N.f.l. 2010 season (2 Viewers)

Assuming (big leap) the Skins do not continue to flirt with inconsistency, I would like the Cowboys and Eagles to win.;)

I think the Giants are the class of the NFC right now...with G Bay and Philly as runner ups...

Philly with Vick is frightening at times...

young Peyton can look so impressive...like a couple of weeks ago with the two quick picks and then trailing by 10 to the Cowboys...he patiently came back and routed them...(I know Romo was out half way through the game...but he exposed the secondary horribly)...on the other hand...he can look so bad with a little pressure...

but if you look at their schedule...they really have not beaten anybody and even lost their two "tough games" miserably to Indy 38-14 and Tenn (at home) 29-10...

Philly is a major dark horse and G Bay could live up to their potential...Vick is just wicked scary when he's accurate...and almost scarier when pushed out of the pocket...

but I think this is a year for the AFC...

I see so many good teams in the AFC...Jets, Pat, Ravens, Steelers, Titans and Colts...

I like Pittsburg...

Pittsburg versus Philly or G Bay...

I still like Pittsburg...but could see a "Cinderella story" for Vick...

I didn't even mention San Diego and they have a very weak schedule for the second half of the season...

My Ravens have a tough one tonite in Atlanta, 17-1 under Ryan there, hopefully my boys bring there A game on both sides of the ball and pull out a win...Sammy

Underachieving defense almost happened to me on Monday night, except Steelers had the game well in hand.

Ravens, nice comeback, but the D let them down. Defenses win championships and right now, the Ravens didn't get it done tonight.

I am not real happy with the Steelers either. At the rate both teams are playing December 5th may only matter to either team. We may both make the playoffs, but we both are not playing good enough to win anything.

And before you get upset about the push off, it happens on every play, Mason loves to do it too. The Ravens should never be in that position to begin with the type of D they are supposed to have.

Again, point is, Ravens/Steelers may not mean a whole lot at this rate.

I still think the Ravens/Steelers will have one or the other in the AFC Championship game, at this point if my Ravens can't find out how to play defense with a lead it won't be us, if you had told me the Raven offense would be averaging 24 pts. a game and we would be losing games in the 4th quarter I tihught you were crazy, but 6-3 not bad, I never thought we would be 14-2...off to Carolina next...Sammy

I also agree that the Ravens and Steelers, along with the Titans, Jets and Patriots, are the class of the AFC, but the Ravens defense was exposed last night - it cannot get pressure on the quarterback without blitzing (the Jets defense has a similar problem) and (unlike the Jets) it cannot cover for a full 5 seconds. Ryan ate them alive all game, and, frankly, it two of his receivers hadn't dropped easy catches, the Ravens offense would never have gotten the ball back to score the third touchdown. They couldn't stop Atlanta on third down all game.

Either Altanta is really one of the two or three best teams in football, or the Ravens defense is not all its cracked up to be. And lets not presume the Ravens defese is the problem: Atlanta may be one of the 2-3 best teams in the NFL, particularly at home. If they get home field advantage, the way they played last night, they could be super bowl bound. I think Atlanta and the Giants stand at the head of the NFC class, with the Eagles, Packers and Saints also possible NFC Champions.

It would be interesting to see an NFC Championship with the Giants (the ultimate road warriors in the playoffs) in Atlanta (presently 18-1 at home with Ryan at QB). Something would have to give.

Baltimore's loss last night was a big disappointment.:( I had worried about their defense and it was badly abused last night. As has been said, third down on defense killed the Ravens all night. And then to give up that TD drive in the closing minute, just plain ugly. They had better get those problems addressed or the Ravens won't be doing much in the way of post season celebrating. -- Al

The Vikings soap opera just won't end. We finally get a win and we have players ripping the coach.

I guess we'd fallen off of page 1 for a few minutes...

I wouldn't sweat it too much Al- I think everyone really under appreciates how good Atlanta is these days. One bad read by Matt Ryan and the Steelers steal the opening day win against them. I think Atlanta is playing as good as anyone right now.

That being said, the Ravens have given up 4 TD drives of 90+ yards this season- Buffalo did it against them even. Plus, they had the ball for like 9 minutes in the first half. Either the O needs to get more productive from the onset of the games or opponents will wear them down on defense.

Breaking News...

Wade Phillips is fired...Jason Garrett is the new head coach...

he's no prize either...in my opinion...

he's been calling the offense for several years now...

I want to take back everything I said about Garrett...

if he can get them motivated enough to beat the Giants...in New York...with Kitna as his quarterback...Romo, Newman and Jenkins out...I recant all the negative comments I made about him...:)

Thank you Dallas.;) Now we will see if we can do our part.

This was exactly what I was afraid of. The Giants played as poorly as they have played in recent memory, and handed the game to the Cowboys. How does a quality coaching staff not have a team ready to play against a team like the cowboys when you know their new coach will have them playing hard for his job?

Now they have to face the Eagles next week, and if they lose that game, they are right back to being at best a wild card team, having handed the division to the Eagles on a silver platter.

Guess you would like the Skins to beat the Eagles....again.;):D

The NFL's season of insanity continues. I think, first off, that underestimating the Patriots is going to be fatal. They abused the Steelers last night and appear as dangerous and good as ever. The Giants got embarrassed in a game no one thought the Cowboys would win. Oakland leads the division! I wonder if the Chargers are going to wake up. Seattle leads the NFC West. Really? Biggest surprise to me at this point is the Falcons. They are a good football team. All in all, everybody looks vulnerable one way or another. Big game tonight with big implications. Will find out if the Skins can hang in with a playoff chance. Giants loss really threw NFC East into a cocked hat. For that matter, the whole NFL is a toss up as no one has seperated themselves from the pack, yet. It is going to be a good 2nd half to the season. -- Al

Al, the Vikes are definitely working to seperate themselves from the pack...in reverse!

Now that the Cowboys have won we can start playing for draft position!

The Vikes should have moved on from Farve this summer, he didn't want to play, didn't want to practice and so forth, when the team has to send players/coaches to his house to beg him to play something isn't right, I have always been a fan of Farves but the guy needs to retire and stay retired and be glad he has a Superbowl ring, one of the greatest qbs ever, but he is only hurting himself and the Vikes at this moment...Sammy

I think what happened to the Giants is due, in part, to what happens when you change a manager/coach in the middle of the season. The players play better for a little while, not to mention that the Cowboys have too much talent too play this atrociously for the whole season. It was the Giants' bad luck that Phillips was fired right before they were to play the Giants.

But enough of the bad news, how about those Jets. You can't say same old Jets anymore. Those Jets probably would have lost yesterday's game at some point. Sanchez is really starting to develop as a good quarterback (I hate the word great; it is so overused). The defense is not nearly as good as last year but this year the offense picks them up. The way the overtime period was developing, I would have been happy to settle for the tie. It's entirely conceivable that home field advantage in the AFC will be decided when Jets play Pats in a few weeks time.

Peter, be careful what you wish for. The Skins have won a couple of those draft position races. Heath Shuler was one of our rewards. -- Al

Week 13 will decide alot of things in the AFC, jets play pats, Ravens play Steelers, it will be a unlucky week 13 for a few teams...Sammy
