Thank you, Glad you posted it. Please continue to post anything else you find on the Internet. Isn't the Internet awesome?

I am thinking it must be a Russian book, but it is one I would like to have. If it is full of those wonderful full page pictures.

Those Ezhov's are great as well but it I have discovered that the painting is question was actually done by Alexander Telenik and that scan is from the Russian military-historical magazine "Emperor". Here are a couple of cover images, including one for one of the paintings I posted earlier that I really like

Here are a couple of more Teleniks. He really does a great job with cavalry actions, something I would like to be able to protray with some of these figures.

Not yet, I am working on that one too. Apparently it started in 2000 and the first issue was a corker.

Hello everyone,:)

For those who love these beautiful paintings of Russian artists ..... I finally found the link to the website in russia:
http://www.fusiliers.lv/biblioteka/ru.php
Some back issues magazine "Emperor" is downloadable for free!!
but also full of papers and journals on the uniforms of the Napoleonic wars.
For translation, the site's home page, a window "google translate" can choose the language.
more pictures ...;):eek:enjoy ....:)

I agree :) A Great link thanks for posting . All the best Gebhard

I agree; well done. Now downloading from that site seems a painfully slow process and the sign up was interesting. Will be worth it though to see the pictures.:D

I posted this on the Favorite FL Horses thread but I thought it deserved to be here as well since this sleeping pair is such a great illustration of the bond that can develop between horse and rider. It would make a great set, done as British of course.;):D

Now for the question about mounted personalities available for less money here are my 2 cents :

I do like them a lot but since I really do want to have many samples of everything FL done for us Nap collectors, I will not be able to buy all mounted personalities .. but maybe 50-75%.. Those are simply stunning but yes they do come with a higher price tag. Now compare that to what a Pegaso 54mm mounted figure cost unassembled, unpainted (100$US and more) and you'll see that for :

-90$ FL charges for the english mounted colonel is simply unbelievable
-100$ FL hussars are dirt cheap
-120$ FL Brits are for me the best they did for the price especially the officer
-130$ FL carabiniers : now those are simply stunning, on one or two feet and the guy falling from his horse looks incredible : he'll be in my next order
-140$ and plus FL mounted personalities are well worth the money and I consider the ones that I do have now (Colbert, William) true jewels in my collection. I would buy them again in a second. Uxbridge and Vandeleur are next for me but I do understand your point.

If those mounted personalities could be available for 80$ I would be so happy and buy them all but budget is budget and I have to respect it.. and it's part of the fun too. If I could afford everything FL produces and just had to hit the add cart button without even having to surf their website for hours choosing carefully my next figures, it would be boring.. that's part of the fun for me :)

Alex

PS : when in life you have to choose between spending 160$ for a single mounted figure or 4 french line infantry figures, that's when I say to my wife while writing here on this forum that we're so fortunate to be where we are now :)
I missed this post Alex and simply must add now that I think you have summed up the value notion for those figures very well indeed. FWIW, I am always going through the same kind of comparisons for myself: let's see 1 personality figure, 3 more British Guards or 4 French line?????:confused::D

Time to return to this theme. I don't think this splendid Roco has been posted yet but if so, it deserves a refresh.;) We have pretty much what we need to do this scene if you have or can find some Hougomont gates.

I' would love to see the Black Duke added to the personality line and any troops from Braunschweig :) Sorry for the quality of this shot its from the original hanging in Braunschweig I did my best ;) The second one is of the his uniform and cap also in Braunschweig that ones a little better . I sure hope First Legion will add him to the list at some point . I have plenty of photos they could use as reference material :D All the best Gebhard
