This year has been interesting so far to say the least. This is why I love football and it is and always will be my number one sport.
Raiders/Falcons in the Super Bowl? Sure, why not, any given Sunday as the saying goes.
Have to fully admit I am a realist and not a homer, I felt the Patriots this year with their brutal schedule would be 6-10. After they got waxed by the Browns last week, I thought for sure they'd get demolished last night but man, they dropped the hammer on the Steelers last night, they beat them up and down the field all night long.
Our safties Chung and Merriweather hit like trucks, McCourtey is the real deal, a rising star, they have not one, not two, but THREE rookie linebackers starting, their fourth starter is a second year guy, two very good rookie tight ends and I agree with Chris, Brady is just spectacular. One of the all time greats, what a pleasure it's been to watch this guy for ten years, it will be a sad day in Boston when he hangs them up.
They still have a tough schedule, Miami, Chicago, Green Bay, the Colts, the Lions on Thanksgiving (a short week, never an easy game IMO).
Oh and lets not forget the Jets, the team everyone had picked as sure fire Super Bowl winners. Listen, in football you make your own breaks and a win is a win, but how this team is 7-2 is beyond me, 4-4-1 is more like it, they had zero business winning that game yesterday, same deal with the Denver game (4th and 6, Sanchez heaves up a prayer, pass interference, first and goal on the 4; can we stop with the 45 yard passes that get called for interference, college has it right, 15 yard penalty, automatic first down) and especially the Lions game, the cheap shot their kicker, blow out his knee, the back up misses the PAT, and the Jets win.
Unreal.
We'll see what happens vs the Jets in Foxboro; if the Patriots beat the Colts and the Jets, they are head and shoulders the best team in the AFC, which means they'll lose to Buffalo and blow home field advantage in the process...
