My Mountain Railway and Road Diorama Under Construction... (2 Viewers)

Looks like it could be a scene from Von Ryan's Express !

Fantastic ...... Now you need to tell us how do you get all that premium space for this dio and the other great one you did a couple of years ago with the road, bridge, cottage and hill.......{sm3}{sm3}{sm4}
Do you plan to create an intermediate set that will link both into a Mega diorama......?
Cheers

Love your unfolding scene, Fantastic work on the rock formations. Like the combination railroad and road. Can't wait for the finished product.

Thanks Steve and I do have this in mind for a dio although my engine is a big German one and not an Italian steam engine like in the movie...

It's called living in a big 3 bedroom house on my own Luiz (no wife or GF unfortunately). I'm still running out of room though and where I have it at the moment it's only temporary as it's on my dinner table! {eek3}^&grin

You know what, I was thinking of building the dio so it could link with the other one but no, it's not designed to do that although it could be possible to join the tracks and perhaps look ok. Having the space for such a mega dio would be an issue! I could in the future however build another dio section so it could join to this one.

Thanks Steve.

Well, I'm now stateside (got into San Fran this morning) and will be heading off to the big C (Chicago) tomorrow morning. Hope to catch up with some forum members while I'm at the CTSS.

Hi all

I have done some more work on my diorama and I have finished the bridges, track work and road. There's still much to be done including weathering the mountain/rocks etc, continuation of laying grass, flowers and bushes, planting trees, water in the river, signs and road marker posts on the mountain part of the road and trying to hide the gap as best as possible between the two dio sections.

I have included in the pic's a TGM kubelwagen, Figarti passenger railcar and K&C figures/motorcycle dispatch rider.

Wow, sensational Tom. Your skills and patience for detail is truly amazing. It's taking awhile, but a project like this cannot be rushed if you want the best outcome. The next stage will bring it alive. Robin.
