N.F.L. 21-22 Season (1 Viewer)

Jason...

agree with those comments...

plus...there must be a pretty good food cost profit in those stadium eats...

$10 for a 12oz can of beer...and $8 for a plain hot dog...

beer was cheaper at a strip bar...lol...

stadium parking was no bargain either...$20-$25 a car...

I was going to a lot of Astros games a few years ago...usually over $200+ per game with ticket, parking and food...

always amazed when I would see a family of 5-6 with all the kids decked out in over priced jerseys and hats...

only went to 2 games last year...I actually prefer to watch the game in my recliner on my 75" Samasung...^&grin
Mike, I was long ago priced out of going to live games. Did it once or twice with my family (5 of us) back in the late 80's/early 90's with the Orioles but it proved too expensive to repeat. I can only marvel at how families afford the experience with today's prices. Never was able to afford the pro-football games. Anyway, with cable at my beck and call, the TV experience is much preferable to live attendance at my age, and has been for years. -- Al

The amazing thing is that almost every NFL game appears to be sold out. Interested to see if that is the case today with so many games being played in awful cold. They couldn't pay me to attend a game in subzero temps with all the aggravation and cost of getting to the stadium, parking, food etc.

honestly...the thrill of being there live is pretty cool...but spending 2-3K a year to go watch 10 or so games is pretty strong...usually we go out to eat before going to the game...that's another $40...but still usually end up sending another $30-$40 just on beer once inside the stadium...and I gotta have my peanuts too...lol...they are a staple...

I have found that watching the games on tv is much more conducive to my lifestyle...it's a 3-3 1/2 commitment to watch a game at home...as opposed to a 6-7 hour expedition to drive up there...I don't have to drive to Houston (an hour drive)...park and walk 4 blocks to the game...on my tv I can rewind...watch instant replays...my lazy boy is very comfortable compared to the cramped seating at the stadium...I doubt I will go to any more games live again...

The nearest team to me is in Philly. The traffic is awful even on the weekend. The city is awful. A guy I know said it took him two hours to exit the parking lot at a recent Eagles game. It's about a two hour drive each way to get there. So an all-day event to attend a game. The tickets for the last NFL game that I attended cost about $200 apiece. So nearly $1k for a family. The drunks and idiots fighting in the stands are an added bonus. I'll pass and sip hot chocolate on my couch.

Looks like even the Cleveland fans have bailed on the game today. The stadium is nearly empty. The Saints should give those two fans alone in the upper deck season tickets. They must be the most loyal fans in history to attend a meaningless game in this weather.

A good friend of mine was a Niner’s season ticket holder for 20 years. He did not renew when they moved to Levi Stadium.

I asked him why.

He said he’d love to blame it on expensive parking and over prized beer.

Nope. He simply said the game was better on TV and using his own bathroom pretty much guaranteed that he would not contract some rare disease.

How about the NFL Network cutting away from the Franco Harris halftime tribute for a commercial break? It would be funny if it wasn't sad.

That was pitiful. I was watching and enjoying and all of a sudden...COMMERCIAL!. I changed channels and never went back. -- Al

How bad is the NFC? The NFC has 6 teams at .500 or better, as does the AFC, but 4 of the NFC teams are from the East, leaving 3 other divisions with a grand total of 2 teams at .500 or better. At least the AFC has a better balance with their 6 teams spread across 3 divisions. -- Al

Remember this is the same group that hyped the ozzy concert at the rams game and cut away , thus having to end up paying ozzy millions as he was doing the songs for free as a release party. They cut his tit for tat advertising and then had to end up paying him damages. There are some not so bright peanuts in that department in the NFL. But do they care , no.

Both the NFC & AFC are abysmal...
barely 20 wins in each division after 60 games played...
that is a low percentage...
TB...currently at 6-8 will probably host 11-4 Dallas...

Many teams have lost their starting QBs which doesn't improve the quality of play. The 17-game schedule is starting to take its toll. You won't see many repeat Super Bowl teams when they have to play 21-games to win it and the season extends into February.

You're going to have not one, but two division winners with sub 500 records hosting playoff games.

The NFL is a bad product plain and simple.

The Broncos are a real train wreck. Pete Carroll must laugh himself to sleep at night getting three players and FIVE draft picks including two first rounders and two second rounders from the Broncos for a washed-up Russell Wilson. And Wilson is the gift that keeps on giving with his massive contract extension. Wilson threw three INTs and was sacked six times by a Rams D without Aaron Donald. The Rams scored on every drive in the game despite being without most of their star players and being last in the league in almost every offensive category. Baker Mayfield signed his ticket to a starting job somewhere next season. How about Washington, Pittsburgh or even New England?

With the 17 game Bataan death march of a season and QB's dropping like flies, maybe the Rams should consider keeping him, plus aren't there rumors Stafford might retire?

He won a Super Bowl and really has nothing left to prove, he's not an egomaniac like Brady who was willing to flush his marriage down the toilet so he could play until he's 60.

Stafford signed an enormous contract despite his age. He has already indicated that he is coming back. I can't see them keeping Mayfield as well. He didn't leave his last team to sit on the bench in LA and he has played well enough to start for many other teams. He is looking for a starting job with the money. He would be great in TN or Pittsburgh. Washington might be an option. I've seen enough of Mac Jones in NE to see that he is not the guy to take the Pats to the next level. It would be a bold move, but Mayfield would be a big improvement over him in NE.

I blame the moron who's the OC, a defensive guy who's never called a play at any level ever, Belichick blew it by doing this and giving a 2nd year QB a moron like that to coach him, I don't blame Mac entirely, he was 10-7 as a rookie and on the upswing, this year has been a disaster and it is 100% Belichick's fault.

Oh sorry; Belicheat.

The lateral play against the Raiders was because Jones can't throw the ball down field. They knew he couldn't reach the end zone with his weak arm on a Hail Mary. He is toast with the Pats. One more year and done. Mayfield has his issues, but he is tough and a great arm. No dirty play blocks or crying like a kid when he is injured.

The NFL season is longer.

However, the math says week 17 is not to blame for the rash of QB injuries.

Of note, the Niners lost Trey Lance in week 3, Matthew Stafford went down in week 11 and Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray were hurt in week 14.

On top of that, Denver, New England, New York (Jets), Pittsburgh, Miami, Tennessee, Philadelphia, Washington, Chicago, Carolina, New Orleans and Atlanta have lost their QBs to injury going back to week 2.
