N.F.L. 21-22 Season (2 Viewers)

Speaking of salaries and the latest billionaires vs. millionaires story:

Whatever happened to those 4 running backs who demanded bigger contracts? Jacobs, Barkey, Taylor and Ekler?

In 5 games they have a combined total of 482 yards and 4 touchdowns.

I hate it when the billionaires are right.

What are the odds that Cleveland beats the Niners and the hapless Jets beat the Eagles? Unreal. Every team in the NFC West lost except the Rams. The only bit of good news this weekend for LA fans with USC, UCLA, and the Dodgers all going down.

Two shockers that's for sure.

What's not shocking; the Patriots stink, stank, stunk, they are ****ing awful, totally unwatchable.

Not even Halloween and their season is over.

Two last place teams, Red Sox and Patriots, Celtics look to be very good, we'll see about the Bruins.

A true back to the 1980's vibe in Boston.............poor Krafty Bob, he's about to see his season ticket base disintegrate and the team become as popular as they were in the 1980's.

Time for Belichick to be put out to pasture, the game has passed him by, just like Landry, Shula and Grant.

Whatever version of the Mara family owns the Giants should have been standing at the visiting team locker room at halftime and handed a packed bag to the G Men's coach and said thanks but I'll take it from here. That was the most atrocious clock mismanagement I have ever seen at any level of football. 14 seconds left you are at the 3 yarrd line and call an option when you have no timeouts left. QB hands it to Barkley who gets stuffed. No points. No surprise here why they are 1-5. Just unforgiveably atrocious coaching.

Had a great day yesterday....................Steelers had a bye, no stress!

The Browns have one of the best defenses in the NFL and Purdy lost two of his principal weapons. On top of that he and the team had a bad day. Your typical trap game. It happens.

The Jets are from hapless. They also have one of the best defenses and, except for the Dallas game, they’ve made every QB look silly. Wilson has made slight improvement week to week where he almost looks like a competent QB and with this defense that’s all you need. If he continue to incrementally improve they may have a good season.

Did you mean that the Jets are far from hapless, Brad? Yeah, they shut down Hurts yesterday. I think the tactic of popping out of the pocket and scrambling is no longer foolproof, and the Jets anticipated practically every rush play, too. Swift seemed to get stopped right at the line of scrimmage nearly every time he carried. And Hurts threw 3 interceptions, but there could have been more-should have been more-that the Jets nearly made. The Jets shut the Eagles out for the whole second half.

I thought he should have thrown more short pass plays, instead of airing it out 30 or 40 yards down field when a play went south.

The Eagles' defense looked much better, but overall, it was embarrassing. The Jets outplayed the Eagles.

First franchise win over Philadelphia, too, ever.

Yep, embarrassing.

Prost!

Samuel out, Williams out and McCaffrey questionable.

If the Niners are ever going to prove themselves as the Super Bowl favorite they will win on Monday.

Great win today by the Patriots over the Bills, Mac Jones got the "no signature wins/no come from behind wins in the final minutes" monkey off his back.

Also, great defensive game plan today by Belichick, Allen was running for his life all game long, no time to throw.

Finally an entertaining game after several weeks of dumpster fires.

We'll see how things go moving forward.

I hate to even post this , but I guess I am happy the Steelers won. How ugly can it get, I know Doug is probably dying over that spot. I saw it while on a plane. I dunno, with inches to go, maybe he got it. I thought the call on the play before was nutty, I understand the pass INT, as when you don't turn your head, they always call it, incidental or not. The taunting, jeez, they could call that on every play. Man, officials are seemingly playing larger and larger parts each week.

Tom-
It was a bad spot but the Rams were not winning that game. They were badly outplayed in the second half. I'm resigned to the fact that the Rams are, at best, a bubble playoff team that won't get beyond the first round of the playoffs (assuming they get that far). So another loss doesn't make much difference. Another tough weekend for LA fans with the Rams and USC getting rolled. I think every team that I pulled for this last weekend ended up losing. I may need a new hobby.

yup, some weekends are maddening. I had a lucky one, I hate to say kharma always comes back around. On the college front, Texas IMO is just a lazy team, kind of like the CPA exam - they used to call it the 300 club, ie, you only need 75 on each of the 4 parts, anything higher, you are wasting your time. I feel like Texas is that type of team, only play when they have to, that is a terrible habit. FSU - I don't even know what to say, I feel like they are a heart beat away from an upset loss. And then the Steelers..............freaking ugly.

Sorry, but just gotta say it (as I was at the game on Monday night!)....super glad the Vikings pulled off that win!
Was a great game in person!!!
And even though that trick play didn't work out in the 2nd Qtr, it was cool to see that unfold without TV editing.

Purdy is out this week it seems. He had a concussion Monday.

Defense played poorly. The DC needs to be better; they seemed to have lost their identity. They shouldn’t have lost the game.

Brad:

Excellent point about the defense.

All of the Niner injuries are on offense, the defense has no excuses.

Best,
Jason

Jason, there was an article in The Athletic about Wilks. He was handed a great defense and he’s screwed it up. They get little pressure on the QB. They barely have any sacks. I also don’t like that he’s up in a booth. Get your butt down on the field. That’s what Salah and Ryans did. No idea why they hired this guy. No way Cousins should have shredded them.

Brad:

Thanks for the article tip, it summed up the Niners’ defensive situation perfectly.

You’re welcome. I see Wilks came out and say he screwed up on the blitz.

Tomorrow is an important game. You don’t want to lose three in a row.

My comments from actually taking the time to watch the NFL today. Steelers are not a good football team, but the officiating in this game is got to be the worst I have ever seen. Incredulous. How the NFL can even with a straight face defend this debacle is absolute horse ****. It is so bad, that the announcers are having issues defending this. This as a product absolutely sucks. It seems like they are going to prop up Jacksonville with the Coach I refuse to name b/c I think he is an absolute jerk and QB Trevor Lawrence. I am sorry, but that QB is never going to win a Super Bowl unless it is giftwrapped by the NFL and Goodell.
