A lot of media praise for Jones and the Pats hanging with Brady, but the Pats are averaging 17 points per game (and that includes a game with the lowly Jets). If Cam was the QB last night, the buzz would be that he was finished and should be benched. It's tough for a rookie QB to be thrown straight into the mix but it's still way too early to start declaring him the next Brady. How much did those folks pay to sit in that monsoon last night? There is almost nothing more miserable, even snow, than to sit in a deluge. And then leave the stadium drenched after a close loss. Brutal. If misery loves company, my Rams got run off the field. That invincible Rams D was chasing Murray around like Wile E. Coyote after the Roadrunner. Always a step late. They got torched. Beyond Donald and Ramsey they are thin on D. Maybe the most overrated D in the NFL. Back to the drawing board against the Seachickens on Thursday night.
Jones after 4 games to me is the real deal; he can read defenses and pick up blitzes, runs the no huddle like a 10 year vet, does a very good job of checking down and finding open guys, he completed 19 passes in a row last night, breaking a 30 year record as a rookie.
The offensive is horrendous, they can't run or pass block, cannot pick up stunts to save their lives (or the QBs life) and Mac is going to get killed out there.
They hung with Tampa a lot longer than anyone thought, the average score prediction around here was a 3 TD beat down.................good luck if you gave the points and took the over...........because you lost, this game is just another example as to why I do not gamble, period.
The Brady honks around here are sad today, they thought he was going to light up the Patriots and show everyone once and for all it was him and not Belichick..........the Patriots did a great job of disguising their schemes last night, Brady did not have a good game, 0 TD's.
Not sure I would have kicked a 56 yard field goal in a monsoon vs going for it on 4th and 3.......on the play before, Meyers was WIDE open, but the pass got batted down at the line.
Also, on the series before that one where they settled for a FG after first and goal to go at the 10, Jones missed a wide open Hunter Henry in the corner of the end zone, too bad.
Needless to say, it's going to be a long season here in New England................all I want at this point is for this kid to get better and better each week and not get killed.
They need serious help on the offensive line, which needs to be addressed in the off season either via the draft or free agency.....letting Thuney go was a big mistake, that's for sure.
