My Spitfire just landed! (1 Viewer)

I would like to see a Spitfire MK14 tipping a V1 flying bomb :D

Hurricane tank buster would be another excellent aircraft

Great photos, and I especially like the way it looks with the Hurricane. Mine should be here any day, and these great shots just get the juices flowing. I really agree a control tower would be a great addition in the near future. It would really bring it all together!

Hi,

Got my Spitfire as well today, absolutely love it. Jeff you have to get one of these. Totally agree on the control tower but would also like to see a 1 PRU Spitfire.

Rob, I don't have any warbirds yet, but just reading your comments here make me feel like I MUST HAVE THIS VERY ONE!:D Very inspirational!! Thank you for the pics (she's such a beaut she's on fire!!!) and for the inspiring words. I would love to see the shadow of that magnificent fighting angel shrouding my Luftwaffe field Div. figures in darkness. ;) Congratulations on one heck of a fine acquisition. Joe

Wow! She's superb, at last we have the most famous fighter in the world from K&C, what an excellent model, and in this year of the 70th Anniversary of the War changing Battle of Britain Victory...for once I'm speechless!:. The Hurricane is very nice, the FW190 Superb and the ME109 looks excellent, but here we have the big one, the one that struck fear into the Luftwaffe over Britain, the one that even Galland wanted a Squadron of, and the one word the the enemy pilots feared hearing most, 'SPITFIRE'!!!

A huge thank you Andy and K&C, I do believe the RAF is my favourite range!

Thank you Joe, very kind of you mate. Theres just something about the Spitfire that represents defiance, excellence and Victory that tugs at the old heart strings:). You know you have to have one of these my friend, resistance is futile!:D;).

I like the darkness reference, this hobby brings out the poetic side now and again!

All the best

Saw this model up close, really very nice, comes up ahead of the FW. Would love to get one, but too heavy for me to carry and "swoosh" around the room when nobody's watching.. :D Mentioned before Andy, retractable undercarriage and stand to show off "in flight" (another great way to show it off), but guessing it's too heavy for a stand.. Anyway would still have to find space amongst all the other K&C..!

IMO I hope the under carriages stay firmly in the landing position not really interested in aircraft in flight per se. You have only one option when carriage up when down, you can field many dio scenes and, I think thats why Andy does them this way

Yes, given one option only, gear down for dios. What I was trying to suggest however was the option of gear up or gear down, but has been explained to me that that would be rather complex an undertaking and I daresay increase the overall cost..

Major Major....

Get you now. Yes it would probably increase cost and, the chances of breaking can you imagine it collapsing snapping the props, nightmare!!!!

For me I like the fact the undercarriage is down for dio scenes,as it's an airfield scene I am thinking about. However having said that I wouldn't mind a ' wheels up ' version flying in my office, she's is such a sleek looking aircraft that it would look good chasing a 109. But this is such a well made model that the drawing pins and cotton we used to hang airfix planes wouldn't do the job!! . The thought of the Spit falling from the ceiling doesn't bare thinking about!

Rob

Does anybody own both Corgi and K & C Spitfires ?
I would like to know if this Spifire (K&C) fits on the
Corgi stand?

Nice collection Warbuff! You must be depicting an Eagle Sqdn. ;)

Poetic indeed, Rob! My resistance is wearing thin.....defenses faltering.....wheels of confusion begin to turn.....vertigo setting in....I can only fight myself for so long before I become completely vulnerable to myself!:p:) Wait, is that a Spitfire on the horizon? Wait until she gets a little closer:D.
Have fun with your wonderful new additions Rob! What a fantastic hobby!

Excellent scene, very nice indeed. They look good together don't they. I too am thinking of having an American visitor to my airfield when built, the P51 is a really nice model.

Now if we could just persuade Andy to make a Bolton Paul Defiant we'd have a trio of frontline fighters, although of course the Defiant suffered heavy loses later in the Battle, but not before many a Luftwaffe pilot had paid the price for mistaking it for a Hurricane from behind. So a Black night fighter version (in which it did well during the winter of 40-41, shooting down many German planes by attacking from the side or slightly in front) would also be welcome:cool:
