My First Foam Building... (2 Viewers)

You could add these dogs to the scene as they are from that area.

Martyn...that is hilarious! Looks as if they are all at a cookout...all you need is the NCO grilling up some burgers and wearing a chef's apron, that says "Kiss the Cook."

Nick...that's just a small sample of what Martyn has in the "dining" category...he is the King of Trophy with the most unusual poses ever...

He does have a chef wearing and apron holding a christmas pudding. Probably as close as we will get. :D:D

Played golf all weekend...but got some good work done today...

yesterday was exhausted when I got in from golf...it's almost 100 degrees here...well over with the heat index...

but after today's round I had some energy to get some work done...

put in all the ceiling joists...
put in all the lentils over the windows...
put in a bench on the porch...
put in the bannisters and railing on the stairs...
put in the door and handle...
made a hatch for the roof cover...
sealed the water trough with wood putty...may paint it and pour Magic Water tonight...

real pleased with everything so far...no big problems...

still need to paint the inside pink foam black...
figure out a gate that opens and closes...gonna get some hinges tomorrow and try to fabricate something...
add some crumbling (decay) to the walls...
need to do a couple coats of dry brushing...

want to do some weathering under the windows with dry brushing and washing but really don't know how...any good painters got any tips on this...

PolarBear,

Do you know where those date palms in the diorama came from? If so, do you have a close up of them?

Thanks,

George

Thank you, Randy, Scott...Mitch...

I poured the Magic Water last night...

which means I can't do any work on this for 24 hours...til it dries...

I may start fabricating a door today...I need some hinges...

Do you mean the 28mm dio by Paul Darnell?

If so I don't know who made them--he might have since he is so talented.

All looks very good Michael.

For hinges (this is one way my friend makes hinges) how about thin plastic cut into a hinge shape and with en extra bit on the end to curl into a circle and glue for the hinge part. The an L shape piece of wire for the other part of the hinge. Does that make sense???

I am going to go through his photos as I am sure there are other tips on hinge making and see what I can dig up.
