Ho Chris,
Yep, just what I feared. Early season rankings don't mean much until teams start playing conference games. Terps have developed a bad habit of starting slowly, falling behind by double figures, and then having to rally. It won't fly in the Big 10 this year. Shaping up to be a rollercoaster ride of a season.:rolleyes2: -- Al
The bubble is bursting for the Terps. Started 10-0 and all sorts of buzz around them, but the slow starts and poor shooting has caught up with them as they have lost their last 2 games as they hit the Christmas break. Turgeon has work to do. Teaching them to focus and shoot would be a good start.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Terp bball is a constant in life. ^&grin Chris

They couldn't hit the three. Like Calipari said in the Youngstown loss, you don't have to make all of them but you have to make some. I think they hit maybe two of the three pointers all night.

OSU tonight and UofL next week. Could be couple more losses. Chris

As feared, UK lost to OSU. UofL up next. :rolleyes2: Chris

The good news for Kentucky (and other blue bloods) is that this isn't football.

They'll still make the tournament with a high seed and from there anything can (and often does) happen.

#19 UK beats #3 arch rival UofL 78-70 in OT. Blew a 12 point lead but came back to win it. Nice win for the Cats. Chris

When Kentucky plays the way they did during the comeback they are the best team in the country.

Hi Jason, I think Maxey is going to be one of the best players in the country by the end of the season. He can play point or the 2. His 27 points yesterday was his "arrival notice." As he goes, so goes the team IMO. Chris

#12 UMd beat #11 OSU. Nice win for the Terps. Chris
Yes, it was, however, the Terps once again got off to a slow start, falling behing 8-0 before they woke up. Gotta wonder what the problem is as they start slow game after game. -- Al

I think the Terps didn't score for the first 5 min. :rolleyes2: Chris

History, of a sort, made in Chapel Hill today as Clemson beat UNC in OT. It was Clemson's first win, ever, on UNC's home court. Clemson is now 1-59 at Chapel Hill. Dean Smith is spinning. -- Al

Bill Walton called the UCLA-USC game this weekend on ESPN. He was totally bizarre. I think he was high during the game and rambling off some nutty stuff. At one point he rubbed peanut butter on the TV camera. I felt sorry the other broadcaster who was doing his best to carry on as though Walton wasn't there. Surprised ESPN didn't pull him off the air.

Heard UNC won 2 of their last 9 games. {sm4} As a side note, UK blew a 12 point lead to a poor SC team. UK not going far this yr. :redface2: Chris

Yep, UNC now 8-8 on the year. Unchartered territory for the Tarheels. Terps are also on a downslide. After opening up 10-0, they have lost 4 of 7. Could be a long season as the Terps have real shooting problems. -- Al

Duke fans must be lying awake in bed at night thinking about this yr's rivalry game. :smile2: Chris

Contrary to usual, the Terps got a fast start and a 16 point halftime lead against Purdue. Good thing, too, as their terrible shooting lead to a poor second half that allowed Purdue to climb back into the game but the Terps hung on to win by 7. Whew. -- Al

Duke loses at home to UofL. ^&grin Cardinals played sloppy down the stretch but managed to hang on for the win. Reminiscent of last yr's game when they blew a 20 point lead late in that game. Chris

Just saw that UNC got beaten again, now 1-5 in the ACC and 8-9 overall. I just saw a pig fly by my window.{eek3} -- Al

It's funny and sad to watch and listen to Roy Williams antics. He's trashing his team during interviews. Reminds me of Rick Petino at his worst. Chris

Terps are driving me nuts with their slow starts. Once again, they put themselves behind the 8-ball by falling behind Northwestern 40-26 at the half. Northwestern was 6-11 coming into the game and the Terps 14-4 but the Terps played like they didn't have a clue. They got their heads straight at halftime and outscored NW 51-26 in the second half to win 77-66 for their first Big 10 road win of 2020. They really need to solve this slow start-itis they have. It is very frustrating to watch. :rolleyes2: -- Al
