N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (2 Viewers)

A.) "Also, the victim doesn’t get $ in a criminal case."

B.) "something is rotten in this story...…"

A.) No she won't.

B.) And yes there is.

Oh, the league is going to do their own investigation; that should turn out well.

So the day before he's going to begin his career with New England, a civil law suit gets filed.

Things that make you go HHMMMM...……..:rolleyes2:

Can they void the Thomas to the Jets trade now, looks like they're going to need him.

Honestly, I don't think you need anyone other than the chemistry I saw on the field week 1 and I only watched 2 plus series. I think Brown truly is a cancer and to parallel a toy soldier saying, the best collection is the one you don't buy! The text messages alone are so god awful and his demeanor, disdain and treatment is frankly disgusting. You just can't do that in today's world. If the NFL doesn't get him, METOO will!

Another telling sign, if John Gruden can't put up with you, then something is seriously wrong, I mean that guy's best friend is John Daly and look what a circus side show his career became?

This is a very serious situation and it can't be broomed under the rug, it's not going to have a quick resolution.

She has specific times and dates for all of this, this is not some half assed trumped up BS situation.

I'm not a lawyer or well versed on the process, but my thought is it strengthens a civil suit if it first starts as criminal, there isn't enough evidence to pursue, and then it goes to civil where there is a lower bar to reach. The fact that this went right to a civil suit is confusing to me, is the victim seeking justice or a settlement? What sort of lawyer would advise a client to skip criminal and go strait to civil; again, not in my wheelhouse, but from what I have read, civil cases are easier to win, is that true?

It's going to drag out for a long time and it's going to get messy.

The Patriots are screwed here either way; if they cut him now, that's their right, but based on what, a civil suit? If it turns out this a is a big nothingburger, that's a bad look for them.

If they keep him and stand by him and believe him and it turns out all of this is true and he loses the suit, then they had a lying POS on their team the whole time and that's an even worse look.

Either way they are screwed.

True, it is a bad situation. I think the telling sign here is he admits a relationship, then calls it a money grab. Odd defense if he were completely innocent. Basically, he knows the "print" is out there, so he is trying to say yeah, all consensual b/c he can't lie and deny it happened. So, next best step is to then try to become the victim. I hate to say it and I never rush to judge someone, but the pattern of behavior here is alarming and you wonder what else is out there? Like I said, remember the temper tantrum and throwing the couch off the balcony? I believe that involved a female too. Somewhere along the way, he lost his and believed his own hype.

I can only imagine the endorsement deal meetings this morning that are occurring. I think I lost all respect before this story when he didn't deny that he paid a social media consulting firm to help orchestrate his Oakland exit.

It's not the civil suit that's problematic but his conduct, as exemplified by the texts, which I will assume to be his texts. However, I wonder how many other players there are who have written similarly offensive texts (but have not engaged in similar acts). I don't think it's confined to Brown. Sooner or later the Me Too movement is going to turn its eyes on sport (forgetting Jerry Richardson for the moment) and Brown may be its Weinstein moment.

thank you Zach and Brad...

those graphic, bizarre, vulgar, vindictive texts are ****ing...
those could bury him...
people who read them will drop support for him...

how can anyone be stupid as to permanently document what he did?

I have seen some awfully slow justice in the NFL...
however...he may be put on the commissioner's exempt list today...

but an outright decision to exile him...
may take months and months...

still...
if I were Goodell...
I would like too see more evidence supporting her claim before I do anything...

Mike, from social media, we see that people don't think when they post something. They say stupid stuff. You'd think Jeff Bezos would be smarter but even he sent texts that cost him his marriage and part of his Amazon empire. There are stupid people all over.

Brad...

Donald Sterling comes to mind also...
once it's on the Electronic Internet...
it's there forever...

All of this crap makes me wish more and more for the long gone days of Pete Rozell. -- Al

Brad...

unbelievable!
she permanently embedded that in the Internet...
and she was a communication specialist...
if anyone should have known better..

I just read that story...
never had heard of it before...
amazingly stupid!

the article I read said she was rehired by IAC...

I guess Brown is not a role model after all. Who could have known? Salty tears. Given the track record of the Pats, $59 Kraft will pay this woman off, and his lawyers will make it all go away. Brown will catch ten TDs in the SB and NE fans will rejoice. Winning is all that has ever mattered to Bellichick. Why start drawing moral lines now? It's football. No choir boys need apply.

Mike,

Yes, unbelievable. The poster child for stupidity.

You know what; I'm with Tom.

Four years ago (wow, time flies) I had to listen to weeks/months of nonsense about deflated ****ing footballs, the ideal gas law, lawsuits, Brady getting suspended for being generally aware something happened to the footballs, court cases,, suspensions, suspensions overruled, suspension back on...……………

Then all the Kraft nonsense, "Mr 59.00" (wow, what wit...…………), rub and tugs, law suits, losing ownership of the team as a result, blah, blah, blah.

Now this ****ing crap; he said/she said, civil law suit, cash grab, three incidents over two years, she'll cooperate with the NFL, but she's getting married this weekend, the NFL investigating and handing out their own measure of justice.

All of this bullshit on the anniversary of 9/11...………………………

I can't take this crap anymore, rooting for despicable human beings that were it not their ability to throw, catch, run, tackle and block would be asking me if I want fries with that.

My best friends son here in Taunton is the starting center on the HS football team, I usually get to two or three of his games.

I'm going to buy season tickets today...…………….adios you criminals, thugs, *******s, you all deserve each other.

none of this is affecting ratings...
they are up big...
every time somebody says they quit NFL...
somebody else takes their place...
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27592990/nfl-ratings-digital-tv
https://sports.yahoo.com/over-109-million-people-watched-the-nfl-during-week-1-143235169.html

TV ratings may be up, but interesting item I saw here locally in Baltimore - the Ravens were having a "Groupon" event - tickets for home opener at $40 each. Kind of nuts considering they were sold out for 20 years running. I wonder if more tix are available nationwide than before and tv is up due to less people going? I don't know, its a huge business.

I don't know about tickets...
I have not been to a live football game in 20-30 years...
I prefer to watch them on tv...
every team does some promos I guess...
cheap standing room only seats...
just curious...so...I looked for tickets earlier this year...
at Texas Stadium where the Cowboys play...
and the prices shocked me...
$600 to over $1,000 per person for good seats (close to 50 yard line)...
upper nose bleed level over $150 per...
standing in the endzone...$48...
Jerry is raking it in...

Most hysterical thing I've heard came from YouTube sensation "Pittsburg Dad"...………(if you haven't seen this guys work, check it out, he's brilliant);

"Actual dumpster fires are looking at AB right now and going "YIKES!"...………

I nearly died laughing, he's the best.

I don't see why New England is even bothering with Brown, they are that good.

The only player on that team that is irreplaceable is Brady (See the Patriots' 2008 season).
