N.F.L. 24-25 Season (2 Viewers)

I'll defer to you on Lamar and his personality; all I know is the Patriots could have drafted him but did not, he's an MVP caliber player, he was a free agent and anyone could have had him, he's a top 5 NFL QB in my eyes.

That's what fans do; they look for a goat and lay all the blame on him; yes, he fumbled, but as you said, so did Lamar and Lamar also threw a bad INT, too bad the guy dropped that two point conversion, he went from hero to goat in the blink of an eye.

I can't see anyone beating Mahomes and the Chiefs, they are stacked and have a great DC as well.
Just found this online from a number of years ago on Jackson, pay attention to the CONS as well as VERDICT. Some of it is prophetic in nature, no? Interesting to say the least.

The draft for all intents and purposes is a total crap shoot, the Ravens got lucky and grabbed him where he was projected to go, late first.
I agree where they got him was good, but I find it ironic the notes and how they proved true and I think Doug has hit the proverbial nail on the head, until proven otherwise, he should be nicknamed Small Game.

From a Steelers fan perspective, we have been literally screwed since Big Ben. I don't think other than the obvious current QBs of Mahomes, Allen,Stafford, Brady (retired), probably forgetting one where we would have gone any further than we have. It just seems the elite ones are the winners. SuperBowl winners since Ben's retirement year - Brady, Mahomes, Stafford and prior 2 years to that - Brady, Mahomes.........................see what I mean. IF Pittsburgh would have gotten Lamar Jackson, I just don't think we would be any further than we are. Need to find a true elite QB. They are the difference between winning and losing. Going to the playoffs is great, but if everyone is honest, not making the SB sucks. And that is not being a fair weathered fan, I watch it for 2 purposes, competition and entertainment. The Steelers IMO have not been entertaining since Ben. Yes we made the playoffs, but it always felt like we were limping in and losing immediately. (When we had Ben, we always had a chance and there were only a couple of those limp ins where losing the next one was a foregone conclusion with him). To be fair, our offensive coordinators have stunk since Bruce Arians.

Being a life long Patriots fan, I sat through some miserable seasons and horrible teams, two SB appearances in 40 years up to 2000 and they lost both...........then it all changed, they won the division 17 times in 19 years, made 13 trips to the AFCCG, including 8 in a row, 9 Superbowls, winning 6.

As a result, I became spoiled and entitled, so yes, I agree it's not enough to make the playoffs, winning the SB is all that matters. The Ravens are stuck in purgatory, very good regular season, one or two playoff wins and then out, they've gotten to 1 Super Bowl under Harbaugh.

As long as Allen and Mahomes stay healthy, really no one else in the AFC has a shot to get to the Super Bowl.

Harbaugh is to blame for that loss, not Lamar and not Andrews.

No idea what he was doing on those 2 point conversions.

They should have tried Henry on both of those, one of those 2 attempts would have succeeded with him.

you may well have a good point. All I know is if Henry was on my team, he would be on the field in every situation where you have must need yards. Until they fully stop him, why not put it in his hands. Oftentimes, I think coaches outcoach themselves. End of day though, 2 turnovers in the first half put them in the position they were in. You can probably sort blame to multiple personnel depending on what point you declare the game lost.

The predicts:

Bills 30 KC 24 - This is a legacy game for Allen. Like Lamar Jackson the window is closing on his career. KC's luck runs out.

Eagles 27 Deadskins 20 - The Eagles are winning while not playing well on offense except for a big dose of Barkley. They still win at home. Daniels is the real deal, though. He makes it a game.

This would be the perfect outcome; Chiefs don't go to the Super Bowl, Bills do................and do Bills things once they get there.

The Iggles win another one; just like the Soviets beating the Germans on the Eastern Front..............neither outcome is ideal, but it's the lesser of two evils.

It would be so great to see a superstar admit that he gets all of the majority of the calls but is never going to happen.

In the last few years it is worth noting that one of the few times where the Chiefs lost the “penalty battle” was in the Super Bowl when they played the Buccaneers and Tom Brady.

Shocking, I never knew.

Whoever wrote that article is a loser because we all know only losers complain about the officials no matter how much in the tank they are for one team.

What a fudgeing farce, the NFL/WWE.

It's ok, Mahomes doesn't think they get favorable treatment. Case closed.

"I don't feel that way,'' Mahomes said Wednesday as the Chiefs began preparations for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium. "At the end of the day, the referees are doing their best to call the game as fair and as proper as they possibly can. And all you can do is go out there and play the game that you love as hard as you can and live with the results."

I really can't stand this guy.

The amount of ref baiting he does, during the actual play, is insane. I've definitely never seen anything like it within the NFL. It reminds me of James Harden. He's clearly calculating how he can get a cheap 15 yards every time he leaves the pocket....and he somehow always gets the benefit of the doubt.

Let's not forget the crazy amount of *****ing he did postgame the one game he got "screwed over" by the refs...the Kadarius Toney offsides game against the Bills. He brought it up to Josh Allen while they were shaking hands.

I hope the Bills beat them 105 to nothing.

Jordan, Brady, and other superstars have all gotten calls. It comes with the territory. You know that when you play them. Their own fans don't complain when it favors them. You want to beat the champs, then you have to beat them. The Saints got a questionable PI call in the playoffs several years ago and they have never let it go. It practically destroyed them. The Rams had several possible missed calls on the last play last week but that's that as far as I'm concerned. They had chances to otherwise win the game and blew them. No reason to blame the refs.

99.99% of the time that is exactly correct. I am sure there is some game and some sport in history where the refs changed the outcome, but at the end of the day in all games IMO, the better team that day wins.

I can think of 2 times as a Steelers fan where we benefited - The Immaculate Reception - the rules and technology available at the time, it was one of the (and IMO still is) greatest plays of all time. Of course, I have seen the analysis using supercomputer video of today and can argue it was an incomplete pass..................... The other was against the Ravens in I think the AFC championship where the receiver running parallel to the goal line reached over for the score. Baltimore still disputes that call but under every microscopic replay and technology available it is a touchdown 100/100 times, so they can stuff it.

My point is agreement with you, calls don't win games, talent and team of the day do.

Big stars have, do and will continue to get the calls as they are part of the game. I personally believe it could be Mahomes, Allen, Jackson, etc, if a QB is running and a defense goes for any type of "boom' hit, they are going to call it nearly everytime. That is the current rules, no hits on the QB. The NFL is under a public microscope regarding concussions, I know it is part of the game, but they are worried about image, regulation, etc and they are going to try and prevent it every chance they can. I am surprised the NFL has not suspended Tua at Miami under the pretense of player safety due to his style of play in all seriousness.

Tom

Hmm...........well ok then, that settles that.

Getting favorable calls because you are a superstar is one thing, sliding later over and over and over and baiting players to hit you along the sideline/flopping with arms flailing after someone breathes on you to drag flags is another, Jordan and Brady were not constant floppers.

Like in the NBA, it should be a penalty on the flopper.

In other news, the Bills just got flagged for roughing the passer, 15 yard penalty.

Brady didn't have to flop. If anyone touched a hair on his head, they threw a flag. I think with all the review technology that there is now some expectation that officiating will be perfect but many calls are subjective by nature. Holding, PI, roughing. You could watch a play a thousand times in slow motion and debate the call after the fact without ever reaching any conclusion. It's just part of the game. Fans and coaches generally don't complain when they win.

King Pete to the Raiders is an interesting move. If Carroll still has some gas in the tank, it will be an excellent choice. He's a great coach.

Right; sure they did.

Holy smokes as Tom likes to say.

Honest to Christ, I give up.
Holy Smokes! :)

To be fair Tom B. got a lot of calls in his days. Not everyone and he lost some too, but he got a lot. And to me that is ok, doesn't taint the wins at all, he was a smart guy, took advantages like every other smart elite guy where he could. As we all like to say, there is winning and there is winning. Anything else, nobody really remembers!

Again, I am ok with all the calls, they don't win or lose the game, the team does. I truly believe in nearly every professional game/sport (other than boxing, whole different story) I have ever watched, the best team of the day won the game.

You dislike Mahomes like I do Lamar, I get it. I personally think Lamar is now starting to get a crap ton of calls, if you go near him, expect a 15 yarder.

Mahomes is just better at clearly and succinctly pleading his case to the ref..................:)

Mahomes is talented enough, he doesn't need to pull the BS that he does.

From a fan standpoint I’ll preface this by saying that I am not a Bills fan.

It is great to see the Bills Mafia donating close to $100K to Mark Andrew’s type 1 diabetes research foundation.

From a human standpoint I am a type 1 diabetic.
