I don't have a horse in this contest, but I really dislike Miami for some reason. Maybe because of the "dream team" they put together or the circus James organized when he chose Miami over the Cavs. The prima donnas in the NBA are a tiresome lot.

exactly the same reason I wish Miami no success in the future...

This sounds about right. -- Al

Do you mean the televised event "The Decision" when James, Wade and Bosh came out with their uniforms on through a smoke screen in front of roaring bandwagon Heat fans?

What's wrong with that; most teams have a press conference and have the new players smile for the camera and hold up a jersey with the players name on the back is all.

Or do you mean when James predicted eight or nine championships?

What's so bad about that?................:rolleyes2:

Tell you what; win one first why don't you.

If the Heat are going to run a 6 man rotation, they are toast, they won't be able to stay with the Thunder.

The Heat have managed to do the impossible; not only do most NBA fans hate them, but fans of other sports do as well, that's quite a feat.

Good effort, good Job Miami...............

One back for the Heat, will this one go to seven? Pretty tight stuff...

They brought two players in to help win a championship. What is wrong with that? Every team wishes they could do that.

The reason people hate Miami or Lebron is because of that ridiculous announcement. However, we all knew he wasn't going to stay with the Cavs. Prior to that I don't think people had a major issue with him. The guy's a terrific talent, probably the best player in the NBA today.

OKC is a talented team but I find that the collegetown atmosphere that seems to pervade their games wears a little thin.

Miami's shooting was "ultra red hot" in the first half...everything fell....Shane Battier is not gonna score 17 points again...as hot as the Heat's shooting was in the first half...which was lights out...they still couldn't hold on...Miami can't rely on that percentage of shooting for an entire game...much less a series...it's not realistic...QUOTE]

Well...I obviously don't know what I'm talking about...:redface2:...Shane Battier did score 17 points...AGAIN!!!

This game really surprised me...after their slow start in Game 1...I figured this would be addressed and corrected...boy was I wrong...it was 18-2 at one point in the first quarter...

OKC dug a hole so deep they couldn't crawl out...I still like OKC to steal one back in Miami...but they have lost home court...looking forward to tonight's game...should be a doozie!

Well, the Heat didn't keep shooting that well but somehow managed to ugly game the match away from OKC (as only champions do?^&grin...). 2-1 up, but I bet this one, with such close games, will go to seven...:wink2:

Well short of an epic gag, looks like the Heat and Lebron will win a championship.

It amazes me that the refs allow James to play basketball like a football linebacker, he holds, grabs, throws elbows, leads with his forearm on almost every drive to the basket and he rarely gets called for fouls.

Incredible.

I think OKC will take one of the three games in Miami. That means they go back home for the final two games down 2-3. Then it will get interesting to see if James can win it on the road. He has a history of choking in important games particularly if they are close. The Thunder are going to give them all they can handle at home. I think this goes 7. The refs give the breaks to the home team. It could come down to that when Miami doesn't get the calls.

Well I guess after all it was just too much HEAT for the Thunder. After some close matches, yesterday the deluge (especially a trey deluge ...^&grin). I guess that after last year's finals loss LeBron and the others just wanted this so much that it had to go their way. Congrats on both teams, and especially on the Heat and LeBron, an outstanding player who answered his critics on the court BIG TIME!
Now on for the Olympics and hoping it won't be too hard to wait for the new NBA season (no lockout stuff please...).

Paulo

yes...congrats to the Heat...they were the better team...

Oh, I forgot, congrats Mike Miller on your wonderful performance for the Heat in this final game 5. Seven treys out of eight, you were on fire!^&grin.

hehehe...yea right...if it were me...it would be 0-8...and sitting on the bench...^&grin

It was great to see LeBron ecstatic and excited like a kid to win the title. I don't know if it was happiness or relief but as much as you may not like him you couldn't but help smile at his joy.

Any more pithy contributions? How are the Phillies working out these days :rolleyes2:

????? ^&confuse^&confuse

Not sure I follow. My wife subscribes to People magazine and there was a really nice article on the young man in the one back issue that was lying on the coffee table... I seem to recall there are some Knicks fans on here and was inquiring how it went. What does "pithy" even mean???
I don't follow the NBA, my sports are UFC and NFL and try rooting for the Phils when I can.

The phillies are doing mediocre at best?? ^&confuse^&confuse

Chris, Lin just signed with the Houston ball club for $25 million. Knicks declined to match the offer, so Linsanity has moved to Texas. -- Al

Not to worry Brad. I think Lin was a flash in the pan. He wasn't going to make the difference between the Knicks being a competitor or not. Think of it as saving $25 million for some other players instead of getting pressured into overpaying a guy who hasn't proven himself.
