N.F.L. 21-22 Season (4 Viewers)

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

And sometimes the refs blow a call and don't throw a flag for delay of game.

That's quite the horseshoe the Ravens have wedged up their collective *****.

I'd be embarrassed if my team won in a chicken **** way like that, but hey, a win is win.

There's not a Sunday goes by the refs don't give or take a win from a team, after today's game, I'll take that horseshoe.

Holy Smoke!

I missed that...that means it was from their own 49 yard line?

Unreal!
I need to watch the replay again. In order for the FG to be a 66 yarder, the LOS had to be the Raven 44 yd. line and the kick would have come from 7 yards behind that, thus the kick would have come from the Raven 37? -- Al

Human error...
that's just part of the game...
happened to me...happened to you...happens to everybody...
you would think with instant review...it would be corrected...
but amazingly...
it doesn't work that way all the time...
so many things are not reviewable...
a win is a win...
take what they give you and don't fret over what you get cheated out of...
nothing you can do about it...

"play by play" in the "box score" says this...

Mike, I guess my confusion comes from where the kick is measured. Is it from the LOS or the point where the ball is placed on the kick? The ball is usually placed 7 yards behind the LOS when kicked? The LOS at the 48 means it is 62 yards to the crossbar, which would mean the ball had to be placed only 4 yards back of the LOS, if that is the measurement used. That's not nearly enough kicking room to clear the LOS. Like I say, I will have to see the replay again. -- Al

Al...

I always did it like this...

Line of scrimmage...
plus 7 yards back is where it's placed to be kicked...
plus goal post is 10 yards back in the endzone...

so line of scrimmage +17...

48 + 17 = 65 yard field goal...not 66...

unless I'm wrong...

what the heck...give him the record...that foot is a weapon...^&grin

Just saw the replay. Ball was kicked from the Raven 44, which makes it a 66 yarder measured from the point of the kick. LOS was the Detroit 48, so the ball was set up 8 yards behind the LOS. Makes a lot more sense watching it than trying to figure numbers.:tongue: -- Al P.S. A large part of my confusion was I was figuring the ball on the Raven side of the field. Idiot me. {sm3}

When kickers can routinely drill FGs from 50-60 yards, coaches have to start taking that into consideration toward the end of the game. Maybe either try to score a TD instead of kicking a go ahead FG and giving the opponent the opportunity get into FG position just over midfield to win the game. But, honestly, if a kicker can drill one from 66 yards, you just have to tip your hat to the guy. I'll take that situation 100 times out of a 100 if I'm the Lions. And the criticism about the play clock is overblown. The refs rarely make that call during the game if the ball is snapped within a moment of the clock hitting zero.

Finally had a chance to catch up on all the games yesterday, and got to put the Rams at the top, they looked pretty good on both sides of the ball....Bills looking like they found their magic from last year and will win the East by week 12....I see the hype has already started of the Brady/Billicheck bowl....pulling for the Pats vs Bucs, not a Billicheck fan but even less of a Brady one.

Admire your optimism, but the Patriots are going to get demolished, I'd say 42-17 or something like that, maybe worse.

It's now crystal clear to any Patriots fan that it was Brady all those years, not Belichick who won 6 SB's here, not to mention Belichick cost the Patriots two other wins by being outcoached by Grampa Coughlin and blowing the perfect season and then his idiotic, moronic decision to bench Malcolm Butler in the SB vs the Iggles, Foles went out and had the game of his life, just a moronic decision to bench Butler.

This team sucks, they are poorly coached, dumb penalties, not ready to go to start the 2nd half in two of the three games now.

It was Brady for sure.

And how is the poetic justice that Brady will break the all time yards passing record in New England?? But if anyone knows Brady it is Billicheck...let's go Pats! 🙂

It's a tough nut to ask a rookie QB to beat the defending SB champs. Tampa has a great front line. The Pats won't be able to run and the entire game will be on Jones. It might get ugly. I'm going with Tampa 33 Pats 17.

I didn't watch that game...but it's early...
there's still 14 games left...
we're not even a 1/5th through the season yet...

I watched Pittsburgh and the Ryder Cup...

that opening line seems low to me...
Tampa -5 1/2 against NE...I was thinking -9-10...

and the Steelers did not look great today either...

Las Vegas has already moved them to -6 1/2...

Holy smokes...a frickin' brute and a half...

just watched this video on Australian Jordan Mailata...
contract for 64 million dollar with the Eagles...

6' 7"s...365 lbs...they use him as an offensive tackle...
no fat on this guy...none...all muscle and power...

maybe they should of made him a running back...
nobody can tackle him in the videos...

Cowboys just got screwed on the goal line, whistle never blew, forward momentum never stopped, ball CLEARLY crosses the goal line........but nope.

Call on the field was no TD, call stands.

But hey, them's the breaks, sometimes you get calls, sometimes you don't, it all evens out, calls are calls, human error is part of the game.

Yeah no; they got hosed.

Jones can't complete a pass longer than 5 yards; and to think people **** on Cam for doing the same thing last year.......he got 7 wins out of this chickenshit roster, this kid won't get 5 wins, but let's dump Cam, DUMB move.

The Saints stink and they hung 28 on the Patriots, their kicker missed two FG's, should have been 34-13.

I'm thinking 42-17, Brady is going to go off on the Patriots, might even be worse.

Bet your kids college fund on it, you'll be able to send her to Harvard.

I didn't like the call...but they had no angle on the replays to dispute it...cost me 7...

Mike,
Didn't mean to "like" this post; the angle from the overhead view clearly showed the ball crossing the goal line..........that's BS.

Not that it mattered, Dallas is demolishing the Iggles.

Tell you what Mike, you gotta like what Dallas has done so far this year, gave Tompa Bay a battle, should have won that one actually.........Dak looks great, good for him.

They look legit...........going to try to get tickets to the game when they play here, they're going to destroy the Patriots, I might go dressed as a Cowboys fan..............;)..........I have a "Sanders" road blue Cowboys jersey around here somewhere......................
