N.f.l. 2010 season (2 Viewers)

Hey Tom, you didn't hear me crying, maybe you should re-read my statement, I said it like it was, we had this game and we blew it simple as that, I did point out that it will be nice to have some games at home, as far as your Steelers go, a 3rd string rookie qb had it close until the 3rd quarter, so don't run your mouth to much, it always makes me laugh when you talk about rubbing it into someone face at work or where you live about how my Ravens lost and our Steelers won, sounds like something a Steeler fan would do, but if your qb can stay out of college dorms or bars for a few months can't wait to see you all in Baltimore in a month or so, that way when we beat you down I won't have to hear any "we didn't have our starting qb" just like we didn't have E. Reed, fair is fair, thst game can't get here fast enough, the AFC North title will be ours this year brother, and you can quote me on that...Sammy

When the Ravens earn the AFC North, I will be the first to congratulate them. You really need to lighten up, my post was a friendly poke, notice the smileys. That said, let me explain since I live here in Baltimore the sense of misguided entitlement that occurs. If you talk to hometown fans here the last 3 seasons, it was a foregone conclusion they were winning the SB. Guess what, didn't happen. Yesterday, they flat out blew a game they had won. Those games hurt and bite you later, as any Steeler fan can attest too. As for our game, I am quite happy the way we finished the game offensively. The game was close due to rust on Ben. Our defense took care of business. I am glad you cant wait for the game in Baltimore, I guarantee the Steelers are remembering losing and will flat out bring it.

By the way, I think Ben is an idiot, but enough of that, should we remind every Baltimore fan that Ray Lewis witnessed a murder and then lied (perjury). Have you looked at Terrell Suggs restraining/protective order list lately?????? Be careful casting police blotters, the Ravens have a heck of a lot longer list in that department.

The Giants are giving me cause for hope. If they can knock off the Cowboys next week they go to their bye with a 5-2 record. As I expected an 8-8 season, they are doing way better than I expected, and may actually make the playoffs.

But if they lose to the Cowboys and fall to 4-3, my 8-8 expectations sound a lot more realistic.

Tom,

When we beat you all a couple weeks ago I barley mentioned it, except it was a hell of a game and glad we won, I'm not gonna get into a pissing contest with you about whose team has less character flaws, but I will say this, Ray Lewis sure as hell learned from his mistakes and is now a class act in and out of the N.F.L. you live in Maryland so I'm sure you here about the charities for schools/ low income areas he has been involved in in helping those areas financially, as well as the annual turkey drive every Thanksgiving and so forth, so please get off that "he's a murderer kick" as far as your idiot qb, between crashing bikes and sex scandles the Sports Illustrated article this past year about his arrogance and unfriendly attitude off the field came as no surprise, the one that killed me was him stiffing the bill at certain restaraunts, and was even banned at one for rude behavior, I can live with the fact I'll always pull for anyone that beats or plays the Steelers but I respect the organation and the ownership as well as the coaching staff, but if Ray Lewis had constantly pulled the stuff your boy has, I would want him off my team in a N.Y. minute...see ya in Baltimore Dec 5...Sammy

What Roethlisberger may have done pales in insignificance compared with what Lewis did, who should have gotten jail time.

On the subject of atheletes out of control, it is my belief that a zero tolerance policy by ALL pro sports leagues should be followed. These men are getting paid huge bucks and if they can't control themselves, for whatever reason, they should be fired and blackballed. Let them get a real job (after serving their time) and see how easy it is to live on the 50 or 60 grand most of their fans live on. I have no compassion for moron atheletes who think they are above civilized behavior and laws just because they can throw a football, hit a baseball, dribble or skate better than you or me. The truth is, there is always someone else who can do those things, so act like a civilized human being or go earn a living somewhere else. End of rant. -- Al

Sammy,

I can tell you can't discuss this calmly. Ben is a jerk, no argument there, he is arrogant, rude and needs to really grow up. One point, he was never charged, and I don't say that in defense, its just a point. As for charities, Ben does that, they all do it for INCOME TAX purpose for one and for charity too, but they all do that. Ray Lewis (I actually admire his play), he committed a crime, you or I would have done jail time for it. Fortunately for him, he wised up at the zero hour and saved his rear end in the nick of time. But please don't make it sound like he is Mr. Innocent, he screwed up royally there and his mentality about it was shameful. It took him a year to tell the truth.

Lancer makes a great point. Zero tolerance is where we should be, and I believe Ben received that treatment in the fact he was SUSPENDED without any charges laid at his feet, in the end, he has a deservedly poor image and looks like an absolute jerk. IF the Ray Lewis issue happens today, I think you see him suspended for a good long time, he was charged and technically convicted.

Furthermore, my opinion is the Steelers would have dumped Ben if it wasnt for Santonio Holmes failing the drug test for the umpteenth time and took the heat off of him.

Again, no complaints here on the Steelers and Dec 5 should prove to be another great game. Both teams have a hard road prior to that, there are some teams playing tough out there. I have always found that routing for my own team is a lot more successful than rooting against another.

One thought, as I watched Manning, I still have the impression that he can do what he wants with a football, whenever he feels like it. He is better than every other QB in the game. He is not perfect but he comes close. Brady and Breese are close but I would take Peyton over all, assuming Unitas isn't available. -- Al

Couldn't agree more, the guy is not human, he is a cyborg, a machine, just keeps throwing TD's, getting first downs, marching up and down the field.

If the Colts had a good defense in 2003-2005, he'd have won two more Super Bowls at least.

He is hands down the best QB in football now, perhaps in the top three all time, I tip my cap to him.

Too bad, tough loss last night; if the Redskin corners and safeties did not have stone hands, there were two for sure, three maybe INT's in that game early on, you can't give Manning extra chances, he'll kill you............

Again Tom I have no hard feelings toward you, it will always be a heated discussion when it comes to the Ravens/Steelers that is just a fact.
Do not think I condone R.Lewis past in the trial thing, I was just as mad as anyone he allowed himself to be put in that postion, but the man learned from it and grew up and realized how close all the N.F.L. stuff can be taken away, now he one of the most respected players in the league, even if you don't like him, you must admire the way he changed alot of things in his life, I have him on my facebook page and he is always doing things in the community, or talks at a local church, or speeches to other players in the N.F.L. commercials and so forth, he has more then made up for his wrongs in his early days.
with that being said, I totally disagree with you about who I'm rooting for, every Sunday I watch my team with much hope of a win but in the same breath I watch the score board to see if Cinncy/Pitt/Cleve are losing or lost, as well as the other AFC leaders, more losses on them and wins for me is a great thing!! I would love to have one or two playoff games in Baltimore for a change, and with the looks our schedule over the next 10 weeks I think we have a great chance at it, will be a great game in Dec against the Steelers always is...Sammy

It's interesting that the NFL is threatening to crack down on "brutal hits" to protect players this week. At the same time, the owners continue to push to extend the season to 18 games which would put all players at much greater risk of injury. No one even discusses artificial turf which has probably ended more careers than all the big hits/cheap shots and even Deacon Jones head slaps in the entire history of the game.

It's the next step to NFFL: National Flag Football League, aka. The Wussification of America's Game. -- Al

Dallas is putting up what could be the most disastrous football season in the history of the NFL- they loose another game, Phillips better enlist the Secret Service to keep himself safe- he'll be lucky if he gets out of Big D with only loosing his job!!

Manning is indeed a phenomenon; it is not only his vision, arm and touch with the pass but his total dominance on the field when he is in the grove, which is almost always. I wonder if he could pass the Voight-Kampff Replicant's test.:D

The Skins actually played pretty well in that game and yes the corners have stone hands. It could have gone either way, so long as Manning didn't have the ball at the end. Even with the loss, it is a rare pleasure to see the Skins playing at a level to stay in contention with the Colts at this point. They made several ugly mistakes but if someone had told me the team from last year could do this I would have dissolved in laughter/tears.;)

Actually I have it on good authority that they do. The bigger question is whether Peyton does or Deckard?;):D

I am afraid I really love that movie; I have all five cuts in Blu-ray.

Its one of my favorites as well. For my money, Harrison Ford's best role.:cool:

Great minds. My absolute favorite Sci-Fi movie and not a bad book, either. Like all the versions I've seen so far (3). Just a wonderful movie. -- Al
