N.F.L. 21-22 Season (3 Viewers)

My comments from actually taking the time to watch the NFL today. Steelers are not a good football team, but the officiating in this game is got to be the worst I have ever seen. Incredulous. How the NFL can even with a straight face defend this debacle is absolute horse ****. It is so bad, that the announcers are having issues defending this. This as a product absolutely sucks. It seems like they are going to prop up Jacksonville with the Coach I refuse to name b/c I think he is an absolute jerk and QB Trevor Lawrence. I am sorry, but that QB is never going to win a Super Bowl unless it is giftwrapped by the NFL and Goodell.

The Patriots lost to the Doofins today 31-17, couldn't make a stop on 3rd down, Mac Jones threw a horrible INT in the red zone, he's awful, the offense is offensive, the team overall sucks.

That said, as Tom pointed out, the officiating is just beyond horrendous.

Hunter Henry was hit by not one but two Doofins 5 yards out of bounds, no call.
Devonte Parker was lit up on a helmet to helmet hit, no call, the ref they consult on calls or non calls said it was clear helmet to helmet, 15 yard penalty.
The Doofins time after time get away with two men in motion, no call.
The Doofins on a critical third down play had a lineman a good 8 yards downfield, a flag was thrown, then picked up..........Doofins went on to score a TD, again the ref they consult said it was lineman down field, they should not have picked up the flag.
Stevenson was tackled by the facemask and dragged down, no call.
Jackson was flagged for a rinky dink DPI call that the color man thought was ticky tack "at best", instead of a FG, Miami goes on to score a TD on that drive.

It's bad enough the Patriots suck, have no talent on either side of the ball, but to see them get jobbed no less than 6 times is just too much, the NFL as a product blows and is basically unwatchable...................................

It could be worse. The bottom has dropped out for my Rams. I had low expectations, and they are being fulfilled. Stafford is now hurt after catching a 2-point conversion while trailing by 30 points. You can't make that up. The QB they drafted as his backup, the much-touted Georgia QB Benson, has made like Amelia Earhart and disappeared. Likely in rehab based on his behavior in an out of control college football program. So they are down to the hot dog vendor playing QB this week. If you want to make a million dollars, bet the farm on Green Bay to beat the Rams. The Rams are currently the favorite to win at Lambeau Field without a QB. I've been watching Rams football for decades, and the Rams never play well in places like that under the best of circumstances.

I wondered where Benson ended up after college; he's the only QB in the league who collects a paycheck from the Rams and a social security check.

I saw where Stafford got hurt; they made somewhat of a comeback vs Dallas before fading at the end.

As an NFL fan, there's nothing worse than when your team stinks, football is my favorite sport and watching the Patriots get rolled week after week is not my idea of an enjoyable time.

I watched the game with about 14 other people yesterday; aside from myself and my friend, no one else was paying attention, there were 47 conversations going on in the background, people were grazing all day long on the food spread and knocking down adult beverages.

I told my friend I'm done for the year, it's a miserable experience.

Knowing Belichick, if the Patriots bottom out and get a top 5 pick, he'll either trade down for value or draft a long snapper from Navy.

I have ZERO faith in him leading the team into a rebuild, he's not the man for the job, he has to go.

But that lizard Kraft will keep him around so he can chase Shula's record, like breaking that record matters to anyone.

Brad/George/Tom:

Sorry, as a Niner fan I “win” the loser’s bracket this week.

The Patriots, Rams and Steelers were never projected to do much this year. The 49ers on the other hand were going to go undefeated, win the Super Bowl, win next year’s Super Bowl and so on.

Now their vaunted defense can’t stop anyone, their offense has scored 17 points in each of their last 3 games and most importantly, they might not have a franchise QB after all.

I took a look at their upcoming schedule; wow, it's brutal, they had better turn things around soon.

The trifecta is complete with the Rams, UCLA, and USC all taking beatdowns this weekend. The Lakers added a bonus beatdown in the NBA. These are lean time for LA fans.

Well, I may be eating my words on the Ravens. They keep winning and the defense is pretty stout. Oh boy, guess I better be prepared for the hype that will come soon!

No, not this year, all that noise is irrelevant, Harbaugh, Jackson, Roqan Smith has this team focused, 1 game, 1 week, at a time, win that's awesome, lose, regroup for next week, Kyle Hamilton 2nd year guy said it best, don't let the highs get to high, or lows get to low.

Sammy,
you don't live here, what I mean is that with this bit of steam behind them, they are already counting down the days to the SB in local media and folks. They may well have the defense, but I like to say Lamar Jackson is one snap away from it going south. I am just not a believer, time will tell, his last performance in the playoffs when they had a solid team was abysmal at best. I know the Ravens won without a great QB before, but Dilfer never made a mistake and Flacco had some very good luck moments (that got him a huge contract). Lamar makes mistakes. That said, long season to go, halfway there. Next stretch of games will be interesting.

Agree on the media on my sports pages, either going to the Superbowl or gonna finish last 🙄 I totally agree with you on Lamar, has won a bunch of regular season games but only 1 playoff game, he seems more comfortable in games this year, we'll see, the next 2 weeks at home Browns and Bengals should be good games

The Patriots just set football interest in Germany to an all time low.

Mac Jones is terrible.
Zappe is terrible.

Two shots that made me laugh out loud; Kraft with his Costanza jacket looking gutted after the Jones int where he had not one, but two guys wide open in the end zone and Belichick after Zappe threw the game ending INT.

If I were Kraft, I'd send the entire team to the Russian Front.

I was front and center to the 1-15 1990 team, 0-8 at home, the last year we had season tickets; this team is actually worse.

Quite a feat.

And the nfl keeps getting worse, is it just me or is this product awful???? I see SF 49ers curb stomped "The Goodell Next Coming" Jaguars. That made me smile after all of GoodIdiots praise of Trevor Lawrence ad nauseum. Next up , Joe Burrows lays an egg all day til end and Bengals still stopped short. Concurrently Lamar Jackson throws INT Pick 6 to blow final part of the lead, then after Brown's gift of no extra point, the Mighty Browns somehow press on the Ravens Defense to kick Game winning FG. And the Steelers somehow find their running game early, then stutter as usual, and it takes the Steeler D with 2 key intercepts to hold on to win vs Green Bay. Can this product get anymore mediocre? I guess you have to say the 49ers returned to form as I believe they are one of the best teams but the rest of this league stinks.

Welcome to my world.

Best weekend in a while for my Rams. A bye week. There was finally a Bennett sighting. He showed up at the Georgia game. Perhaps out of rehab. Great draft pick Rams! Way to do your homework and pass on several college QBs to pick a guy so out of control that he can't play. Imagine the condition he must have been in to be drafted, get paid big money, and then the Rams tell him not to show up even after Stafford gets injured.

Preach on brother.

What a horrible, terrible product.

And that 49ers TD on the fumble recovery that got wiped out due to an "illegal substitution" penalty was the icing on the cake.

I have to wonder if mobsters have gotten to some of the refs in the league.

As well as some of the QB's.

The officiating was not good yesterday accross the board. The Ravens and Browns should both be screaming, the last highights I saw on the recap of that game were all ref misses, literally, not the game, but the network put together all the questionable calls into a reel. It was unreal!

That 49ers call was awful but at least they then scored. This is not the first time they had calls go against them. Two terrible calls in the Cleveland game helped to cost them the game.

The Ravens got jobbed?

Gee, what a shame.

Ravens didn't get Robbed, they have created new ways to lose double digit leads in the 4th quarter the last 2 years, seem some of the crazy stats this week on time of possession with a lead, percentage of winning when leading in the 4th, yada yada, whatever it is the Ravens can find a way to lose, give me a 35-0 *** whippn, and I can say we were not the getter team, but this mess of losing with leads has to stop, it's absolutely ridiculous

Joe Burrow tore a ligament in his wrist, he's done for the year.

So for the second year in a row, it's shaping up that I'll have zero interest in watching the Super Bowl, last year it was Chiefs/Eagles, now it's shaping up for Chiefs/Eagles rematch, Dolphins/Eagles, Ravens/Eagles................
