Ray, I never knew flats were so interesting until you came on the Forum. Before that, my idea of flats was the plastic soldiers you ordered from the back of the comic book. You even got JB interested. I also enjoy you posting all those military prints. Keep up the good work.
Hi JB,
Just noticed I duplicated one page but, what you can't see from these pics is you can see where the actual color is applied and all the silvers and gold are metallic paints, really very pleasing.

JB,
Glad I could be of assistance to such a fine gentleman, the only thing I can say is there will be plenty more to come!

So I needed to find a better way to store my collection for easy viewing and I saw the ad Fernando Enterprises put on treefrog about boxes, very resonably priced so I ordered 14 in 2 sizes, there great boxes but what he fails to mention is the postage was about twice what the boxes cost $75+ with payment fees, just rediculous! I'm done with that company, great artist but I get nothing but trouble from the management

I'm with you on that postage thing Ray. Postage is now getting to be a killer - and especially so, when ordering from abroad. Another reason that I like flats - is that they are relatively lightweight ( when compared to 54mm, for example) - so postage becomes a bit more reasonable. I also try to time my purchases - according to where I happen to be. In the UK - I make visits wherever possible - to pick up orders - as several of my favourite suppliers are in The South of UK - and I make a day out of the journeys - with lunch out, along the way. Ordering from Europe is also "Customs Duty Free" - so can be done either to France or UK - without too much hassle. I recently bought some castings from the USA - and was stung by fees from BOTH postal authorities - AND Customs raised taxes on them too. So my "reasonably priced castings" - ended up expensive.
You live and learn. jb

Dealing with some 3rd world businesses can be tough, seems they have no idea how to deal with modern customer expectations, last straw was an incident where I email I'd like to send some flats for finishing as usual I send pics both printed and in emails, inevitably they submit progress pics (always too small to check detail) and I will respond with details to be corrected with corresponding pics. There response was they had plenty of work and couldn't do it for 6 weeks and I send too many pics and there artists are confused??? Mind you this last set was Buford's cav at Gettysburg not an overly complex uniform, yet I sent pics and only updated when the job was incorrect or detail missing.
Fine, no problem, I will continue with my artist in St. Petersburg he does great work with zero complaints.
