I watched really masterful filmmakers like Ang Lee and Martin Scorsese, doing GEMINI MAN and THE IRISHMAN, and I saw that it hadn't been licked. All you'd be watching is, 'Look how well the technology works?' It would not have been persuasive."
He added, "Ultimately, it's an intuitive response. There's an innately resolute quality in [Taylor-Joy]. She's a very determined and rigorous person. She has a mystique about her. And she'd been trained young as a ballet dancer. Charlize trained young as a ballet dancer. There's a precision to them that was needed."

CHRISTOPHER NOLAN---VARIETY claims Christopher Nolan may develop a movie remake of the 1960s Patrick McGoohan tv series THE PRISONER or write a new screenplay for a new movie.

NATIONAL TREASURE 3---Nicolas Cage commented on the status of the proposed sequel, "Here we go! See, you're the one that brings these things up and they go out and they eclipse everything else. No, there is no NATIONAL TREASURE 3. If you want to find treasure, don't look at Disney, okay? It's not there."

THIS IS SPINAL TAP 2---Paul McCartney, Elton John, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood and Questlove will have cameos in the sequel to the 1984 movie.

MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE---US magazine said its sources claim Lindsay Lohan is in talks to join the MCU, “She’s in talks to play a vixen superhero.”

JUSTIFIED: CITY PRIMEVAL---Walton Goggins hinted a Season 2 may be in the future, "Everything is in line. I think everybody’s just waiting for schedules and FX to say, “Go.” We’ll see. We’ll see what happens.”

TRIVIA---the World War II movie WHERE EAGLES DARE starred Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood and was directed by Brian G. Hutton. The movie featured a Luftwaffe helicopter that flew in General Rosemeyer to interrogate US Army Brigadier General Carnaby, who was captured after his airplane was shot down. The helicopter used in the movie was an American Bell 47 that was introduced in 1946, after World War II. The Luftwaffe did use a helicopter, the Fa 223 Drache (Dragon), which was the world's first production helicopter, of which only 20 were built and saw very limited service in 1944-1945.
Derren Nesbitt, who played Gestapo Major von Hapen, told director Hutton the Luftwaffe did not have helicopters when the movie was set. Hutton asked Nesbitt if he was absolutely sure, and Nesbitt said he was. Hutton then replied, "They'll never know in Arkansas."

The movie used an American Bell 47, that was introduced in 1946 after World War II, to play the Luftwaffe helicopter. When Derren Nesbitt told director Brian G. Hutton the Luftwaffe did not have helicopters when the movie was set, Hutton replied, "They'll never know in Arkansas."

The Luftwaffe Fa 223 Drache (Dragon) helicopter saw very limited service in 1944-1945.

THE MAN WITH THE BAG---Arnold Schwarzenegger and Alan Ritchson will star in the Christmas comedy movie in which Santa Claus, a thief and his daughter and Santa's elves team up to recover Santa's stolen magic bag.

SCREAM 7---Neve Campbell and director Kevin Williamson are returning after Campbell exited SCREAM 6 due to a salary dispute.

UNTAMED---Eric Bana will star in the Netflix six-part miniseries whose synopsis says, “[Eric Inman] a special agent for the National Parks Service who works to enforce human law in nature’s vast wilderness. The investigation of a brutal death sends Inman on a collision course with the dark secrets within the park and in his own past.”

GOLF---Owen Wilson will star in the untitled Apple TV+ comedy golf tv series whose synopsis says, “[Pryce Cahill] an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. After he gets fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store and his wife walks out on him, Pryce hedges his bets entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom.”

CBS---CBS renewed GHOSTS and FIRE COUNTRY.

TRIVIA---Reb Brown, a former running back on the 1967 USC Trojans national championship team, was the first actor to play Captain America in the 1979 tv movies CAPTAIN AMERICA and CAPTAIN AMERICA II: DEATH TOO SOON. Brown might have missed the distinction of playing the first Captain America had it not been for USC signing another star running back, “They recruited another running back. His name was O.J. Simpson. I stood around and watched this new kid run and I realized right that day that I was in the wrong business.”
After transferring out of USC, Brown chose to become an actor. Ironically, Simpson also chose to become an actor after an all-star career in the NFL and is best known for playing Detective Nordberg in the NAKED GUN movies.
Both of the former USC running backs appeared in the 1981 tv movie GOLDIE AND THE BOXER GO TO HOLLYWOOD.

STAR WARS: ROGUE SQUADRON---Patty Jenkins said she has signed a deal with Lucasfilm to write and direct ROGUE SQUADRON, which reportedly had been shelved earlier, “So, when I left STAR WARS to do WONDER WOMAN 3, I thought maybe I’ll come back to STAR WARS after WONDER WOMAN 3. So we did a deal for that to happen, started a deal, but I thought I was doing WONDER WOMAN. When that went away, Lucasfilm and I were like, ‘Oh, we gotta finish this deal.’ We finished the deal right as the strike was happening."
She added, “So I now owe a draft of STAR WARS, and so we will see what happens there. You know, like, who knows? It’s hard. They have a hard job in front of them of what’s the first movie they’re gonna do. They have other directors who have been working, but I am now, you know, I’m back on doing ROGUE SQUADRON and we’ll see what happens. We need to develop, you know, get it to where we’re both super happy with it.”

JURASSIC WORLD 4---a source claims Scarlett Johansson (BLACK WIDOW) has been offered the leading role in the latest dinosaur sequel. Johansson has reportedly met with director Gareth Edwards and producer Frank Marshall. A rumor claims the sequel is titled JURASSIC CITY.

SLITHER---Sharon Stone claimed Paramount Pictures head Robert Evans suggested she have sex with her SLITHER co-star Billy Baldwin to improve Baldwin's performance, “[Evans is] running around his office in sunglasses explaining that he slept with Ava Gardner and I should sleep with Billy Baldwin, because [then] his performance would get better. If I could sleep with Billy, then we’d have chemistry on screen and save the movie. The real problem was me because I was so uptight, and not like a real actress who could just f*** him and get things back on track. The real problem was I was such a tight a**.”
She compared her SLITHER experience to BASIC INSTINCT, “I didn’t have to f*** Michael Douglas. Michael could come to work and know how to hit those marks, and do that line, and rehearse and show up. Now all of a sudden I’m in the ‘I have to f*** people’ business.”
Stone and Baldwin did not get along during filming, and Stone commented on her co-star, "You guys insisted on this actor when he couldn't get one whole scene out in the test. Now you think if I f*** him, he will become a fine actor? Nobody's that good in bed...I felt they could have just hired a co-star with talent, someone who could deliver a scene and remember his lines. It was my job to act and I said no."
Baldwin, the younger brother of Alec Baldwin, replied, “Not sure why Sharon Stone keep [sic] talking about me all these years later? Does she still have a crush on me or is she still hurt after all these years because I shunned her advances?...Did she say to her gal pal Janice Dickinson the day after I screen tested and ran into them on our MGM Grand flight back to New York… ‘I’m gonna make him fall so hard for me, it’s gonna make his head spin.’ ???”
Baldwin said he asked to choreograph their final sex scene so he would not have to kiss Stone and added, “I have so much dirt on her it would make her head spin but I’ve kept quiet...Wonder if I should write a book and tell the many, many disturbing, kinky and unprofessional tales about Sharon? That might be fun.”

MADAME WEBB---Sydney Sweeney, like Dakota Johnson, is distancing herself from the superhero bomb, “I was just hired as an actress in it, so I was just along for the ride for whatever was going to happen.”

FRUITCAKE---Jennifer Garner and Paul Walter Hauser will star in the movie based on a true story. The synopsis says, “The film will follow a seemingly upstanding middle-class couple who went on to embezzle millions from popular Texas-based business Collin Street Bakery. Hauser plays Sandy — an unassuming accountant who was funneling large sums of money into his accounts and credit card bills to support a lavish lifestyle, including expensive jewelry, private jet trips and a second home in New Mexico.”

STAR WARS---a Securities and Exchange Commission report says The Walt Disney Company has made almost $12 billion in profits since buying the rights for $4.05 billion from George Lucas in 2012.

WONDER WOMAN 3---director Patty Jenkins said her career with the WONDER WOMAN franchise is over, “Yeah, for the time being, or easily forever. Easily forever, yeah.”
She said Warner Bros. has no interest in WONDER WOMAN, “No, they’re not interested in doing any WONDER WOMAN for the time being. Listen, it’s not an easy task what’s going on with DC. James Gunn and Peter Safran have to follow their own heart into their own plans, so I don’t know the ‘why’ of what they’re planning on doing and why, and so I have sympathy for what a big job it is. They have to follow their heart and do what they’re interested in and do what they’ve got planned.”
Jenkins also commented on the failure of WONDER WOMAN 1984, which made $170 million worldwide on a $200 million budget compared to the original movie which earned $824 million worldwide on a $149 million budget, “I could feel the heat on my back and I thought, ‘Oh, they’re gonna be gunning for us soon, what goes up must go down. So I went in to making ‘Wonder Woman 84’ going, ‘Uh, they’re gonna kick the s— out of us in one way or another.’ And the sad thing was I think we would’ve made a kajillion, trillion dollars because we were the number 1 selling DVD for a year and a half, but if it hadn’t come out in the middle of the pandemic…”

YELLOWSTONE---Kelly Reilly commented on rumors of a Beth Dutton spinoff, “I just care about finishing [the main show] with as much care and as much passion and as much love as I can muster to put into it. That’s what I care about. I’m sort of prepping for that now [and] that’s my tunnel vision thing that I care about most. And what goes on beyond that? There are discussions, you know. Don’t believe everything you read. It’s just nonsense. But we’re gonna, you know, let’s wait and see. I don’t have an answer right now. But we’ll see.”

BLACK RABBIT---Jude Law and Jason Bateman will star in the Netflix miniseries whose synopsis says, “When the owner of a New York City hotspot (Law) allows his turbulent brother (Bateman) back in his life, he opens the door to escalating dangers that threaten to bring down everything he’s built.”

SNOWPIERCER---AMC will carry Season 4, the last season, after TNT cancelled the series.

BLACK MIRROR---Netflix announced Season 7 will premiere in 2025 with six episodes including a sequel to the "USS Callister" episode.

ETERNALS 2---Marvel Studios has reportedly cancelled plans for the sequel because the original had relatively poor ticket sales.

CAT IN THE HAT---Bill Hader will star in a Warner Bros. Animation movie based on the Dr. Seuss book.

GHOULIES---Luca Bercovici and Jefery Levy are developing a new movie trilogy based on their 1984 horror movie that led to three sequels.

THE BEAR---FX renewed the series for Season 4.

TRIVIA---in the comedy bounty hunter movie MIDNIGHT RUN (Robert De Niro, Charles Grodin), director Martin Brest has a cameo as the airline ticket agent with bounty hunter Marvin Dorfler (John Ashton).

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS---Joe Dante will direct a remake of the 1960 Roger Corman horror movie about a man-eating plant. Corman is returning as a co-producer. The remake will be written by Charles S. Haas (GREMLINS 2: THE NEW BATCH). The 1986 remake starred Rick Moranis and Steve Martin.

STRANGER THINGS---Finn Wolfhard commented on Season 5, “This last season is sort of a crossroads, and so we’re getting back into a lot of the dynamics of Season 1, which is really fun. There’s some ‘leader Mike’ moments, and it’s a very grand season, obviously. Every season has gotten bigger and bigger and bigger, and this season is huge, but it’s also kind of isolated as well.”

PETER WEIR---director Peter Weir (WITNESS, THE YEAR OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY, MASTER AND COMMANDER: THE FAR SIDE OF THE WORLD) announced he has retired, “I am retired. Why did I stop cinema? Because, quite simply, I have no more energy.”

FAMILY PLAN 2---director Simon Cellan Jones commented on a sequel to the Apple TV+ spy movie starring Mark Wahlberg, “I don’t know. We talk about a sequel to THE FAMILY PLAN, which I think would be really fun to get the old gang back together. And I’m doing that thing where I’m reading some scripts. I’m in that time where I’m pleased not to be working, and then in a month, I’m going to be panicking that I’m not working. You know how it goes. So what I’m doing is taking the peace while I can and trying to find my next project. I haven’t found it for sure yet.”

TRIVIA---Alfred Hitchcock's classic crop duster scene in NORTH BY NORTHWEST was originally supposed to be Cary Grant threatened by a tornado according to writer Ernest Lehman, "Our hero is standing all alone in a wide open space and there's nobody and nothing else in sight for 360 degrees around as far as the eye can see...and then along comes a tornado. No place to run!”
However, the tornado scene was logistically and financially too difficult to film, so it was replaced by the crop duster.

JAMES BOND---a British tabloid claims Aaron Taylor-Johnson has received a "formal offer" from Eon Productions to be the next James Bond. The BBC reportedly contacted Eon, and an insider replied there is "no truth in the rumours".

THE CROW---Alex Proyas, director of the original 1994 movie, commented on the remake starring Bill Skarsgard, “I really don’t get any joy from seeing negativity about any fellow filmmakers work. And I’m certain the cast and crew really had all good intentions, as we all do on any film. So it pains me to say any more on this topic, but I think the fan’s response speaks volumes. [THE CROW] is not just a movie. Brandon Lee died making it, and it was finished as a testament to his lost brilliance and tragic loss. It is his legacy. That’s how it should remain.”

ICK---Brandon Routh and Mena Suvari will star in this alien invasion movie whose synopsis says, “The film follows Hank, a high school science teacher who still pines for his childhood sweetheart. While discovering he may have a teenage daughter, Hank must grapple with a terrifying alien anomaly invading their small town.”

STAR TREK: LEGACY---CBS head George Cheeks commented on the status of the proposed STAR TREK: PICARD spinoff with Seven of Nine as commander of the starship Enterprise-G, “STAR TREK remains one of the most important franchises for Paramount Global, and Paramount+ specifically. There’s so much great opportunity with the franchise, and it’s really about the cadence and the timeline of it.
We don’t want to offer up all these amazing premium drama series at once. We want to time it out appropriately. Luckily, we have this incredible partner in Alex Kurtzman, and we all work together to sort of manage long-range planning across many years, to figure out what’s the right cadence for dropping new STAR TREK series.
So there’s a lot we’re focused on, but it should not suggest to you [a scaling back]. There is a tremendous amount of focus and prioritizing of the STAR TREK franchise.”

And the process of making this film definitely gave me that experience with Ridley.
At the story level, we first told him what I was planning to do, and then when he read it, I discussed the script with him. And later, when he watched the movie, I discussed my cut with him. So I consider each one of those moments and creative conversations with Ridley to be a highlight of my career and my life.”
Alvarez said he also talked to James Cameron, “James Cameron is also someone I’ve met through the years, and when he learned that I was doing it, we started chatting about it. So I also had that conversation with him at the script level. He’s now seen the movie and loved it. It’s also fascinating because [Cameron and Scott’s] notes and comments are completely different. (Laughs.) They wouldn’t repeat a note. Whatever Ridley said, Cameron said something different. They were all super smart comments, notes and thoughts on the film and the filmmaking, et cetera, but both of them have completely different approaches. So the fantastic part of being able to make this film is to have the chance to work with them.”

I was never able to meet with Seth."

Proft: "I’m not happy — and there’s a story with it. But I’m not pleased. It may come out and may be great — and good for that — but I sure as f**k should be writing it. I should have done this one."

Zucker: "About four years ago, Pat and I had one meeting over at Paramount with the then-head of production there. It was a woman who complained about some joke that Pat and I wrote about a police officer having to adjust her Kevlar vest or have a breast reduction or something. It’s just a stupid, mild joke, but that was too much for them. So I can’t even imagine how they’re limiting whoever does NAKED GUN 4 , if they’re that frightened. We’re not involved, and we’ve repurposed what was going to be NAKED GUN 4 — as we called it, COUNTERINTEILIJENCE , spelled with one L and a J — and we’re going to go out with that one."

Proft: "We’ve been totally blocked out of it. The unfortunate part of it is that Paramount owns it, so they can do what they f**king want. So that’s it."

Zucker: "Akiva did reach out and came to my house. I had a very nice meeting with him. He’s a great guy, and we just talked about comedy. At some point, maybe they were going to give me the script. They wanted me to be involved, but I never got a script, so nothing ever came of it."

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN---producer Jerry Bruckheimer said the next movie will reboot the franchise, "But we’re gonna reboot PiIRATES, so that is easier to put together because you don’t have to wait for certain actors.”

Storch said he and Curtis were on the Proteus and witnessed Japan's surrender on the battleship USS Missouri which ended World War II. STAR WARS---GAME OF THRONES co-creator DB Weiss commented on the shelved THE FIRST JEDI movie that he was writing along with David Benioff, “We got relatively far story-wise with the first one and like it had kind of a basic road map for the other two, and yeah, it was a shame. The truth is, Hollywood’s ratio or batting average on things conceived to things that actually finish has never been tremendously high, and there’s always gonna be ones that get away for various reasons; the ones that just aren’t meant to be. So it was sad that that was one of them for us. As time goes on, you just kind of need to let go of those things because if you don’t, you’ll drive yourself completely crazy.”

HEIST: OR HOW TO STEAL A PLANET---movie underway based on the comic book whose synopsis says,“Set on the planet Heist, home to billions of the worst criminals in the galaxy. The ruling pan-galactic government has no idea what to do with the planet, but a conman named Glane Breld and his band of thieves know exactly what to do with Heist: steal it. The story follows Breld on his madcap scheme to pull off the biggest heist in the history of the galaxy.” Justin Simien (HAUNTED MANSION) is the director.

THE BEAST IN ME---Claire Danes will star in the Netflix miniseries about an author, grieving over her son's death, discover her new neighbor is a real estate mogul who was suspected of killing his wife.

AFTER THE HUNT---Julia Roberts will star in the Luca Guadagnino movie about a college professor must face her dark past when an top student accuses one of her colleagues.

MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE---Kristen Stewart commented on appearing in a MCU movie, “I will likely never do a Marvel movie. That sounds like a f—ing nightmare, actually. If Greta Gerwig asked me to do a Marvel movie, then I would do it.”
She added, “The system would have to change. You’d have to put so much money and so much into one person, and it doesn’t happen. So therefore what ends up happening is this algorithimic, weird experience where you can’t feel personal at all about it.”

MASTER AND COMMANDER: THE FANGS OF FURY---remake of the 2003 Russell Crowe naval movie will have Admiral Joe Biden, commander of the aircraft carrier USS America, which pursues the nuclear-armed Russian warship Brezhnev. But the aircraft carrier's doctor tells Admiral Biden that most of the crew is in sick bay after being bitten by Biden's German Shepherd, Commander.

BOEING BOEING---Paramount Pictures remake underway of the 1965 movie that starred Tony Curtis and Jerry Lewis. The remake involves two Boeing engineers who spend so much time seducing women that their new Boeing 797 airliner has design flaws which cause the brake control stick to come out, the autopilot to deflate and the landing gear to collapse.

TAYLOR---the BARBIE team of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling will reunite for the movie based on the new Mattel doll line featuring superstar singer Taylor Swift and and all-star NFL football player Travis Kelce.

CITIZEN KANE: THE SNYDERCUT---Netflix announced the eight-part SynderCut of Orson Welles's classic CITIZEN KANE will premiere in 2025.

TRIVIA---according to inside sources, when Universal Studios had talks with David Leitch (JOHN WICK) to direct JURASSIC WORLD 4, the ghost of Michael Crichton did not want a dinosaur assassin movie, so it haunted Universal Studios Hollywood's Jurassic World: The Ride and Universal Orlando's Jurassic Park which scared thousands of guests and caused attendance to plummet. This led to Universal ending talks with Leitch and hiring Gareth Edwards. Crichton's ghost then disappeared which resulted in attendance returning to normal.

STAR WREK---Lucasfilm's STAR WARS and Paramount Pictures' STAR TREK have merged to create the Star Wrek Cinematic Universe (SWCU), the largest and most successful sci fi movie and television cinematic universe in history.
The SWCU's first movie is STAR WREK: RESURRECTION in which Grogu uses his powers to resurrect Capt. James T. Kirk so they can team up to put down an intergalactic rebellion of trillions of movie fans who threaten to destroy Hollywood if Lucasfilm and Paramount keep making lousy STAR WARS and STAR TREK movies.

The SWCU's first new tv series is STAR WREK: PEQUOD which is the sequel to STAR TREK IV: THE VOYAGE HOME. Halle Berry will play Dr. Gillian Taylor, on the starship USS Pequod, as she travels throughout the galaxy searching for the origin of the giant alien space probe that tried to communicate with Earth's humpback whales in 1986 and almost destroyed mankind. Dr. Taylor is in a race with Darth Kennedy and the Klingons, who seek the probe's origins to use its advanced technology to replace the Death Star as a super-weapon to destroy Earth.

INDIANA JONES AND THE BOUNTY OF BRIBES---the INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM team of Harrison Ford and Ke Huy Quan are returning for the latest sequel. Ford replaces Joe Biden, who was fired by Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy because he was too old for the Indiana Jones role and could not remember his lines.

DENEUVE---Christopher Nolan and Cillian Murphy reunite for a new biomovie with Murphy playing legendary French actress Catherine Deneuve.

HOME ALONE 3: LAWSUIT IN NEW YORK---Macaulay Culkin and Donald Trump return for the sequel in which adult Kevin McCalister and his family file a lawsuit against Donald Trump for fraudulent overcharging when Kevin stayed in Trump's Plaza Hotel in 1992.

THE SIXTH SENSE: NEW SIGHTINGS---Joe Biden will star in M. Night Shayamalan's sequel to his 1999 hit movie in which a psychic boy said, "I see dead people.'" Maurice Chevalier will play Francois Mitterrand, Curt Jurgens will play Helmut Kohl, Kam Fong will play Deng Xiaoping, Lynn Redgrave will play Margaret Thatcher and Joan Crawford will play Rep. Jackie Walorski.

SPIDER-MAN 4---Sam Raimi commented on rumors he will direct the next SPIDER-MAN movie, “Well, I haven’t heard about that yet. I did read that, but I’m not actually working on it yet. I mean, Marvel and Columbia are so successful with current SPIDER-MAN, and the track there, and I don’t know that they’re going to go back to me, and say, ‘Well, folks, we can also tell that story!’
I’m not sure, but I love all the new SPIDER-MAN movies. I loved SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME. It was really, super powerful seeing Tobey [Maguire] again in it.
I haven’t talked to Tobey about it, but maybe Marvel has, or Columbia Pictures. But, I just worked with Marvel on a movie called DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS. So, I’m on great terms with them. I’m sure I would hear about it if it was in the works. I think so. I don’t know.”

GODZILLA x KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE---the sequel had a $194 million global premiere which is the biggest premiere of 2024 and beat out DUNE: PART TWO's $178 million premiere.

STAR TREK: LEGACY---producer Alex Kurtzman denied rumors he is responsible for blocking STAR TREK: LEGACY, the proposed sequel to STAR TREK: PICARD, “If I had a magic button, a magic ‘greenlight button,’ for STAR TREK: LEGACY, and it was all on me, I’d push that button today. Right now, it’s beyond my paygrade.”

ROAD HOUSE---Amazon Prime announced the remake movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal had 50 million viewers which made it the streamer's largest global movie premiere.

DAY DRINKER---Johnny Depp and Sydney Sweeny will star in this supernatural thriller movie about a stranger and a female bartender, mourning the death of her boyfriend, who fall in love. Marc Webb (THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN) is the director.

THE ROSES---Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman will star in a remake of the 1989 movie THE WAR OF THE ROSES which starred Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. The remake synopsis says, “Life seems easy for picture-perfect couple Theo and Ivy: successful careers, great kids, an enviable sex life. But underneath the façade of the perfect family is a tinderbox of competition and resentments that’s ignited when Theo’s professional dreams come crashing down. Marital bliss erupts into a hilariously ferocious battle of wills in this dark comedy about love, power, and the lengths we’ll go to win.”

TRAP HOUSE---Dave Bautista, Sophia Lillis and Bobby Cannavale star in the action movie about an undercover DEA agent and his wife who pursue thieves stealing from a cartel and discover the thieves are really their own children using tactics they learned from their parents.

THE SEVEN DIALS OF MYSTERY---Netflix miniseries underway based on the Agatha Christie novel. Chris Chibnall (DOCTOR WHO) is the writer.

X-MEN '97---Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Studios' Streaming, Television and Animation, confirmed that Season 3 is underway.

THE WEIGHT OF DARKNESS---Angus Macfadyen, Corbin Bernsen and Doug Jones will star in the movie whose synopsis says, “Mark’s world is soon rocked by tragedy when his young daughter Emma goes missing at a social event for victims of PTSD. Despite the efforts of the Sheriff Eli Watson (Bernson) and his deputy, Emma remains missing. Mark’s estranged brother, Jim (Macfadyen), a church pastor, agrees to help an undocumented mother find her missing daughter, leading him to unravel a shadowy conspiracy that may lead to Emma’s whereabouts. The Besson brothers are soon forced to face the demons of their past, reconcile their differences and unite to find both children, uncovering a sinister underworld of unspeakable evil in the process.”

In the original VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA, Lorre played Commodore Lucius Emery, physicist on the submarine USOS Seaview, who assists the Seaview's designer, Admiral Harriman Nelson, in trying to save the Earth from a blazing Van Allen radiation belt.

So, we are in process on it and I can’t say whether it will actually ever get made or not, but I have great people I’m working with who are trying to make it happen, for sure.”

TRIVIA---Peter Hyams' 2010: THE YEAR WE MAKE CONTACT was the sequel to Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY. Both movies were based on Arthur C. Clarke novels. THE MATRIX 5---Drew Goddard (THE CABIN IN THE WOODS) is the writer/director/co-producer of the latest sequel. Lana Wachowski is the executive producer. No cast details such as Keanu Reeves or plot details were released.

THE FANTASTIC FOUR---Julia Garner (OZARK) will play “Shalla-Bal version of Silver Surfer” in the reboot movie that also stars Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby. Entertainment writer Justin Kroll posted, "Galactus expected to be main villain and that role is currently open with no one in talks or holding offer for role." LaKeith Stanfield posted that he thought he was going to play Silver Surfer, “Thought it was going to be me but ig.”
For 4-4 Day, Marvel Studios released a poster of Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch.

THE BRIDE---director Maggie Gyllenhaal posted a photo of Christian Bale as Frankenstein's monster in the remake of BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN.

SUPERGIRL: WOMAN OF TOMORROW---Craig Gillespie (CRUELLA, FRIGHT NIGHT-remake) is in talks to direct the DC Studios superhero movie starring Milly Alcock.
