N.F.L. 21-22 Season (3 Viewers)

On another note, great to see the Ravens are still a classy bunch with Harbaugh. Jesus, you didn't get the darn record during the course of a game, so you call a play in victory formation to run it 5 yards to get the record? Really, great PR and sportsmanship move by Harbaugh. I am sorry, and I may be a Steelers fan, but continually they show questionable class at best and then play the victim when confronted about it. Just NO ZERO class in that organization.

My definition of uncomfortable is the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ben looks like he is praying not to get sacked on every play. When you see the OLine line up, you think they are making play calls, they are actually hoping and praying they remember their schemes and blocks (according to NFL mikes). All of the Receivers say a hail mary before dropping 50% of the passes, some are not good passes to begin with, others hit their hands and they wonder what happened?!?! Then you have the one bright spot - RB Harris, who you bet is definitely praying he doesn't get killed every time his number is called, I mean, would you run behind that O Line? Switching sides, you have Mike Tomlin holding his breath everytime the Defense runs a play, because here are the predictable outcomes - A. Other team scores on big play. B. A Key player is injured and out of the game C. Devin Bush forgot what defense they were in D. Cameron Heyward constantly mumbles where is Tuitt? D. Minka Fitzpatrick can see the whole field and can often times be seen with tears in his eyes as to how large a debacle the mighty Steelers D is right now E. Joe Haden says, why didn't I retire? F. They are collectively cursing out the offense for putting them in such crap positions. I could go on but it is causing me indigestion after dinner.

On another note, was not at all impressed by TJ Watt's obvious trip on Rodgers, didn't like that. I understand frustration and competition, but the officials screwed that up.

I truly feel bad for Ben, while he may not make 100% of the throws he used to make, I guarantee you if he had a halfway competent O Line, the headlines would be a lot different.

Long season ahead.

Forgot to add, the bs offsides call was a 10 point swing in the Packers game, Steelers were not offsides on that call, how the heck that is not reviewable is a crime.

Should be a interesting weekend, Browns and Chargers, Chiefs and Bills, 4 of the better teams in the AFC, after watching the Chargers last night I'll take them over the Browns, I'd take the Chiefs over the Bills but that KC defense sucks beyond belief!!

I watched that viral video of Urban Meyers in the bar with the girl dancing in front of him...he screwed up and apologized to his family...he should also apologize for that 0-4 start to Jacksonville's fans...where were his hands in that video?
And...............................that should be a wrap on the Urban Meyer tenure in Jacksonville. What a bozo.

There has been a cloud over Meyer everyplace that he has been. Maybe not all his fault but a definite pattern. Why a guy with more money than he could spend in one hundred lifetimes with apparent health issues would give up his cushy TV job to go back to coaching is inexplicable. And with a crappy NFL team at that. Now he has gotten himself into this mess. The alums at SC are clamoring to hire him but I'll take a pass.

The Rams had maybe the best D in the NFL last season but Goff sunk them. This year they unload Goff and upgrade to Stafford but here are the stats on the Rams D after four games: "Through the first four games of 2021, the LA Rams rank 18th in points allowed, 27th in yards allowed, and 20th in DVOA." Putting aside that I have no idea what DVOA means, these numbers are brutal.

The reactions across the NFL after an undefeated team loses are overwhelming.

You can lose a game (or 2 or even 3) and still make the playoffs, you can even win the Super Bowl.

This isn't college football.

So the Patriots dumped Gilmore for a 6th round draft pick to Carolina today.

I'm not understanding what happened here; he wanted an extension, they could not work out a deal, so he held out, he was hurt, so he went on the PUP list for the first 6 weeks of the season.

So when he comes off, was he still planning on holding out or was he going to play out the remainder of his contract/the last 11 games and then walk next year?

If so, why trade him for basically nothing; let him show the rest of the league he can still play the last 11 games of the season and go from there.

If he told them he was holding out for the rest of the year, then I guess he forced their hand.

If they had no plans on keeping him after this year, they should have traded him sooner, they pissed away a somewhat valuable asset with this.

So he shot his way out of town then.

If you sign a contract, you should honor it, granted the landscape has changed and other cornerbacks who are less skilled than he is are getting paid more than he is and in his eyes, he's underpaid, but how it that the Patriots fault?

He signed the deal, so honor it; if his play slipped and he was performing below league average, would he be willing to give some of the money back?

Yeah, I didn't think so.

Getting sick of these overpaid athletes, try going out and working for a living, cry me a river, he wasn't making what he felt he was worth.

Welcome to the real world.

George...
I got one better than that...
I'm pretty perplexed too...
I don't know what the Cowboys are doing...
they released Jaylon Smith today...whom I love...
who has over 100+ tackles every year he has played...
and are basically forfeiting 7.2 million to let him go...
makes no sense to me as they are hardly stacked at linebacker...
he is tied for most tackles by a Cowboy linebacker this year...
which makes the decision to let him go even more bizarre...
there is something fishy about this story...
maybe he has an attitude problem or an injury they are not disclosing...
very disappointed...while I'm not playing I'm a Monday morning armchair coach...
as I'm sure the team knows more than me...
cutting Smith makes no sense to me...
can't understand how they are gonna fill his vacancy with the talent they have...
this is a guy that signed a 64 million dollar contract in 2019...with 35 million guaranteed...
he's playing good...so they cut him and forfeit 7.2 million...
whaaaaaaaaat???

I'll never understand personnel moves in the NFL, they are beyond baffling.

If someone has an injury, it was always my understanding you cannot cut him, it's against the CBA, you'd have to pay him to an agreed injury settlement.

Most of these contracts are front end loaded, 64 million with a 35 million dollar "signing bonus" that does not count vs the cap, then the back end is crap and the player either holds out or is cut.

Again; I don't understand the language/nature of contracts, it's all Greek to me.........and I'm Greek............:wink2:

A ragged but entertaining game between the Rams and Seachickens. Both Stafford and Wilson were off. Donald bent Wilson's finger back like a pretzel stick. And a double punt! I've never seen that before and the explanation of the rule was unclear. The Rams blocked a punt, but the Seattle kicker ran it down, picked up the ball, advanced it beyond the line, and then booted it 68-yards with his second kick. The Rams D is clearly not what they were last season.

The NFL rule book must have been written by the same guy who wrote Mein Kampf...............ok, ok, I kid..................

But really.....................

If a punt gets blocked, it shouldn't be able to be kicked again, such nonsense.........but naturally, someone will chime in "why not, if the kicking team recovers it, they should be able to advance it/kick it again"................

Yeah; no they shouldn't.

******* rule.

Glad LA won; the Seachickens legion of boom has gone bust, they clearly are not the same team.

On one of the sacks of Wilson, he turned the wrong way and there was Donald, he flung him to the ground like a rag doll, he's an old school 70's/80's type defender, has a mean streak, which I like, he's not out there playing grabass with the other team, he wants to rip your head off.

That was one of the weirdest plays that I've ever seen. The Rams player who blocked the kicked was spinning round and round looking upward like he saw a UFO over the stadium but couldn't find the ball. The other Rams players are bolting down the field with no clue it is has been blocked. The big question is whether the punter crossed the line of scrimmage before the second punt. You can only apparently punt it a second time if you are behind the line but it looked as though he crossed it. Also I got to believe the Seahawks players were illegally downfield by the time all this was happening. Have to give that punter credit, though. Most punters would have just fallen on the ball or soiled themselves. This guy was like Jessie Owens meets Batman.

the Bills are the real deal...
offense and defense...
Josh Allen is clicking...
I know they played against KC's weak defense...
but I would still rank them the #1 in the NFL to beat...
in my opinion....better than Murry or Brady...but Gronk might change that when he returns...
watched that game last night...
he is really accurate on long passes...
only 15 of 26...but that was for a whopping 315 yards...
definitely connected for some deep ones...61...53...35...
Allen has mobile legs too...hard to contain...
rushed for 59 himself...
amazing run for a 1st down on 3rd and 4...
when he hurdled the tackler to get a new set of downs...
very athletic and accurate QB...loaded with talented receivers,,,

A KC fan who calls himself the "X factor" got KO'd in the stands last night. I don't condone fan violence but if someone has to get knocked out, it might as well be one of those jackarses that dress up to get on TV. And no one lifted a finger to help him as he rolled down the stairs.

I had to google it, holy crap that was a violent punch. The guy who threw it certainly has thrown one before. The only commentary I saw was hearsay in that the "Xfactor" fan threw water at the guy. Guy didn't say a word, just walked up and knocked him out. I guess he comes from the "when in doubt, knock em out" school of hard knox!

Unbelievable. This is one of the reasons I gave up my NFL seats and license was the fighting in the stands. I thought it was out of control 15 years ago, now it is literally multiple incidents, every week, every game.
