N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (1 Viewer)

I do applaud the efforts of ESPN and the NFL Network when it comes to trying to generate excitement regarding the return of Jimmy G. to New England.

Brady’s departure and the lack of fans in the stands make his return practically irrelevant.

Jimmy who?............:wink2:

I see the Bucs signed Brown to one year deal, apparently Brady pushed to have him signed.

Boy does this guy want to win a ring to prove all along it was him and not Belichick.

He's yet another example of why I root for the name on the front of the jersey and not the back.

Thanks for the Super Bowls; the further he's in my rear view mirror the better.........................

A few months ago Bruce Arians flat out said that he did not want Brown due to his many issues and a fear of locker room discord.

Fast forward to today and now he is a stand-up guy and a team player after Brady vouches for him?

I think Tampa is going to find out that the active players, even ones as great as Brady, make for terrible GM’s.

Jason...

I don't really hate any players or teams...
the Giants...Redskins and Eagles...yea...they are the enemy...^&grin...
but I don't hate them...

Antonio Brown...he is the exception...
his caustic personality put the screws on 3 teams hopes and dreams...
Pittsburg...Oakland and New England...
all the stories that surfaced through his ordeal how he screwed people over...
he is an utterly despicable human being...
I never wanted to see him play again...

but if anybody can control him...
it's probably Brady...

here's a bit of truth...
he went from the highest paid wide receiver in in the league in 2019 with Oakland...
at 50 million for 3 years...
to now taking a contract with one year later in TB...
for a paltry 1 million dollar base salary...
talk about going backwards...{eek3}...

George...
I don't remember how his suit worked out...
did NE get stuck paying him his salary after they canned him?

Cowboy fans are having a miserable season...
and it's only gonna get worse...
it's very conceivable that they might not win another game this season...

welcome to the Ben DiNucci era...

with the Cowboys already decimated from injuries...
Andy Dalton took a viscous head shot while giving himself up sliding feet first...
in the 3rd quarter from Washington linebacker...Jon Bostic...and was concussed...
Bostic was ejected from the game...
but no consolation there...

looks like Dallas will get a chance at a good draft pick...
all 4 of their once vaunted O-line are gone or out with injuries...
their secondary is soooooooooooo bad anyone can score on them...
all they have are offensive weapons...
but no QB to throw to them...
they need help everywhere...

That Steelers D looks like the real deal. They are going to be tough in the playoffs. Tomlin is an underrated coach. He has Pittsburgh playing old school football. They will give the Chiefs and Ravens fits. Some great teams in the AFC. In the NFC, it's basically the Packers and Seahawks.

Mike,
I don't know how that suit worked out to be honest, I can't recall what the end result was...........

Well things have gotten very ugly in New England, getting blown out by the 49ers.

It looks like the team has basically quit; poor tackling, dismal offensive effort, Cam looks cooked, not sure what happened to this guy, he looked great the first two weeks, was a bit off vs Las Vegas, then he got COVID, he looked bad last week, worse this week.

Either he's hurt or his shoulder is toast..................

And Brady and Gronk are lighting it up in Tampa.

Boy; the Red Sox suck, the Bruins window is closing, the Celtics can't get over the hump/advance to the finals and the Patriots look like they are going back to the early 1990's.

Today was the first time in over 20 years where I shut a game off, enough is enough.

Combat is looking more and more on point; I wonder if Belichick hangs em up after this year..........................

I think Tampa is in the mix too, maybe the Saints? And if the 49ers can get healthy?

The AFC has the Chiefs, Steelers, Titans, Ravens, Bills, maybe the Browns? Or the Colts?

Tom Brady is a freaking anomaly of an athlete...
turned that whole TB program around
like him or not...
he is pretty amazing...
wonder how much better they are gonna be with Antonio Brown...

reminds me of that Alice in Chains song...

"Rooster"...

"yea...they come to snuff the Rooster...but he ain't gonna die"...

I'll swap you Dalton and DiNucci for him...
even throw in Dak for the rest of the season...^&grin
3 for 1...
that's a good deal...

Someone today suggested they trade Cam to Dallas, go with the kid, tank and get a high draft pick.

No thanks, not a fan of tanking....................

In the AFC, I would rank them in order: Steelers, Chiefs, Titans, Ravens. The others are not in that league.

NFC: Packers, Seahawks, Tampa. A few other teams are hanging out there like the Bears and Saints. The Cards are surprising. A feast for the NFC West in that they get to play all the NFC east teams. The Rams are 4-0 against the east. 0-2 against everyone else.

I think the Steelers are good, but they have lapses, the game yesterday should have been a blow out. They got cute and lazy on Offense - 3 interceptions on drives that should/could have been scores. Next week against the Ravens in Baltimore will be an awful tough game. Steelers are winning IMO b/c they go out and smack the other team in the mouth offensively immediately and get up. Not sure what we do if we get smacked! As Mike Tyson so famously said - everybody is a tough guy until you get punched in the mouth - that quote applies to a lot of facets in life!

I like the Steelers to win the AFC but I’ll reserve further judgment on that until I see what they do against Baltimore this weekend.

Then again, if you listen to ESPN and the NFL Network the Rams are unstoppable despite the fact that Sunday night they said the same thing about the Cardinals. If you listen to them whoever wins the last televised game is the greatest team ever.

The Bears, despite their 5-2 record, are impostors; they are not that good. The only legitimate win was against the Bucs and that loss must have served as a wake up call for Brady and company.

The jury is still out on the Rams. Injuries are still killing the 49ers: both Deebo and Jeff Wilson (who had an outstanding game on Sunday) are on IR. They will be challenged to win against the Seahawks.

Then, there are the Jets...Enough said.

I'm not overly impressed with the Rams record yet...
they have taken advantage of a very weak schedule...
their first 4 games were against the woeful NFC East...
which they won handily...

they enjoy good field position with their awesome defense...
Ramsey...Donald...Floyd make that offense look a lot better than they are...
in second place allowing less than 18 points per game
24 sacks is league's third best...
they thrive on defense...

The Rams have the most complicated offense that I have ever seen to get so few big plays. There are guys lined up everywhere running all different directions and they rarely complete a pass for more than ten yards. Goff is the weak link. He can't make a play under pressure. So they have designed the offense around a lot of motion and getting the ball out of his hands quickly. With that said, they are 5-2. A ton of skill players on offense and some stars on D. Chicago was awful. Can't believe they were 5-1. Foles looks like he is satisfied with one SB and is just riding that wave to retirement.

Mike:

I completely agree about Antonio Brown.

I couldn’t help but laugh after I read that Bruce Arians said that Brown is in great football shape and ready to play.

What was he supposed to say after signing one of the most controversial players in recent memory? He is in terrible shape and we made a huge mistake?

-Jason

Let me preface this by saying I like Tom Brady. He is a Bay Area guy and an all-time great.

However....

The Tom Brady Antonio Brown denial tour has gotten out of hand.

He has appeared everywhere imaginable denying he had anything to do with the Brown signing.

I can almost guarantee that if he is a flop Brady will remind everyone who had nothing to do with it. If the signing works suddenly Brady will be the reason why it happened.

He is not called Shady for nothing. It's a win at all cost mentality. Anything goes. I wonder if he has destroyed his cell phone this year like he claimed to do every year when the NFL asked him for it?
