You are not likely to get much sympathy from a dedicated Skins fan Chris but I do agree with your QB assessment. Dallas has had some over the best the years and he has been great on occasion but not consistently like the rest on your list.I've been a Dallas fan for years and remember the 1-15 seasons and the 3-13 ones as well- at no point did they just utterly surrender like they did last night- I cannot for the life of me believe that Romo inspires them that much- he just doesn't strike me as a leader type- not like Staubach, Aikman, Meredith, or White- he's just off somehow.

Boy, the Skins really stunk this one up. Couldn't do anything with the ball and couldn't stop Detroit when it mattered. U-G-L-Y. What was McNabb thinking on that interception when he threw into triple coverage? It cost them the game. Then the Skins just quit. Bad game. -- AlI see that the powers that be in Vegas have the Lions as 2.5 point favorites over the visiting Skins. This is about the home field point spread in any given contest so I guess the oddsmakers see the Lions and Skins as roughly equal. Lions are 1-5 and Skins are 4-3. How do they figure? I know the Skins haven't been real impressive but they won 4 times. I gotta believe they will take the Lions. Realistic thought tells me that they will do what they always seem to do against "weaker" teams, ie., lose. The Skins need this win because their schedule gets pretty tough after next weeks bye. Go Skins! -- Al
Yes, that was a sad game. It was so bad, I think they are now just about guaranteed not to make the playoffs again. Pretty soon I may resort to rooting for higher draft picks but since they have traded so many away even that may be scant consolation.Boy, the Skins really stunk this one up. To me, the two most interesting matchups this weekend are Steelers at Saints and Packers at Jets.
I think that the Steelers and Jets, along with George's surprising Patriots and the Titans are the class of the AFC, which appears to be the far stronger conference this season.
The Packers (who are weakened by a rash of defensive injuries) and the Saints (who have underachieved so far) were expected to be the class of the NFC, although these teams so far have been surplanted by the Falcons and the Giants.
Accordingly, these matchups are fairly good yardsticks for the comparative quality of the two conferences. I fully expect the Steelers and the Jets to win handily, as the AFC looks way better to me, but if the Saints or Packers can pull off upsets, then the conferences might be more closely matched than I believe.
Ah, the soap opera that is the Vikings. We may not ever win, but we sure know how to make headlines.
Brilliant move to trade a 3rd round pick for a guy you cut three games later. Just brilliant.

Looks like the class of the A.F.C. didn't have a good weekend...Sammy

After the benching of McNabb on Sunday, with the game still on the line, I wonder if Shanahan is playing with a full deck. Did he really think Grossman gave the Skins a better shot than McNabb? No way. There is something else going on here. Stay tuned for the next episode of "Snyder's Redskin Follies". It ought to be a good one. -- AlWe're making the Mickey Mouse club look good by comparison!
Yes that was a very odd decision. Of course McNabb has not been playing all that well but the pass and run blocking has been aweful. Given that, I am not sure what quarterback would have been up to the task but no doubt it wasn't Rex.After the benching of McNabb on Sunday, with the game still on the line, I wonder if Shanahan is playing with a full deck. I must concede it would very very challenging to upstage the aura of absurdity surrounding the Vikings this year. However, it seems the Skins are not inclined to give up without a fight. To follow up the totally odd benching of McNabb last Sunday, the Skins just just let former Raider No 1 draft choice and nut case JaMarcus Russel work out for them. Now if there is a worse choice than Russel for a starting QB, I can't think of one. Even having him on the team is a bit frightening. Now Grossman is hardly the best second string QB in the league but compared to Russel he is a hall of fame prospect. The thought that they are considering him gives me shudders and invokes memories of Dion Sanders and Jeff George but at least they actually had successful careers before they came. We're making the Mickey Mouse club look good by comparison!
Yes I think they do. Frankly I wasn't looking forward to it since Favre has always been so dangerous, even when he is playing poorly. The way it is shaping up it could indeed be a coach bowl with the 3rd string QBs fighting it out. Your guys need to only use your 3rd string running back to make it even though; the lines may be comparably bad.How dare the Redskins try to upstage our sideshow!!
Later this month they won't actually play each other...Childress will be on Oprah and Shanahan will be on Dr. Phil. The show with the highest ratings wins!
Bring it on!
Funny (ha-ha) you should ask Bill. When I heard the Russell story yesterday (what is this curious connection we have with the Raiders?), I put one cartridge in the cylinder, spun it, and snapped it shut. It lays on the table before me awaiting further developments. This year in, year out circus is starting to get on my nerves. -- AlI must concede it would very very challenging to upstage the aura of absurdity surrounding the Vikings this year. Al what do you think of this?
