N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (3 Viewers)

the Eagles have just pulled their...
"replace Wentz" Superbowl winning strategy move...:wink2:
Nick Foles is unavailable...
but...
Josh McGown is starting to look very comfortable tieing the game with a field goal...

2.) Seahawks (after 2014, I thought they were toast, but they have risen from the ashes, plus Beast Mode is back)

George...

I just laughed to myself when I first read this...
but yea...
not a lot of running backs could have punched it in...
from the 3 yard line with 4 Philly defenders hanging on their back...

Pete Carroll is probably feeling pretty good about the move he made to sign Lynch right now...

BEAST MODE...{eek3}

If that over the hill stooge leads the Eagles to a win, I am literally going to fire the Christmas tree through my brand new 5,000.00 three bay window with the half moon over it......……….

the Saints are not known for their defense...
still...Cousins made some really sweet throws in OT...
Vikings came in a a huge dog (+8 1/2)...
huge upset there...

That was a bigger upset than the Pats loss. The Saints are tough at home. They came in playing well. After the hue and crying last year about the pass interference, not to mention the prior playoff loss to MN, I thought Brees would light up the Vikings. The Saints are becoming bigger chokers than the Chiefs. I see they are complaining about offensive pass interference. A never ending drama with the Saints.

Technically it was Offensive Pass interference, BUT, consistently that call has seemingly not been made all year and those officials were not making it hear. There was full arm extension, if the guy would have played better defense by turning around, different story.

Saints screwed themselves this time with piss poor play to a team they were light years ahead of.

End of day in the NFC, IMO, there is one team left that is elite. In the AFC, IMO, there are 2 teams left that are elite. Frankly, these may be just about the most non exciting overtime and playoff games I have seen in some time. Really poor execution and play from all teams thus far.

I'd rather play Seattle in the NFC Championship game, playing them twice in 3 weeks seemed like a losing proposition for the Niners.

I’m a bit leery of playing them again but agree that playing them in the divisional round would have made me a bit nervous. I didn’t watch a great deal of the Eagles game but in looking at the rushing stats Lynch did very little.

My son thinks the Viking game will be a cakewalk; I told him you need to take every opponent at this stage very seriously. Still, they should win, especially with everyone healthy.

King Pete is 6-0 against the Eagles. I will give him this. Dating back to his USC days, PC always has his team ready to play in big games. They don't always win but they usually do. They will give the Packers a game. I'm not overly impressed with how Green Bay finished the season. That's a pick'em game. The cold weather might actually help Seattle. The Niners will handle MN. The home teams were 1-3 this weekend.

I could very well see the Seahawks going to the SB. If they play a third game against SF, I’m sure it will be a heck of a game.

The Eagles lost?

Gee, what shame.

I thought for sure they'd throw their 90 year old back up in there and he'd use the horseshoe Folsie used to march the Eagles to victory, I guess Harry had no trick plays up his sleeve either then?

Another Super Bowl winner that caught lightning in a bottle for two games and presto, Super Bowl champions and zip since.

Football is like no other sport that way; get hot at the right time and you win a Super Bowl.
Just ask Opie and the Giants in 2008 and 2011, the Ravens in 2013 and the Eagles in 2018.

Booooooo! Boooooooooooooo!

Nice coaching hires by both the Deadskins and Cowboys. Not sure why it took Dallas so long to confirm they were firing Garrett. They really strung that along. Very strange since it was clear to everyone he was toast about two months ago. I'm not sure they ever said he was actually fired. Just that they were "moving on." Like the Titanic "moved on" after hitting the iceberg. It's a bit humorous how many teams interview Marvin Lewis with no intention of hiring him. I wonder how Danny Snynder will screw things up now in DC? Maybe he will sign Antonio Brown and Philip Rivers to long term deals. I might go to the Rams-Deadskins game next year to see the Rams win a game. The last time I went to a Redskins game must have been in the late 70s or 80s at RFK when they were good. I remember some guy behind me yelling "El-men-dorf" over and over again for some inexplicable reason. The Rams had a safety by that name. Back then Redskins fans were leaving their season tickets in their wills. Plenty of good seats available these days.

I think the Cowboys (Jerry Jones) wanted to continue interviewing coaches but the specter of losing McCarthy to another team was looming so they did the prudent thing and hired the one guy out there with a Super Bowl win on his resume.

George, I knew you wouldn't throw in the towel on your contributions to this thread when you said you were done with the NFL and have zero interest in the remaining non-Patriot teams. This thread would't be the same with you! You are like a walking football encyclopedia and can spit out stats, plays, coaches, superbowl records, players girlfriends, signed contract details with amazing accuracy. In fact you know exactly what happened with deflate-gate C-O-N-spriacy and I believe you. George, don't ever threaten us again that your done with NFL and your contributions to this thread because you know...yes you know, man that its not the truth. And yes, I secretly wished the Pats would go the big show again for one last hurrah. :)

Your humble fan,

John from Texas

Jason...
I actually read that in an article...

also they have parted company with Marinelli and hired Mike Nolan as defensive coordinator......
I'm guessing they will keep Kris Richard...

pretty much a complete overhaul on both sides of the ball...

Thanks John...…………...first and goal from the one and being unable to score, a 40 yard pass wiped out on illegal lineman downfield and Edelman dropping a first down pass will do that to a man, not to mention they lost to Ryan "the tomato can" Tannehill...…….good Lord.

And speaking of good Lord; the Giants hired Patriots special teams coach Joe Judge as their new HC?

A guy who's never been a coordinator?

To coach a team in the biggest media market?

This is either going to be a sneaky good move or an unmitigated disaster...…..either way, much like a car crash, you can't help but slow down and look...…………………...
