N.F.L. 24-25 Season (3 Viewers)

It is maddening sometimes how much a QB matters, but if you look at every SB, there was always a great QB or one having a generational season. I can think of 2 real exceptions and of course it is the Ravens - Dilfer and Flacco. Not to sound bitter, but I still have a hard time believing either of those teams won it all, just the right seasons and literally the right bounce of the ball.

TD
Don't forget Foles with that horseshoe he had up his ass for two games, the NFCCG vs Minnesota and the SB vs New England; he did exactly nothing the rest of his career outside of those two games.

First play of the Green Bay/Iggles game; Packers kick returner gets drilled on a helmet to helmet shot, fumbles, overhead shot clearly shows he recovered his own fumble............ball goes to the Iggles, who then score a TD.

Give me another reason to hate the Iggles more than I already do.

This league blows.

Every game a dud so far. The Broncos get my vote for worst uniforms. Ravens-Bills next week should be a good game.

I can remember as a kid watching many an epic Rams-Vikings playoff game in the 70s and 80s. Usually in December on the frozen tundra in Minnesota where the Ram players looked like German soldiers at Stalingrad. None of which ever went well for the Rams. The game tonight feels more like a college bowl game in AZ. The Rams are playing well. Hopefully they make it a game.

A nice win for the Rams and LA community. I felt bad for Sam Darnold, though. The Vikes win 14 games but get curb stomped against the Lions and then Rams. Now they want to run him out of town. He was terrible but the whole Vikings team stunk last night. Like they were in a daze.

Vikings season:

Win a bunch of games.

Lose to Detroit.

Lose to Rams.

Win a bunch of games.

Lose to Detroit.

Lose to Rams.

Go Bills....................just kidding, not my team, but at this point, seems like it could be anyone's game. I still think KC will be hard to beat when it counts. Don't think they are ready to give away the crown just yet. My team now is ABR - anybody but ravens GO TEAM!

My predicts:

Texans 27 KC 24 - much closer than expected and a potential upset.

Buffalo 31 Ravens 30 - Henry runs wild but the Ravens secondary was suspect even against Russell Wilson. Josh Allen will light them up.

Detroit 38 Deadskins 20 - A good run for the Deadskins but the Lions are going to outscore them.

Philly 34 LA 10 - cold, rain, maybe snow. Not Rams weather against the most physical team in the league. No answer for Barkley and Brown. Could get ugly. On the upside, the Rams are playing with a lot of confidence with a great defense. Keep it close and the pressure is all on the Eagles.

I'm hoping for a Texans, Ravens, Lions and Rams win..................will end up with KC, Bills, Lions, Iggles wins.

I also predict the Chefs will be down late in the game by 4 points, on a 4th and 25 pass, the refs will throw a late flag, holding, 5 yard penalty, automatic first down to keep the drive alive, Chefs go on to win.

I do NOT want to see Iggles/Chefs in the SB again as the Iggles will find a way to blow the game to the Chefs sure as ****, giving me even more reason to hate them.

A coach is only as good at the talent around him, specifically as you pointed out at QB, it's now a QB driven league.

People rave about how great of a coach Reid is; he was a good coach in Philly who could never get over the hump, he goes to KC and was mostly mediocre; until Mahomes fell into his lap, now he's some super genius coach...........no, he's not, he's got a generational talent of a QB, period, end of story.

Was Belichick a great coach, or did he have a once in a lifetime QB for 19 years.................probably somewhere in the middle, but IMO it was mostly due to Brady.

The Patriots appear to have a very good young QB; the other 52 players on the roster blow, they are years away from being a playoff team, they may never been one again, no guarantees in the NFL or any other sport.

Just ask the Jets, 56 years of mostly mediocrity.
George-

Great post.

For years I have argued that Bill Walsh was the greatest ever only rivaled by Belichick.

A friend recently pointed out that Joe Gibbs was the greatest NFL coach based on his 3 Super Bowls won with 3 different mediocre QBs.

Walsh and Belichick had absolute all-time, greatest ever quarterbacks, Gibbs had 3 QBs that barely make the top 100.

The Vikings will never make it out of the playoffs 😒

There seems to be some hate on them as team overall in the NFL world....and yes they get in their own way ALOT. Players, coaches and management....

But I will still go to a game or two each year, enjoy the experience inside and outside the stadium. Have not encountered mean fans thus far and hope to dodge that experience.
And every game I've gone to they have won - hope to keep my streak alive at least!

They are expecting 2-4 inches of snow on Sunday during the Rams-Eagles game. Ugh. Never a good sign for the Rams.

All of the outdoor games have temperatures way below freezing at kickoff this weekend.

Interestingly enough, the only in-door game is also the only game that is not a regular season rematch.

I am hoping that these storylines add some interest.

The Texans special teams coach should be fired on the field and forced to walk home. They give up a big return on the opening kickoff. One the players throws his helmet to add 15 yards. And then he shoves the coach. They go on to miss two FGs and an extra point. Stroud was awful and his O-line phoned that game in. Even a mediocre effort on offense and special teams wins that game. They gave a "1-2-3 Cancun" performance tonight. The Bills-Ravens winner will roll KC.

I think the Chiefs are a pretty darn good team. I like that team. First class from top to bottom. I like Andy Reid. This is what a team to look up to is supposed to look like. Go Chiefs.

Instead of wearing black pants and black and white striped shirts, the refs should wear red pants and red and white striped shirts..........not one, but two personal fouls called on the Texans for roughing Mahomes, neither of which were penalties.

It's a joke and an embarrassment how the Mahomes gets all the calls.

The Texans had one job to do; cover that big oaf Kelce, the rest of the Chiefs receivers blow, yet he was wide open all game long.

Not a fan of either the Bills or the Ravens, but I hope whoever survives that game rolls the Chiefs, so sick of that team and how they literally get all the calls, the Steelers, Cowboys, 49ers, Redskins, Giants, Patriots, Raiders, etc, etc, won all those Super Bowls not getting the games handed to them, they earned every championship.

Eff the Chiefs.

The Lions; wow, I feel for their fans, Goff was brutal tonight, reminded me of how he pissed down his leg in the SB vs the Patrios, 4INT's including a pic 6 and a fumble, he single handedly cost the Lions that game.

Oh and Aaron Glenn told the Patriots thanks but no thanks to a head coaching interview; after that defensive performance, he can stay in Detroit, what else would I expect from a former Jet.

Daniels is something else, what a talent that kid is, hoping for a Rams/Redskins NFCCG, but with a blizzard forecast for Philly, the Iggles are shoe ins to host the NFCCG now, too bad.
