N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (2 Viewers)

Seattle is 7-1 on the road this season and at 11-5 one of the best Wild Card teams of 2019.

On the other hand Philadelphia is at home and they do always seem to find a way to win.

I can see this game going either way.

I said it at the start of the season and I have not changed my mind, the Patriots will win the Super Bowl.

Jason...

I didn't think they were gonna win the Superbowl this year...there are a lot of really good teams left...and Brady has been at a huge disadvantage this year with no receivers other than Edelman...but I did not think the 9-7 Titans were gonna beat the Pats in Foxboro...

the Texans/Bills game was an exciting game today...huge comeback for Houston...I'm not a Houston fan and I'm sure they will make make a quick exit next week in Baltimore...

The 2019 New England Patriots were done in by a 40 year old journeyman tomato can and the corpse of Ryan Tannehill, who did nothing all game long except on 3rd and 8, completes the ****ing pass of his life to keep the drive going and clinch the win.

He fumbled twice and threw a boneheaded INT; in short, he sucked.

SUCKED.

But Derrick Henry ran for 500 yards and Vrabel beats Belichick.

And Brady's last pass as a Patriot gets returned for a PIC 6.

This team is done as I know it, they will get blown up on both sides of the ball and the dynasty is over, dead, buried.

But wow, what a run, 19 years, SEVENTEEN division titles, 9 trips to the Super Bowl, 6 wins.

So relax Steelers fans, no 7th for Brady and the Patriots.

I'm done with the NFL, have zero interest in any of the remaining 10 teams.

Good luck to any of you with a dog still in this fight.

Adios.

Mike:

Spot on re the Bills and Texans. That was a great game. Despite the geography I am not a Texans fan either. We actually get more Saint’s coverage than Houston coverage. JJ Watt is an absolute monster.

The Patriots were my futures bet, early on it looked like a sure thing but in the end, as George pointed out they simply didn’t have it.

Now I can cheer the Niners on without any connection to my wallet.

I don't think the NE dynasty is dead- Brady has always been a very selfless person when it comes to contract negotiations so I don't see why that would change now. I'm sure they will work something out for him. People don't normally change who they are when they are in their 40's so I don't see him being any different. I cant imagine his last pass at Gillette as a pic 6 will sit well with him either.

The play calling with 1st and goal at the one was odd. I don't recall them trying to throw any kind of quick pass- they just tried to run the ball in and nothing materialized. The play calling there was really suspect. And the Edelman dropping that pass on 3rd and 6- seemed to sum up their season.

Going into 2019 I was just shocked that Nkeal Harry made it to NE. I thought for sure he would have been a top ten pick but somehow he ended up in NE. As an ASU fan, I had watched him make a ton of spectacular grabs with the Sun Devils. He seemed to spend a lot of time on IR and then his play was inconsistent. Seems ASU players are getting a bad rep at playing well in college and then lacking work ethic in the NFL. All their picks in the past decade have struggled mightily. Cant sit well for recruiting.

The Titans look like they might have the recipe for beating Baltimore- they play solid ball control offense which can keep Jackson on the sideline. Derrick Henry is just pounding people.

The Pats ended up losing three straight at home including one to the Dolphins. They were clearly not the same team. Brady had no help. No playmakers and terrible WRs. I think it was actually good for them to lose this game. It was not going to be pretty going to KC with the Chiefs waiting for some payback. Brady likely comes back but maybe not to the Pats. For good or ill, I can see him finishing out his career with the Chargers or Raiders. Henry was a beast. Amazing that the Titans couldn't score more points with him running wild. That was old school. Houston/Buffalo was an entertaining game but neither of those teams was getting beyond this game.

Brady said he was unlikely to retire so if he doesn’t sign with the Pats, the question is which team is playoff ready and needs a QB to get them over the hump. Teams like the Raiders and Colts come to mind. He will have his pick. I can’t imagine him not playing for the Pats but then again Montana didn’t finish his career with SF.

The play calling in the goal line was pathetic; run left, run left, run left, field goal.

The Titans loaded up vs the run, do play action there and you're going to score, but nope, Josh blew it there.

As Doug pointed out, Brady had zero weapons this year, Edelman is toast, Harry is a bust, Meyers is a JAG, Sanu sucks, Dorsett sucks, Watson and his stone hands sucks too, they wasted a #1 draft pick on Sony, he's awful, they wasted a #3 on Harris, he never saw the field.

But hey, when you draft 32nd or thereabouts every year, it's tough, but still, their drafting the last four years has been awful.

And as Doug also said, better to go out this way than to get blown out in KC, although I'm not sold on the Chefs and Andy Reid either...………………

The Patriots need to do a tear down and rebuild, go 5-11 next year, empty out the roster and start over.

Father Time 14/Patriots 13...…………..

Oddly enough the game didn't surprise me the way it went, but as a fan, not the same without Pats moving on. I don't believe in TN and I have seen in person what Henry can do since College SEC Championship and guess what, not going to happen in Baltimore. As much as it pains me, the Ravens D will eat Tanneyjoke alive and that will be that. The Ravens O won't have to do anything except show up and shred the Titans.

As to Houston - they should be in Church this morning thanking God as if it wasn't for a complete Buffon act by Josh Allen, they would have lost and they still almost did. They are lucky as can be. Josh Allen looked like an unintelligent twit in the second half and most of it seemed his own doing, what an idiot.

Teams left - Balt vs KC is the game. will be interesting today if Seattle can get by Philly and eliminate another team that IMO should not be there as well as what NO does to the VIkings. IF they let the Vikings hang around, watch out.

I know it is ANY GIVEN SUNDAY, but IMO the top teams in each league are truly in a class by themselves and as a generic fan, I hope they advance. The 5 and 6th seeds in the AFC IMO Stink and are not that good and in the NFC, might as well say the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th teams stink - it shoul be a 2 horse race NO and SF. Again, just my opinions, but would like to see it come down to Balt/KC vs NO/SF and I will be actually rooting for KC, would be nice to see Andy Reid and Mahomes finally do it, just not sure on consistency and Travis Kelce is still a moron, so you have that factor. The 49ers are ok too as well as Brees and the Saints.

The best thing you can say about Buffalo is that it was a learning experience. However, if Brady doesn’t re-sign they could become a power in the Eastern Division.

Outstanding post.

I was watching the Bills/Texans game and holy smokes, what on earth was Allen thinking, two back to back plays where the LAST thing you can do is take a sack and he lost what, about 80 yards combined on those two sacks, my God is he clueless.

And yeah, the Titans are frauds, Tannehill was 8-15, 62 yards last night, QB rating of 61.0...…….

SIXTY TWO yards passing in an NFL game.

The Patriots should have loaded the box in the first half and shut down the run, but the problem is they suck vs the run, they were getting blown off the LOS last night all night, Henry ran for 106 yards in the first half.

The key sequence was the first and goal that resulted in 3 points, they kicked off and the Titans marched down the field and scored to take the lead, 3 points vs 7, 14-13, ballgame.

The Ravens and the Chefs are going to demolish the Titans and Texans next week, it will be Ravens/Chefs in the AFCCG, I can't see the Chefs stopping the Ravens offense.

The NFC is going to be a rockfight, whoever survives will have their hands full with the Ravens.

Be sure to let me know how it all turns out...…………

If you put a gun to my head and made me rank the teams 1-10 as far as who I'd prefer to win it all;

1.) Vikings (long suffering fans, 0-4 in the Super Bowl and none of them were remotely close)
2.) Seahawks (after 2014, I thought they were toast, but they have risen from the ashes, plus Beast Mode is back)
3.) Packers (still IMO the most iconic NFL franchise)
4.) Saints (Meh, no reason why)
5.) 49ers (don't really want to see them catch NE/Pitt for most SB wins)
6.) Chefs (I do so holding my nose)
7.) Texans (fan yahooism at it's finest, O'Brien is a clueless stooge)
8.) Titans (horrible uniforms, more yahooism, Vrabel has proven to be quite the jerkwhistle)
9.) Iran
10.) Eagles
11.) Meteor strike
12.) Ravens

Not with Allen as their QB, ain't going to happen.

I think he’s coming along quite nicely. He will just continue to improve next year. I also like their coach.

Brad,
agree with the coach and honestly QB is lucky and dumb at the same time. What makes me doubt him is the proverbial blank stare he had, I am just not sure he is smart enough.

Time will tell.

By the way, NO is making an idiot out of me right now, holy smokes.

Tom

If Cousins get the Vikings in the end zone one more time in the 4th quarter...
the road to the Superbowl is gonna be a lot different than I predicted...

Brees can come back from being 10 down with 1 quarter left...
but...
I think one more touch down from Minnesota...
and the Saints are out...

Tom, you’re right, time will tell. That pitch he made in OT was as a boneheaded move as I’ve seen in a long time. Even with all that they were close to winning the game in OT. Hopefully, he learns from the game.

the Saints are not known for their defense...
still...Cousins made some really sweet throws in OT...
Vikings came in a a huge dog (+8 1/2)...
huge upset there...

A bit of a shocker — well, actually a big shocker. 49ers must be happy with the result.
