NBA Playoffs (3 Viewers)

Kyrie Irving may have a miserable personality but he is a great athlete and I will miss watching him play.
Again, I watch professional sports for the athletic talents and teamwork displayed not individual's personalities or motives.
As a former college athlete I know what it takes to compete at higher levels and the odds of standing out in your sport.

Right now I am most impressed with the Phoenix Suns. Their defense and team work are very impressive. I can see them
going all the way but not easily!

I agree. I would never celebrate or hope for a player injury just because I didn't like a particular player or team. That is sour grapes. Beat them on the court if you don't like them.

I’m sure Boston fans aren’t unhappy about that and who can blame them?

Can't speak for other fans, but you never want to see a player get hurt, this is how they make a living and injuries are part of the game, but myself personally I never was a fan of gloating over an injury.

He may be a knucklehead off the court, but on it he's a great talent; if the Celtics had him, Brown, Hayward, Tatum and Williams as a starting 5, they'd still be playing IMO, but it was not meant to be.

Richard...
I'm on board with this comment...
I think they have healed and gelled at the same time...
their confidence seems to be soaring and with Brooklyn's injuries...
I don't see anybody in their way...
but again...few series have gone as I predicted so far...
I'm just glad I have not been betting on them...^&grin

Harden 1-10 last night...46 minutes with 5 points...

so Brooklyn lost right?
wrong...

KD throws down 49 with a triple double...
crazy basketball games...

I gave up on the Nets after the first half. Harden was obviously rusty and tentative, the Nets were missing their shots and playing lousy defense. But then Durant caught fire and along with Green took over the game. Really surprised Milwaukee lost this one but again a great athlete can do amazing things!

Durant played the entire game and never looked tired or frustrated. His conditioning, focus and effort are the true signs of a great athlete. If Harden can come back to his old self they will be hard to beat but I still like Phoenix and don't count out Milwaukee.

I don't have any skin left as to who wins the playoffs but I watched a bit of the games last night and they were fantastic. Love 'em or hate 'em NBA players are unbelievably talented athletes. These guys were drilling circus shots from all over the floor. Back in the day if you were a big man playing center you could barely shoot the ball beyond five feet from the basket. Wilt Chamberlain was about a 50% FT shooter. Now seven footers dribble, shoot from all over the court, and run like deer. The talent level is off the charts. The NBA might have to consider making the court bigger and/or moving out the three point line to make the game more challenging.

The wounded Clippers beat the Jazz last night and the 76ers blew a 24 point lead and lost to the plucky Hawks.

The 76ers should let Atlanta go up 28-3 in game 6 and then they'll have them right where they want them.

In hockey, Montreal knocked off the Golden Knights.

I have no skin left in either game, so for ****s and giggles, I'd like to see the 41 win Hawks and the team with the least total points who qualified for the playoffs Canadiens win their respective championships just to upset the apple cart.

the mighty Brooklyn Nets with the all star 3-some...
succumb to injuries and lose in 7 to Milwaukee...
I'm glad I can't bet on the NBA...cause I'm clueless...
injuries...the great equalizer...

elsewhere...
the Lakers fired their training coach...
blaming her for the poor conditioning and injuries to Lebron...AD...and countless others on the team...
I don't know about that...lol...

Lebron...said he predicted these injuries...
blamed it on the quick turn around to start this season...
maybe so...

I don't condone a beatdown in the stands but the "Suns in 4" guy was pretty cool putting a Rocky Balboa-type trouncing on that Nuggets punk who sucker punched him.

I saw that...
he got leverage cause the guy sitting in the row above him leaned down to fight...
so he just pulled him over and off balance and pummeled him...

they need better/more security at these venues...
this let them get drunk and fight plan isn't working...

The match ups for the conference finals are in; no sixers, nets or lakers.

First time since 1994 both #1 seeds got bounced.

Needless to say, this championship is wide open, any of the four teams left standing can win it.

Pulling for the Hawks, that city is a barren wasteland for championships, plus they have the best "story" starting out 14-20, firing their coach, down a vital player and here they are.

Seems like every championship lately in pro sports involves some sort of story.....................like singers on America's got talent...........

George:

Great post.

The NBA needs this type of "final four".

Professional basketball has become so predicable in the last 25 years where the favorite teams or No. 1 seeds just march to championships one after another. These teams represent a great change.

If Milwaukee gets knocked out then one of the other remaining teams will win their first title in their franchise history.

The Sixers looked tight and choked big time at home. Doc Rivers is the poster boy for playoff futility. He is the only coach to blow a 3-1 playoff lead more than once. Only 13 NBA teams have ever come back from down 3-1 to win a series and Rivers was the coach on the losing end three times.

While I am rooting for the Suns, my son's favorite team, I think the Bucks have the best chance.

Unbelievable end to the Suns-Clippers game. The Clippers miss two FTs with 8 seconds left and up one. The Suns inbound the ball with .9 seconds on the clock and the Clippers D parts like the Red Sea to allow an alley-oop. Game over. A soul crusher. How about the Clippers defender who hung back to cover his guy who was standing on the other side of the court behind the three point line when there wasn't time to catch and shoot a three and instead allowed the game winning dunk? This has to be Suns year.

I watched the 4th quarter of that game...
Clippers really screwed the pooch in the last 10 seconds...
with Chris Paul out they had an opportunity to tie the series...
poor execution in the last few seconds of the game cost them a win...
when that second one clanked out...
you just knew it was gonna be a crazy ending...

I can't remember a year when there were so many injuries to key players in playoffs. I thought LeBron was a bit sour grapes when he complained about the NBA schedule after last season but he might have a point. Young is now injured with the Hawks. They are toast without him. Too bad because he was having quite a run. Even if he can play, an ankle injury can slow a player down or get worse very quick.

Weird to read about Scottie Pippen ripping Phil Jackson and even Michael Jordan. He sounds like he is losing it.
