N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (1 Viewer)

The Steelers of this current year are a great example of underachievers, wondering fools and the village idiots all combined into one. The last 3 games have utterly disgusted me as a fan. I just don't understand how you can make that many critically bad decisions, have bad luck and generally screw yourselves all at the same time. The odds have to be out there. Today is just another example of if it can go wrong, it will. So now instead of having 3 wins in the last 3 weeks with a commanding lead, they are in a dogfight and will be lucky to finish.

First time in a good number of years, I am thoroughly pissed off.

You think you're disgusted and pissed off; guess you didn't catch the end of the Patriots/Doofins game today...…………...luckily for me, neither did I, I was packing after the Woburn show, did not see it live...…………….I heard about it and much like the ball going through Bucker's legs in the 1986 WS, the Boone home run in 2003, the Tyree catch in the 2008 Super Bowl, it's something I'll never see.

Just pathetic...…….next week is a match up of two teams going nowhere this year.

Ravens gave the Chiefs all they could handle and if they make 1 stop on 4th down...well, as Tom said looks like a dog fight for the North with Pitt, Balt. Should be a interesting 3 weeks.

You can't blame everything on Sanchez but his stats speak for themselves: 6 for 14 for 38 yards, with a passer rating of 10. Yes, 10. That is not a typo. I've never seen a rating that bad.

What happened to the Rams last night?

Cold weather plus a good defense plus a west coast team equals a loss.

The Rams are lucky they won't be playing in cold weather come playoff time, so their arena league offense should be fine.

I remember back in the day how they would annually get smoked by the Vikings in Minnesota or the Bears in Chicago, in 1985 vs Chicago I don't think any of them wanted to get off the team bus, Erik Dickerson had something like 4 yards rushing, the fastest he ran all day was to the heated locker room at the end of the game.

Gee, too bad.

Is Gronk still chasing that guy from Miami? Maybe he had heat stroke never having seen the sun in Bostograd. He went down like an injured rhino on the Discovery Channel.

Thought the Ravens had that game won. Only needed to make one stop on 4th down, yet let them gain 42 yards on one of them and the game tying TD on the other, all on the same last minute drive. Really frustrating. -- Al

Playing in Miami for the Patriots is what playing in cold weather is to the Rams, ie, Kryptonite.

Nice to see all those frauds in LA embracing the Rams, the same team that left due to lack of support first to Anaheim, then to St. Louis, where they won a Super Bowl, something the Rams could never do, but at least they got to one when they played the tomato can Buccaneers in the NFCCG, then they got smoked by an aging Steelers team on the back nine of their dynasty.

Maybe they can actually win a playoff game this year, we'll see about that.

Would be interesting to see 19 people at that ****hole of a stadium they play in if they were 2-11 vs 11-2, everyone loves a winner.

You're right. Fans do love a winner - even when they are repeatedly caught cheating. I can't wait until the end of the year to smash my phone to pieces with a hammer like Shady said he did when it was considered evidence. What happened to those equipment guys who deflated the balls for him and got thrown under the bus? Did they get the Whitey Bulger treatment? Even old Whitey fled Bostograd for LA. That's a shame. He had the skills to go far in the Pats organization. Maybe he could have stole playbooks or filmed practices for Bill. Like old times.

Good win by the Bears. I feared for the worst but their defense was outstanding. Looks like the Rams coach — thankfully — forgot to watch last week's Giant Bears game film as to how you beat the Bears. If the Bears should meet the Rams again, I’d expect a different result.

I know it's tough to fathom how a team in today's NFL with a salary cap and commissar Goodell in charge can win as often as the Patriots do with the other owners constantly busting his balls to dream up new and inventive ways to try to take down the Patriots.

They as an organization in that 6 million dollar sham of a Wells report were found not guilty of any wrongdoing, but commissar Goodell under orders from the rest of the members of the billionaires boys club still whacked them for a #1 draft pick and a million bucks anyway.

And again, in that report which would been better used in the latrine at NFLHQ in NYC Brady, or "Shady" as you like to call him was found not guilty, but "generally aware of wrongdoing", whatever that means, so he was suspended four games.

And what happened; he got a 4 game vacation to keep fresh and the Patriots went 3-1, only losing to the Bills because we were down to our third string QB.

So despite commissar Goodell and the Billionaire boys club best efforts, the Patriots have since gone on to appear in three Super Bowls and win two.

And as far as spygate, they did nothing wrong, they were wrong filming signals from the sideline vs the press box, but hey, fine them again and dock them another #1 pick, all they did afterward was go 16-0.

Don't worry, Brady, oh sorry, "Shady" is going to retire in another 4 or so years, Belichick we're not sure of, so the rest of the NFL will have a shot at winning soon enough.

Unless they draft another first ballot lock HOF QB in the 6th round again in the 2019 draft, then they can start this whole 17 year/5 Super Bowl win run all over again.

Just like groundhog day for the rest of the NFL.

I get it, many of your teams had bad days yesterday. I think I can one up all of you and that was with my team winning:

The Raiders somehow inexplicably beat the Steelers yesterday thus giving up the number one over-all pick to the 49ers. That is until the 49ers beat the Broncos and in doing so they gave the number one pick back to Oakland.

Jason,

It looks like the 49er's are still in the diver's seat for the 1st overall pick:

If the season ended today I would have thought the Raiders would pick ahead of the niner's since they defeated the Raiders head-to-head this season, but apparently that's not one of the tie breakers while strength of schedule is.

The Niners have been in charge all along. As they are unlikely to beat Seattle, LA or the Bears in the final three games, they’re almost a lock for the number one pick.

George K was a monster on Sunday, probably the best TE in the league. He needs only 200 yards to break Gronkowki’s record. The Broncos let him run wild in the first half and it cost them; they corrected it in the second half but SF held on.

Joe:

Whew! Thanks for the info.

Jason, you’ll get a kick out of this. My son has been fixated on the number 1 pick since Jimmy G went down. On Sunday when he was at work I kept texting him the results, 6-0, 13-0, 20-0, etc. Each time he replied “Losers!” He was relieved when he found out the Raiders also won.

Brad:

Thanks, I needed the laugh!! I am so glad that us Niner fans have something to rally around.

Jason, he’s fixated on getting Nick Bosa from Ohio State.

Interesting money stat from the NFL:

Of the 6 highest paid QBs (based on average annual salary) in 2018, Kirk Cousins is the only one whose team is currently in a playoff position.

Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford, Matt Ryan, Derek Carr and Jimmy Garoppolo are the other 5 who are out of contention.
