N.f.l. 2010 season (1 Viewer)

Whatever Tom. So who is bashing, I am merely passing on some information about the legend.;)

Bill,
I don't consider unchecked poorly written yellow journalism information and I am sure you don't either. Seriously folks, regardless of what you think about a team or individual, this gets a little ridiculous.

He wins his 3rd Superbowl this weekend, you and a lot of others are going to be hard pressed to come up with an excuse about him not being a great quarterback. Whether it happens this year or in the future, the guy is probably going to win 3. The Steelers are that type of organization, a first class one.

A good friend on the forum sent me these stats: 6 Super Bowl titles, 15 AFCCG's, SEVEN losing seasons in 40 years. That is not luck, that is committment to doing it right. I am in no way indicating that other teams are not good, etc., I am just talking about the Steelers.

And Bill, let's be honest, Snyder gets skewered unmercifully by the press and a lot of it is twisted to make headlines. Believe half of what you hear and none of what you read in the press, it is a pretty good motto.

And if its 12 deg for the game like it is here in D now ,all the poor souls paying to watch jerry jones TVs standing in the parking lot will be cold.

I like that article, as do most Skins fans of course. For the record, he is not suing yet but has suggested he may and "supposedly" his attornies are preparing a case. FWIW, as bad as he is, I still prefer him to the evil zombe from Oakland.:D Can you imagine what it is like for poor Jason, going from one to the other.

I don't think they will have to worry about Al Davis long. It's a miracle he is still alive. He is the Keith Richards of football. Dan on the other hand looks invincible. Some of those stories about him are hilarious in a pathetic, Ebenezer Scrooge kind of way.

My pick is the Packers but it will be very close. One of the principal reasons is that the game is being played indoors on a fast track. This definitely favors the Packers. We saw what Rodgers did against the Falcons. On the other hand when playing outdoors in this postseason, it's been a bit closer. Had this game been outdoors, different story.

The Steeler defense can be thrown at; that is the way to beat them. Ben is also vunerable to interceptions; the Jets could have had six or seven two weeks ago.

On the other hand, the Packers secondary is not as good as the Jets secondary. Don't take my word for it. That is what Hines Ward said. So, who knows. Also, Ben has won two Super Bowls. Hard to bet against that record or the fact that this is the Steelers third Super Bowl appearance in six years. Pretty impressive!

I will root for the Steelers because Tom is a good friend and you like to see your pals happy :salute:: :)

Consider the "source."
The source was actually just about the whole sports press corps. That link just happened to be a convenient one with the video. I suspect there is much more truth to it than not but as always, fans are free to believe what they like.

Falling snow and ice from stadium roof injures 5, 1 critically.

Five inches of snow causing major problems in Dallas, hundreds of flights cancelled, roads shut down, fans unable to get to Dallas.

Gee, and Dallas isn't ever a cold weather city.

So do you guys who want a "Frozen tundra" and think "real men play outdoors where it's 90 below" still think the Super Bowl in New York is a "brilliant" idea.

Why don't you ask the poor SOB who is critically injured..........

George my friend, you can be injured or killed crossing any street in any city or simply walking around the house. Weather is just part of life, to attempt to avoid it is unrealistic. What's next, doomed cities?^&grin Interestingly enough, northern cites are much more adept at dealing with winter issues so likely as not, that particular problem would not have happened up here. So FWIW, yes I still think real men do play outdoors and that artificial turf causes more injuries than falling snow and ice ever did or will.:wink2:

Bill,
Seriously?? You don't think they go out (all of the NFL)???? This is such a non story as the AP pretty much put it, it is pathetic. ESPN even made jokes about it saying and I quote "there are plenty of TMZ type idiots sprawling the streets of Dallas/Ft. Worth looking to put their cell phone cameras to use" .

About Ben's only crime was the hatchett job he did to Billy Joel's Piano Man.

Nuff said.

Brad, I appreciate the support. I root for the AFC too. I have the same concerns though that you posted. It just may not be the Burgh's year. I just have a rotten feeling on it. I hope I am wrong. The injuries are just piling up too high in key places, it really hurts. No complaints, injuries usually play a major role and the teams that avoid the most critical ones win.

While I would be extremely upset in losing, the Pack is a good team and organization, so no issue in losing to them.

I had the same feeling all week leading up to the Jets game, hopefully for you, the result won't be the same.

I'll be tuning in for this one............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................at halftime to see the Black Eyed Peas, specifically Fergie, who reminds me of a certain girl I have come to get to know very well the past several years.........^&grin

Seriously Tom, of course the link and the story itself can hardly be taken as anything more than a humorous anecdote about the questionable off field behavior of someone who has a history of self destructive off field behavior. I assumed you got that, maybe not. No one can doubt his ability on the field and, hey, maybe he plays better with a hangover. He would not be the first; some guy name Joe comes to mind. Frankly I could care less about what he does on or off the field but that doesn't make it any less amusing, as was his story in response.

No matter what, this year has two deserving teams and regardless of the score tomorrow, both have done themselves proud this season. So have a drink on me and enjoy the game. Better still one on Ben, he probably wouldn't notice.:salute::

Well Tom I disagree with you, the Steelers have injuries, suspensions all year and have found a way (sometimes luck mind you) to pull out some big wins, I see it as a Steeler win something like 23-16 or so, gonna be like a Raven-Steeler kinda game, so good luck to you my friend...Sammy

Anyone but Green Bay. Go Steelers. Should be a barn burner unless both sides get the SB jitters. -- Al

Thanks Sammy, I sure hope you are right. I put the Iron City in the fridge tonight. I just hope I enjoy them..................

The Redskins didn't have much of a season in 2010, but, they did manage to defeat the NFC champion in game #5 of the regular season. The final was Washington 16 to Green Bay's 13. Ahh, bragging rights.^&grin:salute:: -- Al

Be careful you don't put them next to paint thinner and drink the thinner by mistake; but then again, the thinner would taste better..........:salute::
