Hi all

Recently I was in the US on holidays and my itinerary included attending the Chicago 2018 Toy Soldier Show, catching up with a bunch of my US mates and seeing some more of the good old USA. I took a ton of photos which I'm still going through so I thought I would start posting some of them from the starting point of my trip which was Chicago. I have already posted some pic's of the Chicago show which are in the Chicago Toy Soldier Show 2018 thread. The first lot of pic's below were taken from the Willis Tower (formally the Sears Tower) observation deck.

The next lot of pic's are when me and Duke (WW2 Buff on the forum) visited the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago which houses an actual UBoat! (U-505) This U-Boat was captured by the US Navy off the coast of South America in June 1944.

Tom,

thanks for showing us all those pictures, looks like a great museum to visit.

I think that the diving STUKA has really taken you attention??? Interesting to see one without the spats over the wheels?

Looks like you had a great time, so where to next year???

John

Thanks Chris and yeah, I crammed in a lot on this trip.

Great pics Tom, we need a U-boat exhibit like that in Australia.

Thanks Matt, we should offer the Chicago museum a trade, the Mephisto for the U-Boat, what do you reckon??? ^&grin

No worries mate, you'll have to get over there, then there will be two weird looking blokes cruising around the joint!!! You might get kicked out of the US though trying to cut bits off the U-Boat and Stuka....^&grin

Thanks Tom for the pictures of Chicago. When I was a kid our neighbor took us to watch them bring in the U505 from lake Michigan. Thanks for the memories. John
