N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (1 Viewer)

One other unique thing that Belichick does is cutting ties with players while they are still in their prime while not re-signing players to huge contracts.

Essentially they do not have to rebuild because they are constantly building.

His famous quote is he'd rather get rid of a player a year too early than a year too late.

No one gets signed here based on past accomplishments, you get what you get based on your efforts in the here and now.

People were questioning why Butler did not play in the Super Bowl; look at him now on the Titans, he comes in on nickel packages, isn't even starting and they are paying him huge money.

I don't think him playing in the Super Bowl would have mattered, he was on the downward slope last year and it's continued with the Titans.

The 49ers are releasing linebacker Reuben Foster after he was arrested Saturday on domestic violence charges.

Who didn't see this coming except for the 49ers' front office?
Evidently the Redskins don't see the problem either as the moron front office has signed him. -- Al

The story gets murkier and murkier each day.

Apparently he was cut by the Niners because he agreed to not even be around the woman who is involved with the current domestic violence case. The Niners figured that the one place he would be able to avoid her was on the road. Sure enough somehow she ends up in the team hotel in Tampa 2,900 miles from San Francisco.

that was hard to believe....but...^&grin^&grin^&grin^&grin^&grin

held New Orleans to under 200 yards total offense...

Tremendous win by Dallas, that defense is legit, specifically their linebackers, man can they cover ground, they all hit like trucks.

Not to mention that win bones the Eagles too; a total win/win, Dallas should make the playoffs, they can run the ball, getting Cooper was nails and with that defense, they are going to be a tough out.

Good for them.

Big for the Rams as well. That puts them at the top of the NFC for the moment. They get Detroit this week which should make them 11-1.

this will get stalled in the NFL Supreme Court of Goodell til at least the end of this season...^&grin
probably longer...

this is his second incident of assault...

this is his second incident of assault...

According the the NFL's punishment schemes, Brady got 4 games in 2016 for an incident in 2014 with little if any evidence in favor of the suspension, this guy (not using his name ever again) will get 1 quarter in the 2021 season with video evidence to back-up the suspension.

AL...

The NFL already put Hunt on the commissioner's exempt list earlier Friday night...
meaning if another team does sign him...
he can't play in or attend games until the investigation is over and a decision on potential discipline is made...
he would not count against the team's 53-man roster....

I posted a bad link earlier...

These guys are pampered from high school on. Told they are the greatest. Paid millions. Never held accountable by anyone. Collective responsibility of coaches, family, fans and alums. They are only punished when there is stone cold video evidence and there is no other choice from a public relations standpoint. Imagine if we knew everything these players got up to? There wouldn't be anyone left to play.

It seems we always say this but these guys never learn. As you said these guys are pampered from high school on (maybe earlier). When you are put on a pedestal and allowed to skirt -- if not disregard -- the rules, incidents like this are the natural result.

this may be the beginning of the end of Hunt's career...
a lot of teams will shy away from signing him...
as this is his second assault allegation...
and that he lied about it to the front office...
Ware will be next man up...
but any team in the AFC must surely feel that the AFC league leading 9-2 Chief's just lost a big chunk of their puzzle...
perhaps lose their hold on home field playoff advantage with that too...
that's huge...

I don't know if there are any vacancies as of yet...
but I bet GB's McCarthy's phone will be ringing soon...

they had a really disappointing season...
but I think he is a great coach...

doubt if they can find one as good as him for next season...

He had been there 13 years, which I think is long enough. Moreover, in the last few years there had been increasing grumbling about his play calling so I think his dismissal was overdue.
