N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (3 Viewers)

Well. you know what they say, 'You can't fix stupid'. Really need to learn to keep the old mouth shut. Redskins are walking the tightrope of a lost season right now with Smith's loss, suspending Peterson will make it official. :rolleyes2: -- Al

Al...
as slow as the NFL's court system works...
if he gets a suspension at all...
it will probably take 2 years to get it done...

still...

why boast about it to an interviewer when you already got suspended for it...

really dumb!

shame about Smith...even as weak as it is...they seemed like they were really in control of the East...

Dallas is really gonna be embarrassed next week when Brees comes to town...

Steelers down by a touchdown with about seven minutes to go.

Ok everyone, stop me if you've seen this movie before; while the Patriots routinely break the Steelers hearts, they have something around a 98.9% win rate in these games where they're losing to an inferior team late in a game that would help the Patriots out tremendously.

Wake me up if they're still losing at 0:00.

The 49ers are releasing linebacker Reuben Foster after he was arrested Saturday on domestic violence charges.

Who didn't see this coming except for the 49ers' front office?

What a horrendous decision to throw that ball, if the lineman did not pick it off, the linebacker standing right behind him would have.

No bail out defensive penalty in the end zone like last week vs Jacksonville.

Patriots are now sitting with the #2 seed.

The AFC is very, very competitive this year with the Chefs, Patriots, Steelers, Texans, Chargers and Colts all playing very well right now.

Steelers have no one to blame but themselves - Blocked FG, Fumble out of Endzone on a sure touchdown., Fumble while driving for at least a FG, probably the game icer touchdown to go up 2. Interception in Endzone on tie TD on a play that was ill designed from the get go. Just a crappily executed game against a team they should have crushed and probably would have crushed any other day of this week. Ben's stats looked like he should have had 5 TD passes.

Just ridiculous and I swear this league is fixed. Somehow, we are going to end up with a dogfight in the AFC North which should have been over a month ago. And yes George, I think the Patriots will have the 2 seed by the time the playoffs go off again.

Pissed off at the mistakes we make, it is not playoff ready football with the offensive talent we put on the field. How the hell do you throw for 500 yards and lose a low scoring game...........turnovers.

George,

Dont' disagree, but I think you are a little biased - last week against Jacksonville, there was no bail out penalty, Jags committed every penalty on that drive and then some, you just had an officiating crew with the stones to throw the flags. They were flagrant and the one in the endzone, he knocked the receiver to the turf, then intercepted. Don't worry, your pats will be #2.

Although my son wants to lose as many games as possible, he thinks like you do. He’s not sure Lynch and Shanahan are the answers. He also is not that high on Jimmy G.

Right now it looks like the Chiefs-Pats in the AFC and Rams-Saints in the NFC. Home field is going to be huge. Expect the highest scoring playoff games in history.

Brad:

It really isn't much fun hoping your team loses but at this point it is the best thing for them. The Raiders hold the tie-breaker with the Niners for the number one overall pick but anything can happen with 5 games remaining.

I truly think next year will be the defining year for Jimmy G, Lynch and Shanahan, especially Shanahan.

Oh, you mean the guy everyone here was jumping off of bridges over the Patriots not trading away Brady and signing to a huge contract based on a whopping two game sample, the second game of which he got injured halfway through and the third string QB finished?

People around here don't know how good they have it with Brady.

The NFL (among other sports) is so quick to crown players as the "next this" or the "next that". I am not sure if it impatience, marketing or both but more often than not the guy who has been prematurely handed the crown fails.

People are already lining up to make room in the Hall of Fame for Mahomes, Goff etc., when they have not really won or done anything.

Well, he looked good in his last six games but not so hot in the first three games this year. Perhaps defenses adjusted to him.

Brad:

I am reserving my opinion of him until he plays a full season. The sample size is simply to small at this point.

I can't see the Niners using a number 1 or 2 pick on a QB this year especially since the QB draft class is super thin so the job is probably his for 2 years at the least.

The NFL this year, more than any other year, is literally week to week.

I can see the Patriots running the table and finishing 13-3 with the #1 seed and going back to the Super Bowl, or see them losing to the Vikings, Doofins and Stillers to end up 10-6 with the fourth seed and having to play the Chargers in the first round and getting knocked out.

Any team that loses to the Jaguars, Lions and Titans in the same year has no guarantees. Not just losing, but getting blown out in all 3 games.

My son wants them to pick a QB but I told him that doesn’t make any sense because of the huge investment they made in him in the off season.

Just as a reminder of how hard it is in today's NFL to keep great teams together...

The 2014 Seattle Seahawks were the defending Super Bowl champs, having just demolished MVP Peyton Manning (55 TDs, 10 INTs, 5477 yards, 115.1 rating) and the Denver Broncos. They were gunning for their second straight SB title. They had an extremely talented, young team, one of the best defenses in NFL history, and entered the SB with swagger.

The Patriots beat them in dramatic fashion.

Since then, they've gone 10-6, 10-5-1, and 9-7, failing to make the playoffs in 2017.

They're headed for a major rebuild, just three years removed from being on the cusp of a dynasty.

As a Patriots fan, I think about that and appreciate that the Patriots have ALWAYS been right at the top of the NFL. Always. Someday that won't be true, but it's taken no time at all for Seattle to go from dynasty to rebuilding.

The Patriots in the BB era have never had to rebuild. Not once. Reload. Improve. But never rebuild.

It's incredible.

It's an amazing record of excellence. BB was on his way to building something in Cleveland until ownership sabotaged him with the move to Baltimore. For those who haven't seen it, the NFL Network show, A Football Life, on his time in Cleveland -- Cleveland 95 -- is an amazing documentary. He compiled a staff that had future coaches and GMs on it like Nick Saban, the GM of the Falcons and so forth.

Rumor is Bruce Ariens want the Cleveland job. Can’t blame him. That’d be a fun young team to coach

That's one of the best episodes in that series, his staff in Cleveland was incredible.

Those poor Browns fans, their team moves to Baltimore, Modell really screwed them over big time and wins two Super Bowls.

They really are a cursed fan base.
