N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (1 Viewer)

sort of like the sideline has a huge white line along it so the officials can clearly see when a guy is still in bounds and they don't blow a call that takes a TD of the board and thus cost a team a win...………….oh wait, nevermind………………….

George...

yea...that was the direction I was going when you said watched this 47 times and didn't see any TD...
might be a little more tolerant with the refs if you can't see this one after 47 looks...

now...

lets swap Julio Jones with Brady...or Edelman...or Sanu...Michel...
I bet you would have said that was a TD the first time you saw it on replay...
heck...forget replay...you would of said it was TD after watching it live...^&grin

Mike, I thought it was close enough that it could have gone either way. However, that game was lost long before that. The offense had a terrible day. It was a game they should have won. There will be some like that.

This post really sums it up for me as well.

The Niners offense yesterday never got into a rhythm and they seemed to be a step slow on too many plays.

It should have never come down to an instant replay call.

not sure what either of these posts have to do with addressing the obvious TD...
that you guys couldn't see...

but you "liked" each others posts...
so if that validates it for you...
then it's good enough for me...

that sums it up for me as well...^&grin...^&grin...^&grin

The first time it appeared to me he was in was in your pictures, specifically the one with the black line; once you use that as a backdrop, it's as clear as day and it's not even close, he's WAY over the line in that frame...……………..in real time, it's really, really tough to see it with the naked eye...………….

There are four teams in the NFC with 11-3 records and with the remaining schedule there could be three 13-3 teams once the playoffs start.

And yet New England remains my pick to win the Super Bowl.

That makes one of us.

I just don't see it, the offense is offensive and the defense, although tremendous vs the pass, is swiss cheese vs the run and Jackson is going to run, run, run, run on them all day long.

That's provided the Patriots beat the Bills Sunday, end up with the #2 seed, host the Chiefs in the second round and win.

If they lose to Buffalo, then the Chiefs get the #2 seed and in that case, it's on the road vs them.

They ain't beating the Chiefs and the Ravens on the road.

Nope, ain't happening...…………...rumors are swirling here that Brady is going to the Raiders in 2020.

Wouldn't that be something.

Here is a hilarious one for 2020 from a Bay Area sports talk radio host:

Brady signs with the Niners and the Niners trade Jimmy G back to the Patriots.

Even I got a good laugh at that one.

I re ally hope he retires before it comes to that or any other team.

He's stated he wants to play until he's 45.

Maybe he'll get traded to the Rams and we'll get Goff, they Doug would have to root for "Shady Brady"...…………….I'm LOLing my *** off at the prospect of that...…………...

Didn't Namath play for the Rams when he was 100 years old?

The way Goff has played this season I would gladly trade him for a 45 year-old Brady. Granted even more air would have to be deflated from his balls playing in a warmer climate outside the arctic circle but I'm sure some equipment lackey could be found to do that. There are a couple unemployed somewhere.

btw: the Pats are coming to LA next year to play in the new stadium! Coincidentally, an advanced film crew from Kraft's production company has decided to remake "Horse Feathers" in LA. Because the Rams won't be in the playoffs, they have been invited to appear as extras signaling in all their plays like "hey diddle, diddle, this time we run Gurley up the middle for one yard." Belichick has agreed to review the film for its artistic merit and not for any football purpose. He doubleplus promises. All kidding aside. It would be a great game to attend in LA. The Rams are also playing the Jets next year so they are sure of at least one win.

Namath may have gone to California to help push OJ's wheelchair down the field when he played for the Niners. Unfortunately, a lot of these guys hang on too long. Their egos don't allow them to give it up. For example, Montana ended his career as a Chief. Elvis ended his on the bathroom floor. Sometimes they are the last to know when it's over. I would be shocked if Brady leaves NE. He is God there. He probably should have retired after the SB last year and gone out on top though.

I wouldn't say that Joe Montana hung on too long.

In his two seasons with the Chiefs he was 20-12. In 1993 he led Kansas City to its first division title in 22 years and a trip to the AFC Championship Game. They also made the playoffs in 1993 and in his final game he was 26 for 37, passing for 314 yards with 2 TD's.

One might be inclined to argue that Joe Namath parlayed three decent years and a groundbreaking Super Bowl win into a place in the HoF. His career stats are not very impressive, even for the era he played in. He didn't even have a career winning record. Without that win in SB III, I don't think he comes close to consideration for the HoF. That said, I was always a fan of his from the Bama days and always liked to watch him play. He is a genuine character. -- Al

He had a cannon for an arm, man could he throw darts down the field.

To me, Manning reminds me of Namath, he could throw the ball downfield, a great downfield passer like Namath was.

Can’t disagree with the above; it’s that win that go him there.

Broadway Joe is in my top 5 of all time favorite NFL players along with Tom Brady, Lawrence Taylor, Jim Brown and Lynn Swann.

Montana used to be in there, but he's too much of a baby over the whole Brady thing; it's ok to acknowledge his greatness Joe, no one is saying you're not great, so don't be a two year old over it.

On a push, I'd put Joe into the top slot, he's just the coolest guy, nicest guy, a rebel, not all full of himself, love the guy. And that SB win; nothing will ever top that, it's probably the most iconic moment in NFL history.

Hard to argue with the historic importance of SB III, although I much prefer it had never occurred.:wink2: As a diehard Baltimore Colts fan, I prefer to harken back to an earlier moment in NFL history as the games iconic moment, the 1958 Sudden Death championship game. That had a much happier ending, from my POV, and lead to the rise of the game I loved in the 60's through the 90's. The NFL used to be a great league, but has lost it somewhere along the line. They need another iconic moment like 1958 or 1969 or they need to get back to what made the NFL great, defense, balanced running and passing, and they especially need another Pete Rozelle. -- Al

Agreed!! He just has always felt like the real deal!!! I cannot agree more about the SB III prediction- it SOLD the NFL as an organization.

Whenever JN is on TV- I always tell my family to shut up and gather round because something is going to happen- he cant help himself.

He's the genuine article.

He's also the first QB to pass for 4,000 yards so I'm not sure his stats don't support his Hall induction- Fouts broke that record a decade or so later in a 16 game season.

There's a reason the guy's rookie card is the most valuable football card printed.
